Doomed

The next day was a Thursday morning and the whole place was already arranged and looking all clean. Sanitation was one thing the Wilfred’s never played with.

Ashley tossed restlessly on the bed as the early beautiful sunrise penetrated through the window and settle on her cheeks. She yawned tiredly while she tossed on the bed.

Dragging her dowdy self to seat uprightly on the bed, she teased her eyes with her hands sending the sleep away and reached out to her phone

“Gosh it's past 9” she cursed under her breath and quickly dived into the bathroom brushed her teeth and stepped out of the room.

“Good morning ma” she greeted her mother-in-law before taking a sit in the dining the moment she got down while Mrs. Wilfred replied aggressively.

“Do you come down to greet your parents at this late hour of the morning” she roared trying to get on Ashley's nerves, but Ashley rolled her eyeball before taking a seat.

“And the last time I checked you're neither of my parents” she replied casually and took a sit opposite Kai.

“I won't watch you talk to my mum in those manners” he paused his food and turned to Ashley with fire burning in his eyes.

“It's not my fault that your mother doesn't like me, not like I'm interested in this marriage” she muttered trying to suppress the conflict. She is just not in for a fight this morning. As if Kai was reading her, he sighed and turned to his food while Mrs. Wilfred ordered for her food to be sent up.

“Kai, your brother will be at the airport in less than an hour, can you pick him up from the airport” she stood up preparing to go to her room. She just can't share the same air with Ashley and Kia scoffed .

“Look mummy, I'm not some sort of a bodyguard, neither am I a driver, he would find his way home” he replied sarcastically and mum sighed.

“You seriously have to get rid of the hate you have for him and start treating him like you should” she halted her steps

“I don't hate him, mother, I just can't be a personal driver, the last time I checked he is over 25” he replied and sipped from his tea.

“I have to go now!” he muttered and peck his mum on the cheeks trying so much to avoid the next conversation before leaving, ignoring Ashley .

The rest of the meal was quiet as Ashley was grateful they both left her in peace.

Mrs. Wilfred hates Ashley with every vein in her blood

While Ashley sees her as a narcissistic and egotistical person, with that she has lost all the respect she has for her.

An hour later

A car drove in and parked neatly at the parking lot. A young guy aged 25 stepped out of the car looking handsome, his hair was blonded and packed in a ponytail, and he has this set of almond green eyes, his skin was soft and pale white, he had this Aura of peace.

Stepping into the mansion all the guards bowed to him while he walked in, which he did well by ignoring their greetings.

He took the stairs and went straight to his mum's room knowing that the maids and guards will have all the luggage arranged in his room. He placed a knock on the door and his mum replied.

“Welcome home son” Mrs. Wilfred beamed excitingly the moment he opened the door. He walked closer to his mum and she pulled him into a hug the moment he got close to her.

“Thanks, mum” he submitted to the hug.

“you know I have missed you a lot” he beamed and Mrs. Wilfred ruffle his hair with her hands.

“I have missed you too,” she giggled slightly.

“You look really handsome, I guess Canadian weather fits you well” she complimented, and Rex scoffed.

“Come on mummy, I was gone for only two weeks” he replied and plucked himself into the bed, and Mrs. Wilfred sighed.

“There is no way you are sitting here go in and freshen up I will ask the maids to prepare something sumptuous for you” She exclaimed and he pouted and giggled at the same time before leaving the room.

After a long refreshing bath, he decided to cheek up on his brother.

Rex Wilfred is the youngest son of the Wilfred family. He loves his mum and eldest brother so much, but the love was not reciprocated by his brother. Despite knowing his brother hates him so much, he cares so much and always wants to be around him. Although Mrs. Wilfred loves Rex one can easily notice how much she loves and Cherish Kai because he does everything to support his mum.

After having a long refreshing shower he dried his hair and fixed it into a ponytail, he reached out for a pant and a top wore them and dashed out of his room ready to go and make trouble with his brother.

Stepping into Kai’s room, he met nobody inside but he could hear the sound of water in the bathroom so he decided to wait.

As much as he wants to just sit down without touching anything, his hands kept rebelling against him. Rex knows how much his brother hates him but he still derived joy from getting on his nerves.

After what took like forever Ashley finally decided to end the bath and step out of the bathroom with her towel half tied.

The door to the bathroom opens and Rex turned back to surprise his brother but was met with the biggest shock of his life.

“Ashley!” he called out for her attention and her towel came dangling down the moment she turned to stare at the owner of the voice.

Another second didn't intervene and the door to the room opened revealing Kai.

He stood by the door looking confused, he needs someone to explain what was going on and why was Ashley standing stark naked in front of Rex. He doesn’t want to believe Rex was trying to force himself on her, but that's what it looked like to him.

The three of them stared simultaneously at each other then it dawned on her that she was standing stark naked in the presence of the two men. She quickly reached out for her towel and began to arrange them while Kai on the other side bounced on Rex.

“What are you doing here?” he roared like a wounded animal and Ashley flinched while Rex stood there without culturing a word. He just doesn't understand the whole scene.

“How dare you try to harass my wife ?” Kai roared as anger resounded in his voice and he began to punch Rex who also reciprocated, although he wasn't sure if he heard Kai right. Why was he referring to Ashley as his wife?

Ashley stood there looking hopeless, she quickly began to plead with Rex which he obeyed and stopped himself from throwing another punch.

Although he has succeeded in listening to her, his heart aches to hear from her, how did she end up marrying his brother.

“Get out of my room!”Kai yelled and Rex stared at Ashley for the very last time before stepping out.

Kai shut the door and turned to face Ashley, with anger written over him, his red blazing eyes pierced her skin and she stepped backward in fear.
