Dorian’s POV

Sera and I moved immediately the guard reported the arrival of the twins and their movement to the palace prison. We didn’t slow down— not after what the guard just told us, not after the realization that the twins had returned for Caden.

The corridors blurred as we moved. Sera was beside me, her pace matching mine perfectly. There was no hesitation in her steps. No fear or confusion, just focus and I could feel it.

I didn’t say anything.

Neither did she.

Because if we started tal

Dorian’s POV “And are you sure you included the fact that you drugged her and you took advantage of her that night?”, he asked. “Hmmm…. Did you tell her that you are the father of her children?”. I left the palace prison an hour ago and I have been in my room since then but what Caden told me hasn’t left my mind. I have tried all I could to take it off my mind but it still keeps coming back at me. I took a shower and sat down on the chair in the room while staring at Sera that’s sleeping on the bed as the memory of that night flooded my mind even when I didn’t want it to. I had a meeting with some higher pack members that night close to velvet eclipse when I got a report from Logan that I have a work to do for the Alpha of the Voss Palace. “Your Highness", Logan had called me when he entered the room the meeting was taking place that night. “You have a call from Alpha Caden”, he reported. “What?”, I was surprised and happy at the same time because getting a call from the most ex

Dorian’s POV “Apologies for barging in my lords”, he bowed slightly before he continued. “A section of the palace has exploded”. The moment the guard said that, I stopped thinking about whatever conversation I was having with Sera. “Where?”, I asked sharply, already stepping past him as I dashed out of the room with Sera behind me. “The lower wing”, he replied quickly, trying to keep up with me as I moved. I didn’t slow down and I didn’t look back because every second mattered now. As I stepped outside the corridor, everything had already turned into chaos with the guards rushing past and servants pressing against walls. “Sera”, I called over my shoulder, “stay behind me”, I told her with a firm and calm voice. “I’m not staying anywhere and where I stay is none of your business”, she snapped and rolled her eyes angrily. I sighed softly and moved away from the spot because this isn’t the best time to go into arguments with her. “Your highness”, someone called beside me and I turne

Sera’s POV As he looked at me and started talking, I didn’t interrupt him and I did not move, because whatever he was about to say had already begun to reshape everything I thought I understood about him, about that night, and about the thin line that had always existed between truth and what we chose to hide from each other. The next thing he said as his gaze didn’t leave mine made me lose my composure as I staggered and fell on the available chair in the room. “That night when Caden called me to go into the club…”, he paused. “He told me to make sure you meet a man and have records of it”. That was what he said and I lost it immediately. I didn’t bother standing up from the chair I fell on. All I did was just stare at him as he was still on his knees and hold my head to keep up with the fragments of memory that were dropping in my mind. “I didn’t have a choice than to do what he had told me that night because he had a strong hold on me”, he continued. “Caden had been watching me

Sera’s POV As I laid down beside Dorian with my head placed on his chest and my arms wrapped around him, all I had in my head was what that woman that looked like me had told me earlier. “I don’t even know her name”, I thought. Velvet Eclipse My head was still full with the thoughts of what I heard from my supposed mother when that word interrupted my thoughts. I let my thoughts stay quiet for a while but then I kept hearing the word over and over again. That was when I realized it was Dorian’s thoughts. When I transformed fully at the palace gates a few months ago, Roran had told me that I would occasionally hear people’s random thoughts as that was one of the powers and maybe skills they possessed as werewolves. Ever since then, I have heard people’s random thoughts. Guards running everywhere to fulfil their daily tasks. Servants and maids moving around to make sure that things are put in place. I have no choice but to hear their thoughts even when it is irritating and annoying

Dorian’s POV After so much back and forth in the council chamber, we ended the meeting. The meeting did not end with agreement and it didn’t end with resolution. It ended with something I would consider dangerous and sensitive. While in the meeting, the council members and I had argued and still no solution was found because I won’t agree to the release of Caden not after the chaos he has caused. “We have to reschedule this meeting”, one of the members said while raising up his hand when the heat in the room was getting too intense. “We need more time to think and look for the appropriate solution”, he added. “That’s right. I agree”, another one said. And since I was already getting tired and fed up with the drama in the room, I agreed immediately without even giving it a proper thought. “That is right. We will be having this meeting again in two days”, I said as I brushed my hands through my hair because I was frustrated. “Two days and be ready to give up the position of the act

A few days before the council meeting with DorainCaden’s POVPrison was never meant to hold me, and every second I remained behind these walls only strengthened the certainty that this was temporary, because power like mine was not erased by iron bars or locked doors, it only waited, watched, and chose the right moment to return. The cell was quiet, but I was not.I sat against the cold wall with my head tilted slightly back, my eyes half closed not from rest but from calculation, because while the palace above continued to pretend that control had shifted, I knew better than to believe that anything had truly changed.Power had not left me.It had simply moved out of sight. And now—It was time to take it back.My fingers tightened slightly around the small device hidden beneath the folds of my sleeve, the weight of it insignificant compared to what it represented, because getting a phone into this cell had not been easy, and the guard who smuggled it in had done so with shaking han
