Chapter 1

Autor: Summer Sway
My gaze locked onto Sue Sanford's glaring social media post.

In an instant, my entire body began to shake uncontrollably, and my phone slipped from my hand.

"Bayndemar…"

Almost at the same moment, Leo Kelman slammed open the door to my office and rushed inside, crying out, "Ryan! Sue's gone missing! Her location is showing Bayndemar!"

Panic covered his face. Behind him, my secretary looked helpless.

"Mr. Parell, I couldn't stop him…"

Leo's frantic shouting snapped me back to reality.

That was when I realized… I had been reborn.

Bayndemar. A horrifying hell on earth.

Terrifying memories crashed over me like a tidal wave. Every bone in my body ached as though it were being crushed all over again. I jerked my head up, my eyes bloodshot as I glared at Leo.

"You…!"

But he mistook my reaction for worry over Sue. Grabbing my hand anxiously, he said, "Ryan, Sue always replies to my messages instantly… but I haven't been able to reach her these past two days! Do you think—do you think she might've been taken into one of those kidnappers' compounds? She's such a delicate girl. If she's really stuck in a place like that…"

My heart sank violently.

Scenes from my previous life—the humiliation and torture I endured inside those Bayndemar compounds—cut into me like blades carving flesh from bone.

To save Sue, I sold every asset my parents had left me and traveled alone to the kidnappers' compound in Bayndemar. I thought it would be a simple exchange: money for her freedom.

Instead, I was captured by the compound's leader.

They beat me day and night, worked me like an animal, and when I was barely clinging to life, they dragged me onto an operating table to harvest my organs.

Yet, even at the moment of my death, I was still praying for Sue's safety.

The compound leader saw this and let out a mocking laugh. With a cruel grin, he initiated a video call.

"Ey, Ms. Sanford," he sneered, "your boyfriend sure loves you. Should we let him go?"

I stared blankly at the screen.

On the other end, Sue was completely unharmed. Leo—the boy I had sponsored for years—was holding her in his arms.

She looked at me with utter disdain.

"He's so filthy. Why would I want him back?" she said coldly. "I'm tired of playing with him. He's useless now, so just get rid of him. If anyone's to blame, it's him for being stupid."

Leo provocatively kissed her cheek and laughed.

"Sue, don't say that. If it weren't for his ransom money, how could we be living this comfortably?"

I only remembered that, during those few short minutes, I bit straight through my own lower lip. My eyes burned with regret, but I couldn't even cry.

That soul-piercing agony remained vivid even after being reborn.

Snapping back to the present, I shoved Leo's hand away and said coldly to my secretary, "If she's missing, call the police."

The secretary immediately picked up my phone, but Leo slapped it out of her hand.

"Ryan! Are you insane? Calling the police will alert the kidnappers! Sue will be in even greater danger!"

I forced down the murderous urge surging inside me and leaned back in my chair. A faint, icy smile tugged at my lips as I looked at him.

"You seem awfully certain that Sue was taken by one of those compounds."

We followed Sue the entire way until she arrived at an unremarkable little food stall. She sat there as if waiting for someone.About ten minutes later, a vicious-looking man approached her.I would have recognized that face even if it had been burned to ashes.A local police officer explained, "Aymus is a wealthy man from Wada Village. He's extremely influential around here. No one dares provoke him."My heart tightened instantly."Leo was probably captured by him!"But the officer looked troubled."Aymus has an excellent reputation in the village. He donates generously and helps the locals all the time. People treat him like a benefactor. Searching his home would be incredibly difficult."I sucked in a sharp breath. I never expected that monster to wear such a perfect mask of kindness.Sue opened something to look at and excitedly said a few words in Bayndemarese. The officer beside me translated in a low voice."She said the gambling debt has been repaid, and she'll send

In the interview livestream, Sue described the incident with a look of panic on her face."They had electric batons. They didn't give me food all day… they tortured me… they only wanted money. I originally thought my fiancé would pay the ransom, but I never expected…"As she spoke, she even pulled up her clothing to reveal a large patch of scars."When they didn't get the money, they subjected me to even more horrific torture."Those scars had clearly existed long before I had ever been with her.She looked straight into the camera and said softly, "But I don't blame him… because I love him."Sue really was like a foul insect in a sewer—she didn't just bite; she was disgusting to the core. The moment the interview aired, public opinion exploded.Sue instantly became the "Most Miserable Girlfriend of the Year," while I was labeled the "Most Ruthless Boyfriend."The online backlash was overwhelming—far worse than before. But her stunt went too far this time. It even drew the at

I shook my head."If you call the police, she'll just figure out my location more easily. Do this instead—tell her I've given you a new address and asked you to deliver it there. I'll secretly arrange for people to follow you and ensure your safety."Once you arrive, just drop off the cake and leave. Don't engage with her. If she leaves you a bad review, I'll compensate you."The girl didn't say anything further. After hanging up, I arranged for my family's bodyguards to discreetly follow her.As expected, Sue kept trailing her at a distance the entire time.My men stayed with the girl the whole way until she safely left.Unable to obtain my address, Sue began staking out my company every day.Even though I took great care to avoid her, she still managed to intercept me at the entrance of the building."Ryan, why have you been avoiding me these past few days? I already explained everything to the police. I only asked for the ransom to ensure my personal safety and minimize you

After Sue was taken away, I immediately contacted a moving company and a locksmith. The entire process happened so quickly that even I found it unbelievable.Seven years. I had actually lived with a piece of trash like her for seven whole years.Just thinking about it made my skin crawl. While packing, I discovered a spare tablet of Sue's hidden deep inside the closet.I don't know what came over me, but I turned it on.One of her secret social media accounts was still logged in.As expected, Leo was pinned at the very top of her chat list. But what I hadn't expected was the dozens of other men filling her contacts—men with suggestive profile pictures and flirtatious nicknames.I opened a few conversations. The obscene messages inside were so disgusting they made me physically nauseous.I wondered whether Leo would cry his eyes out if he ever found out.I let out a cold laugh and turned to the movers."Guys, throw all of this away. Don't leave a single thing behind."The

To be honest, when I caught Sue and Leo together, my hands had been shaking so badly that the video I recorded on my phone came out blurry. But the moment the footage started playing, the conference room exploded into chaos anyway. The coworkers who had been fussing over Sue just moments ago now backed away from her like she was contagious."No way… Ms. Sanford… you actually pulled something like this? Using those Bayndemar scam-compound stories to trick Mr. Parell out of his money?""We almost fell for it! You're terrifying!"Someone even reached out to touch the "blood" on Sue's face, their tone dripping with mockery."So it was all fake? What's the difference between you and someone who murders their husband for insurance money?"Sue violently slapped the person's hand away and shouted with forced bravado, "What nonsense are you talking about?! Watch it, or I'll sue you for slander!"Leo immediately chimed in to defend her."That's right, officer! Ryan probably fabricated t

I looked up at Leo, who was frozen in shock."And you," I said coldly, "I won't be sponsoring you anymore. So don't go around telling people you know me. It's embarrassing."Even his voice trembled as he spoke."If… if Sue comes back, she'll never forgive you…!"My secretary stood off to the side and asked cautiously, "Mr. Parell, what should we do now?"I gave a dismissive hum, my face full of impatience."No matter what, she's still our employee. Even if she's useless, call the police anyway. I don't want outsiders saying our company lacks basic humanity."During all this, Leo still tried to stop us, but I cut him off with a cold stare."Didn't you say you cared about Sue? Then why are you trying to stop me from getting the police to save her? What exactly are you trying to do?"The secretary ignored him after that and immediately picked up the phone to call the police. The moment Leo left, I handed my secretary the secretly recorded video from earlier."Upload this online
