The Battered Wife's Revenge

“Despite your lies, I still couldn’t find in my heart to hate you.”

He lied to me, he always does, and all of his promises to become the better man were all nothing, but empty words to coax me so that he could fooled me more.

And there he was….dancing on the center with the woman he told me not to get jealous about. He was looking at her with love, with pride as they were watched in awe. They are a beautifully matched couple, perfect for one another.

A tear fell from my eyes, when he announced their engagement, finally someone he is not force to be with. There are howls of approval, of glee as each cheered loudly.

Finally, he choose the one he loves and not the one he married.

His gaze meet mine. Romanov’s eyes widened, when he realized that I was here all along, watching the scene unfold.

“Anna!”

 I couldn’t endure it much longer.

I smiled at him, and stood up. I quickened my face as the marble floors clock on each steps I take.

“Anna, stop!”

But I couldn’t stop. If I let him cradled me again on his arms, I knew for sure that I will fall trap on the lies he’ll weave for me to believed.

“I am ordering you to stop—!”

But it’s too late. A forceful black mass tackled me on the ground. A shaky gasp left my lips parted as it throw my back on the cemented wall. A painful throbbing pain registered and I whimpered. My defenses are low, and I was crying, wailing for my own husbands treacherous lies.

I heard a few shouting, screaming on the distant. I watched from my blurry vision a steam of men clad on black came out from the mansion. He was ahead of them, he looks mad, worried mad, but he can’t fool me anymore.

Before darkness threatened to take me, my mind beg for him to save us, but when that same woman cling on his arms and he stops pursuing the assailant—I knew for sure he made a choice.

He chose her.

It’s too late…and in my heart, I know that I’ll die with the grudge he uprooted.
