LOGINAliyah's POVAfter the call with Tracy, I found myself dozing and decided to sleep. I woke up hours later, checked the time and saw 5pm. Asher and Elara were probably out there having fun, while I was here, bored. I washed my face, walked down the stairs in search of Papa, but couldn't find him anywhere. I moved to the kitchen, grabbed a glass of water and gulped it in an instant. I decided to go check Papa, knowing he was probably in the club.I haven't stepped in there since I got back. I didn't want to be reminded of the old times. But today, I moved my legs, walking into the club. It hit me. The way it had always done before I ran away from everything. The scent of oil, the sound of roaring engines, the air that says…. Welcome to a motorcycle club. I wrapped my hands around my arms, walking slowly towards the bikers who Papa was giving instruction to. I stood at a corner, watching as they rode, watching as they were corrected, watching as they put the corrections to use.
Aliyah’s POVThey'd always chose me in things like this, things that hurt. I didn't want to dwell on that, and just faced Papa once again. “How then did they lose me? I was to be killed right from birth, how did I get to grow up this much?” I asked. Papa took a deep breath and took a sip from the drink in his hands. He leaned away from the chair and resumed his tale. He said. “Your mother wouldn't let them do it. She ran away, becoming a pack rogue based on what the alpha had done. She didn't want them to kill you, also didn't know she was carrying twins” he paused then continued. “I helped her hide for months until she gave birth.” “We had it talked out before she gave birth and I agreed to take the baby and take care of her. During this time, I lived with a lady so things won't get suspicious later. When you were born and you were handed over to me, the lady left, leaving everyone thinking she birthed my child then left afterwards.” Papa narrated. After a gentle swallow, he con
Aliyah's POV“Trust me, she isn't that bad” Papa still argued in favor of his old friend. “She definitely had her reasons” “Reasons you didn't find out before you decided to just take a baby from her?” I asked with a raised brow. “Do we want to talk about the day I took you from Cynthia or about your father?” Papa asked with a frown. I cleared my throat in surrender. “Father” He nodded then continued telling the tale. “They didn't get married. She wasn't his mate. But everyone knew of their relationship. Everyone knew she was always around him, always helping him with the pack's affairs, but no one knew she was pregnant with you two.Not even the Alpha.” My gaze squinted. “Why?” Papa replied while holding my gaze. “Because she wasn't sure whether she wanted him to know. She wasn't sure whether she was ready to add you to the life of an Alpha who wasn't chosen by the moon goddess.” “She feared what would happen in the future and how it might affect you. In the end, she was glad
Aliyah's POVHe held Elara by the hand while I watched, my face neutral. Asher stopped while they were on the stairs, snapping his gaze to the back. “Papa, how've you been?” He asked. Papa lifted his gaze and chuckled. “You just realized I was here?” He didn't sound like he was getting angry, he was just amused—I could tell from his face. “I'm sorry, I was busy with Elara,” Asher apologized, a smile on his face. Papa nodded. “Of course, it's fine. And I've been well” he said. “I need to thank you for bringing Aliyah back home. I should buy you a drink sometime”Asher chuckled. “I will look forward to it” Again, he turned and walked up the stairs with Elara, both disappearing into the hallway. I leaned beside the wall, staring at my phone when I couldn't even tell what I was doing on it. All I knew was that I was waiting for Elara and Asher to get back here and tell them goodbye. Papa also picked a newspaper up, going through it. He didn't say a word to me. Maybe he just had n
Asher's POVI didn't expect Aliyah to ask that. She wanted to spend the night in my place. It wasn't something I'd ever expect her to ask. “Of course. You'll always be welcome” I said. She smiled, so sweetly I found it hard to take my gaze off her. “Alright then. I'll just take a few more glasses and leave with you” She doesn't sound drunk, but I knew she's had enough to drink. “It's enough. Let's leave” I said. She looked at me and frowned. “You think it is?” She asked. Now she's acting drunk. I stood up and grabbed her. “Yes, it is” She moved up and I walked her to the bartender, handing him my card to get the payment from. After the payment got sorted out, I walked Aliyah to my car, taking her home. The drive back to my house was short, filled with silence as Aliyah fell asleep. I carried her to the bed, placing the duvet over her, but she held my hand when I attempted to walk back out after kissing her forehead goodnight. Her eyes fluttered open when I thought she'd fall
Aliyah's POVCynthia. I just couldn't help calling that woman by her name and not the title of a mother she's supposed to be. Papa snapped his gaze to me and sighed. “Nothing you need to know about, Aliyah” I laughed because I wasn't going to buy that. “She called me. She wanted to see me. She was going to talk about my father. But you showed up and ended up talking to her instead. And you say there's nothing to know?” I wasn't pissed, but just amused that there's something Papa was willing to keep from me that involves my father. Not my father…. I would never call anyone “father” except for Papa here. “I sorted things out with her. You really don't need to know, " he said.He moved away from the counter, walking back to the room where he picked up a newspaper he had bought days ago or even months.I didn't push it further. I knew no matter how much I did, he wouldn't tell me. I moved back upstairs, standing in the hallway as I went through my phone searching for a contact. I f
