WHAT IS MINE

CHAPTER 6: WHAT IS MINE

“They won’t let me go out there, daddy.” Natasha came back, her furrow brows shows frustration, but it wasn’t just her. Her entire family are stressed out, now that David’s men are guarding their house for the meantime to make sure that they wouldn’t run away.

“Damn it!” Mathew cursed.

“Oh, sweetheart, it’s not your fault.” His wife came to him. “If there’s somebody to blame, it’s not you, nobody between us…but it’s Anna.”

“That witch still causes us trouble, even if she wasn’t here!” Natasha agreed.

“Don’t worry, we’ll get through it…” But then, a wicked idea came to Ellen’s head. “Wait. Since we’ve already marry her off, why don’t we get something from it, honey?”

“You’re talking about digging our own grave, Ellen.” Mathew rolled his eyes. “If David won’t kill us, then we’ll probably die living in that mansion. The Salvador’s are evil; they are savages— “

“Not to any woman.” A wretched smile spread from her lips. “Don’t worry, I have a plan.”

ANNA’S POINT OF VIEW

They are not as bad as they look.

Mrs. Salvador is the sweetest person that I’ve ever meet.

“I really like you for my son, Anna. You are beautiful, and kind, and I wouldn’t wonder why wouldn’t Roman chose you.” She chuckled, her laugher eases the tension on my shoulder, lifting my confidence after their arrival.

A guilty feeling churned my insides, she looks genuine. Only, if she knew that it is not the marriage she has in mind.

“I guess so.” I smiled awkwardly.

I can still feel the penetrating gaze coming from her husband. That made me uncomfortable to the lies I was trying to weave here, while waiting for my good husband to show up.

“Where is he anyway?” Diana Salvador wander on the empty seat beside me.

“Well, he’s caught up with something— “

I was stopped midway, when Diana shot up from her seat to greet the upcoming devil himself.

“My dear boy! You grew up to be a handsome man!”

I glanced to the pair, my smile faded upon seeing that Romanov did not arrive alone. Behind him was a beautiful woman.

Who cares about them?

But I couldn’t tear my eyes off from her. She has the body that every man could die for, hugs with a pastel colored dress that made her standout. My subconscious made me both admire her, but I am just wondering where this envy is coming from as well.

“I didn’t know that you were bringing Delilah with you.” Diana sounded skeptical, when she notices her presence. “Anyway, your wife is waiting at the table, let’s go.”

If his mother knew her, then there might have been a history going on between the two. Much worst, they might be fucking each other. The mere thought made me enraged.

My nose flared, and my mind was clouded with them—naked, embracing each other, and sharing one bed. My fist clench. Without thinking, I drank the entire glass I was offered earlier that was filled with whisky. The bitter taste draws on my throat, but I show no emotion.

Romanov sits beside me, and on his left was Delilah.

“You’re waiting for me?” And he still has the guts to lean, and whisper those words to me.

I don’t know why I was so bitter about it.

“Why don’t you just scoot over, and talk to your bitch on the side instead of?” I am not sure, where that courage came from.

I instantly saw his eyes darkened.

“Watch your mouth, Anna.” For no apparent reason, I wasn’t scared with his threats.

“Or else what?” I slurred.

Am I drunk?

“You wouldn’t want to know.” His hot breath fanned across my face.

Delilah only watches us from the side. I can see her from my peripheral vision. It was jealousy I could sense from her.

Try me.” I licked my lips.

A low growl came from his throat. Romanov’s eyes are dark with desire.

“You really are trying my patient, woman.” He made an attempt to grab my arms, but that’s when the music began. Somebody pulled me away from my raging husband.

He’s like a bull. I giggled at that thought.

“Penny for your thoughts?” The one who was holding my waist chuckled.

When I looked up, I was meet with a beautiful, and soft pair of ruby colored eyes, much more different to the darkness that hovers Romanov’s.

“Johann, right?” If I remember correctly that’s the name that Diana had introduced to me.

He is Romanov’s eldest brother, but between the pair—he looks more like the eldest. Johann have this light aura around him that made me felt at ease.

“That’s right, but you can also call me darling.” He grins mischievously.

Might have I forgotten that he’s a little coquettish?

“I don’t think so that my husband would like that.”

He only laughs at my remarks.

“You think so? What if I told you that he’s sleeping with Delilah, would that change your mind?” He was frank.

I didn’t believe my ears at first.

“Excuse me?” The playfulness on my voice faded.

“Sorry about, I shouldn’t have rat my brother like that,” his apology is fake.

The comfort I felt from him vanish. My smile falter. With lips set on a firm straight line, I looked at him dead in the eyes.

“What do you want from me?”

The moment our eyes meet; his orbs was no longer soft. In my view, they will full of malice as if Johann is up to something that I certainly wouldn’t like.

He leans closer.

“I’m just curious on why would he pick another fragile thing to play again.” Cold voice drifted like ice.

He was blocking my view from the table.

“You’re just nothing…” With a mocking voice, Johann grab my chin harshly.

“Stop it.” I warned him.

“What would you do? Kick me on the shin?” He clicked his tongue.

“No, but as I have mentioned, I don’t think so that my husband would like how you treat me— “

Before he could say anything, Romanov was already. His fist crashes on Johann’s left cheek, before he could say anything.

“Ugh…!”

“Rome!”

“Oh my god! Stop it, you two!”

Romanov stood there like a God. I couldn’t see face, but when I do, my throat became dry. His eyes are much darker, threatening aura that upholds no mercy. His penetrating gaze stared back at my soul.

But what made me terrified is the emotion I could sense from him.

It was the killing intent. A promising kill he could execute for me.
