Zero POV

The morning sun cuts through the morning clouds as I ride back into the city. The rumble of my bike and the previous night a constant reminder why I am doing this, why I am taking this risk.

I have had moments since yesterday when I stopped to question myself, is it worth it? Last night gave me the definite answer to that. It's worth every single effort and sacrifice I am making.

She is worth it.

Chloe’s kisses and her moans from last night linger in my mind, but I shove them down. I can’t afford to be distracted, not today. Not when I am about to walk into the lion’s den.

Finn is already waiting for me at our agreed meet up point.

Judging from the location he sent, I can tell it's at his new strip club. It's the same place Hera was scoping out yesterday.

I can't help but scoff at how ironic everything is. Finn is playing his game right under our noses. He is thinking he is untouchable, that he will outsmart everyone else.

My hands grip the handlebars tighter.

    Hera POV After Nyx leaves the base to her house to prepare to meet with Finn, something crosses my mind. Finn being the sneaky bastard he is, I wouldn't be surprised if he already suspected something when Nyx contacted him. That means, our plan might not be full proof and that means one thing, Nyx might be in danger.I grab my phone and shoot a message to someone giving him clear instructions to follow her to her destinations and if he senses something odd, he should contact me immediately.I also shoot a message to Zeus with new instructions about the plan.     Nyx POVI lock the bathroom door behind me. My hands are shaking as I pull out my phone and shoot a text to Hera informing her that I have the target locked.She replies almost immediately, that we move on five minutes.Five minutes. I take a deep breath to calm my raging nerves. Five minutes is all I need to continue this play before I unmask that bastard.I tuck the phone back into my pocket and check my gun. After a small pep talk, convincing myself that I can do this, I leave the restroom.I slip back into the restaurant, my fake smile back in place as I slide into my seat. Finn’s gaze is on me. It feels like he is observing me, studying me even.The sight of him makes my skin crawl but I keep my voice light. “Sorry about that,” I say, picking up my fork as the waiter sets plates of overpriced steak in front of us. “I heard that you are opening a club here in Chicago.So, what’s the plan?     Nyx POVWhen the meeting ends, I leave the room and head straight to the terrace, needing some space and breath fresh air to organise my emotions.Hera gave me the go ahead to proceed with the mission and to be honest, I am not sure how I will face that bastard without killing him with my hands.I lean against the railing, staring out at the Chicago skyline. The city’s alive with lights but nothing is looking bright on our side. Don't get me wrong, I trust Hera's plans and I know that this mission, just like the others we carried out before will be a success.It's Just that I can't help but worry about Chloe who is still in Finn's hands and Mason's reaction when he hears about what Finn did to me.I am deep in my thoughts when someone clears their throat from behind me and I jump.My hand automatically flies to the gun at my hip.     Hera POV “Listen up,” I say, trying to keep my voice steady despite the storm inside me. “ We have a situation.” What follows my announcement is pin drop silence.“Finn’s got Chloe. He’s holding her to control Zero.” I declare .As usual, Nyx is the first to react openly. The chair scraps against the floor as she sits up.“ What? How did he…” she starts ,only to trail off. The others are obviously tensed by that information. They know what that means.“ That crazy bastard!” Nyx curses under her breath as she takes her position.“ Indeed. He is desperate right now knowing that we are after his ass.” I say with gritted teeth. I have to say, he outsmarted us this time. I didn't expect him to do something so extreme. I underestimated how far he is willing to go to secure that damn shipment. That tells me that whatever that shipment contains is very important. It's also something we can use to hit him where it hurts the most.“That's not all. He has moved up the delivery of the shipment

    Hera POV The engine of my bike roars as I speed back to the base. The wind whips at my face but something coils deep inside me.My heart feels uneasy for some reason and I have waves of weird emotions churning inside me. I don't know if it's because Chloe is in that bastard's hands or the reaction Zeus gave me when I changed the plans of the mission in order to rescue Chloe.I don't know why something about him unsettles me.
