“Miss Valvet?” the man called as I got out of the car with Fiona, and I nodded.

“Please, after me,” he said politely, leading the way.

“Mom, can I make new friends here?” Fiona asked innocently, her small hand wrapped around my fingers. I opened my mouth to answer, but the man leading the way replied before I could speak.

“No, my dear. This place is only meant for adults. Just make sure you stay close to your mom and don’t wander about.”

“You don’t have to worry. My princess is well behaved,” I replied, giving Fiona a soft smile. He stopped in front of a suite before unlocking it, and the door opened with a soft beep.

He handed me the key. “Thank you, Mister…?”

“Mister Pagnole!” he replied with a warm smile. “A phone is available if you need anything. You can just give us a call and we will be at your service.”

I nodded and looked around the place…high ceilings, quiet lighting, expensive furniture arranged in perfect symmetry. Everything screamed luxury and silence.

Mia I winced as he applied the ointment on my hand. He didn’t meet my gaze, not even once. His jaw was tight, and his eyes were fixed on the small wound like the sight alone offended him. Why was he even angry? Had he caught me checking his phone? Was that why he suddenly turned cold? I bit down hard on my lower lip, holding back the urge to ask him directly. He kept working on my hand in silence, the kind of silence that felt heavier than shouting. “She did nothing wrong,” I finally muttered. “I insisted on cooking. It wasn’t her fault.” He still didn’t lift his eyes to look at me. That bothered me more than anything. His silence was killing me, hearing him threaten, scold, or even snap felt better than this cold wall he was building. When he was done, he closed the box and stood up without a word. He didn’t even look back at me. I quickly rose to my feet, heat burning my chest. “Why are you not saying anything?” I asked quickly as he walked away. He halted and turned, his

MiaAs I lay on the bed with my back pressed against his chest, Rolex tucked his head into the crook of my neck like he was trying to breathe me in and trap the scent inside him forever. His arm was draped lazily over my waist, but the weight of it made my heart tighten. My mind kept running in circles, stuck between telling him about the wedding invitation or keeping it buried like a shameful secret. Pretending I knew nothing would be easier, but the thoughts wouldn’t stop pushing at the back of my head even after he told me to trust him, no matter what doubts were trying to pull me away.“What are you thinking?” he murmured against my skin, his warm breath fanning over the sensitive spot of my neck.“Nothing,” I whispered. A lie…it was weak and obvious. He shifted. In one smooth movement, he rolled me onto my back and leaned over me. His eyes were half-lidded with sleep, but sharp enough to cut right through my lie.“I can tell when something is on your mind,” he said. His tone was

RolexI arrived home a little past eleven…later than I had planned.Something urgent had come up at the company, the kind of problem Kay would have handled in my place. But since he wasn’t around, I had to go myself. By the time everything was settled, frustration had already settled like a weight on my shoulders. The compound was quiet when I stepped out of the car. The kind of silence that told me the kids were already asleep. Still, I walked to each of their rooms to check on them… It eased something in me, even if only a fraction. But the moment I headed toward my room, toward where I knew Mia would be…that earlier frustration dissolved into something else entirely. That picture. The one she sent earlier…Her damp hair, my shirt hanging open on her chest, her skin glowing like she’d been made to tempt me on purpose. And the fact that she deleted it after I saw it only made it worse. It had been hours since she sent it, and I hadn’t replied. Not because I didn’t want to…but because

Rolex“I’m sorry…” Kay managed to mutter, his voice barely audible, but I heard him clearly from where I leaned against the wall. He looked different from the day I brought him here, still weak and pale, but at least recovering.“For what exactly?” I asked. He swallowed hard, staring straight up at the ceiling as though the truth was written there. He struggled for the words, but I already knew what he was trying to confess… or what I feared wasn’t even the full truth, considering the poison Ruby had fed him and the lies she sowed.“I made a mistake,” he started quietly. “I let myself get distracted and I complicated everything for you.”I didn’t respond. I wanted to see how far he would go.He continued, “Despite knowing how everyone has treated you in the past, I somehow ended up doing the same thing. I deserve every unfortunate thing that happened to me. And I’ll accept any punishment you think I deserve.”I pushed off the wall and took a few steps toward him.“You don’t tell me wh

RubyRuby sat alone at a small table in the café, bouncing her leg restlessly as she bit at her nails. Her blood boiled with rage. She needed to get rid of Mia. She needed her out of the picture completely. The humiliation from earlier still burned under her skin, replaying in her mind like a taunt she couldn’t silence. How dare she mock her.Just because Rolex took Mia and her daughter into that house did not give her the right to stand at the door and speak to her like she was nothing. Just because he offered them shelter didn’t mean Mia suddenly mattered more than her. Ruby clenched her fists under the table. That girl… that useless woman… had no idea who she was dealing with. She would get her kicked out. Out of that house. Out of Rolex’s life. Out of existence if that’s what it took. Her anger kept rising the more she thought about it. How Mia hadn’t even been moved when she handed her the invitation card. How she hadn’t flinched when Ruby told her she was getting married to R

MiaI woke up to sunlight slipping through the thin lines of the curtains, painting faint golden stripes across the bed. My body felt heavy, tired in a pleasant way that came from sleeping too long… and from being exhausted by yesterday’s activities. A deep ache settled in my muscles, a reminder of every moment me that had pushed me to the edge and dragged me back.Rolling to the side, I immediately realized the space beside me was empty. Rolex wasn’t there. My eyes opened wider, a strange flutter of fear rushing up my chest. I didn’t know why waking up without him scared me, it wasn’t like I expected him to hold me forever but something about seeing that empty spot made my heart drop.I pushed myself upright, wrapping the sheet around my naked body before stepping away from the bed. I walked to the dressing table where I remembered leaving my phone the night before.I picked it up quickly, I opened the call log and dialed his number. Before it even connected, I heard the ringtone ec
