Alexander's POV

The battlefield was filled with clashing steel, and the cries of the wounded. The scent of blood thickened the air.

I led the charge. My claws moved through the enemy ranks, cutting down the wolves of the Dune Kingdom without hesitation.

My claws slashed through flesh, severing limbs.

One lunged at me from the side.

He was a massive wolf with fangs bared and claws outstretched.

I ducked under his swipe, pivoting smoothly before driving my claws into his gut.

His breath hitched. His eyes widened in shock before I twisted my claws and ripped them free.

Blood sprayed across my face, warm and sticky. He crumpled at my feet. His body twitched before going still.

I heard another snarl behind me.

Instinct took over.

I spun, raising my hand just in time to block an incoming strike. The force sent tremors up my arms, but I held my ground.

My opponent, a Dune warrior with sand-colored fur, pushed against my hand with strength.

"You fight well, Alpha," he sneered, fangs flashing.

ELIZA’S POVThe moment we arrived at the camp, the air grew heavier. My heart pounded in my chest—not from nerves, but from the electricity in the air.And then, I saw him.Alexander stood near the center of the camp, speaking in hushed tones with the other marshals and generals.Even in crowd of warriors, he commanded attention with an effortless authority that sent shivers down my spine. There was something attractive about the way he carried himself. As if sensing my gaze, he turned. My breath hitched. Those intense blue eyes locked onto mine.In that moment, it felt as if we were the only two people in the world. I could feel my stomach getting heated up.My throat went dry, and for one reckless second, I let myself drown in the intensity of his stare. His expression was unreadable, but there was something there—something dark something that made my pulse race.I looked away. Quickly.Damn him.I forced myself to focus as I walked towards the gathering warriors.Vivi, Cynthia, Rod

ALEXANDER’S POVThe moment Eliza stepped into the tent with her companions, my gaze followed her involuntarily. It wasn’t intentional, nor was it something I had control over. She commanded my attention like a force of nature.I had this strong irresistible pull that left me helpless against it.I had never felt like this towards anyone before.Honestly? I never thought I could. The feeling I had for her was genuine and so strong that it made me scared sometimes. Her movements had this grace about them.Everything she did was calculated, yet there was an exhaustion in the way she carried herself. My eyes trailed down to her shoulder, and there, I saw an injury. Not only that, but there was blood. It was a fresh wound. I couldn’t help but feel concerned at the sight of it.My wolf was restless, demanding I protect my mate. The sight of her injured made me want to kill whoever did this to her.Damn it, Eliza. She had been pushing herself too hard again. It wasn’t surprising—she was stub

THIRD PERSON’S POVThe cold wind moved through the city walls of Illyria.Viktor Simons, Marshal of the Western Plains, stood on top of the balcony, looking over everything. In the distance, he could see the Lycan Kingdom’s camp. His gloved hands were clenched behind his back. The scent of wolves filled the air, sending a shudder through his own beast. His wolf stirred, not with fear, but with total hate.Viktor’s white hair remained untouched by the wind, but the cold air wrapped around him, making each exhale a cloud of ice.He could hear the snow crunching under the boots of approaching soldiers.Marshal Chandler of the Dune Kingdom was with them.Unlike Viktor, Chandler had spent his years fighting in the heat of the dunes, and the bitter cold of this northern front did little to suit him.“This march has taken its toll,” Chandler said, coming closer to Viktor, “The men need rest, Viktor. They’ve crossed leagues of frozen wasteland. Pushing them any harder may break them before ba

ELIZA’S POVI woke slowly. My body was heavy with exhaustion and my mind was reluctant to pull itself from the depths of much-needed sleep. The first thing I noticed was warmth. My eyelids fluttered open, and the sight of the canopy above me made my breath hitch.Alexander’s bed.The realization hit me hard and I turned my head to the side. He sat there, leaning against a table watching me with that intense look of his.“You’re awake,” he said softly.I smiled “I am.”His eyes searched my face. “How did you sleep?”“Well enough,” I replied, stretching beneath the sheets. I did not tell him how rare such rest was for me.And then I saw it—the worry in his eyes. The way his lips pressed together, as if he were holding something back.I sat up, my pulse quickening. “What is it?”Alexander hesitated. That alone made my stomach tighten. He was not a man who hesitated.“Eliza,” he began. He seemed hesitant “I received a letter not too long ago.”His hesitation only made my heart pound harde

ELIZA’S POVI found myself face-to-face with Alexander. His blue eyes softened as he studied me. He had something in his eyes—concern, maybe even understanding.“Eliza,” he said gently “I know how you feel. Learning the truth like that… it’s a lot to take in. But drinking yourself into oblivion won’t change anything.”I swallowed hard, not wanting to meet his gaze. It wasn’t just the truth that had sent me spiraling—it was everything. The war, the constant fight for survival, the fact that my father and brother died for this. But then, Alexander’s eyes landed on the flask still in my grip. His gaze lingered, and I could see the discipline in his expression wavering ever so slightly.Ah.I knew that look. I’d seen it plenty of times from soldiers and other travelers alike. He wanted a drink.Biting back a smile, I rubbed at my sore nose, pretending not to notice. I didn’t say a word as Alexander turned on his heel and walked toward the command tent with the flask in hand.Boone’s jaw d

ALEXANDER’S POVI stepped inside the war tent. My eyes immediately locked on the weary figure slumped in the chair before me.Despite the grime caking her skin, the dried blood at her temple, and the shadows beneath her eyes, Eliza was still the most breathtaking sight I had ever laid eyes on.She looked different now—no longer the radiant, untouchable warrior who had once been in the Seekers Guild. She looked raw, battered, and utterly exhausted. And yet, I was still drawn to her.My throat tightened as I watched her shift slightly. Her muscles seemed stiff from battle.I stepped forward, feeling worried about her, “How are you feeling?"She lifted her gaze, and those deep brown eyes met mine. "Thirsty," she said simply. "And hungry.""I imagine so." I gestured to the plate of bread and dried meat on the small table beside her. "Eat. And drink." My tone left no room for argument. She hesitated for only a moment before reaching for the water, tilting the flask back quickly.I watched

ELIZA’S POVThe battlefield still reeked of blood and sweat. My body ached. My muscles screamed from the strain of combat, but the rush of adrenaline still coursed through my veins. The cold was supposed to hurt my skin, but I barely felt it. Not when I saw him.Alexander.He walked toward me slowly. His breathing was heavy from the fight. His dark hair was damp, filled with sweat and dirt.Yet, even covered in grime, he looked as breathtaking as ever. My heart clenched at the sight of him.A slow smile spread across his lips as he stopped in front of me.Without hesitation, he reached out and rested his forehead against mine.“You fought beautifully,” he murmured “I’m proud of you, Eliza.”A warmth spread through my chest at his words. I met his gaze with a smile “You didn’t do too bad yourself.”He chuckled “Flattery will get you everywhere, you know.”I laughed softly. People moved around us. The battlefield was still alive with movement, yet in this moment, it felt like just the t

THIRD PERSON’S POVUnder the cold moonlight, General Victor of the Western Plains looked down at the Lycan Kingdom's wolves from the towering walls of Illyria. His sharp eyes scanned the battlefield below, where the remnants of the first assault was—bodies scattered across the ground, the scent of blood thick in the air.The city’s wolves had been caught off guard, scrambling to organize their defenses. Now, the walls were lined with archers who were ready for another attack.Yet, the invading forces had withdrawn after only an hour, leaving the defenders uncertain. They were all tense.Victor exhaled sharply.Alexander’s strategy was beginning to take shape, but it was unimpressive so far.The first wave had been a feint. He knew it was meant to test their defenses. And now, as the night stretched on, the second assault came harder.A loud horn sounded from the enemy’s side, and within moments, thirty thousand wolves charged forward.Their war cries tore through the night as they ran
