When I next awoke there was silence, save for a soft rustling sound that I presumed to be bracken and trees. There was some light streaming through the fabric of my blindfold now, too, and I felt more together than when I’d last been conscious.

 

I shifted each individual part of my body, trying to decipher where I’d been restrained and how this time. It seemed as though they really had left my legs free, which seemed like an incredible oversight to me. It was one I would happily take, however, as it increased my chances of escape.
