“Nothing has been fixed, Luna. Our houses are deteriorating, and it has been five years. Haven’t we made enough money through the great harvest last year to fix our housing structures?” A she-wolf asked during an annual pack meeting.

“The Beta talked about a tertiary school that would get built so our children wouldn’t attend human colleges, but that hasn’t been mentioned ever since!” another member complained.

“The only thing that has been done in the last five years is a training ground that has only been used by the Luna and her brother, Xander. This is unfair!”

I fought the urge to roll my eyes because none of them were grateful for anything Leo and I were doing for them.

They always found something to complain about, and that irritated me. So, I sat there with my hand on my cheek, wondering when the damn meeting would be over.

“Isn’t the Luna supposed to serve us and listen to our pleas?” A scout stood up, and the crowd erupted in unison.
