"You can say that again," she chuckled, and I couldn't help but feel that her words had a different meaning.

When everything was packed, the three of us headed to the kitchen for dinner. Ten minutes into dinner, when I was halfway through the first plate, there was a knock on the door.

"It must be Beta." I nodded to my father, who stood up to answer the door.

Beta stood patiently on our deck, a grim smile appearing on his face as I opened the door.

"Zara." Beta nodded, looking at me strangely. Several guys were standing behind him, and from the looks of it, they were Alpha Kane's men.

"Everything of mine is packed. Everything is in my bedroom." I nodded to the others. "Come in."

Beta walked through the door, and the other men headed straight for my bedroom. They wasted no time in carrying out my boxes and loading them into a dark SUV.

As strange as it may sound, I trusted Beta. He wasn't a bad guy, just a man loyal to his Alpha.

"Alpha asks that I bring you to the palace myself." Beta

"Stop staring and answer me," Alpha Kane snapped, rolling his eyes.He was sitting across the room, relaxing in a large chair. He had a glass of liqueur in his hand. Judging by the sun shining through the window, it was too early for drinking."I'm not staring," I snapped, saying the first thing that came to mind.I needed a minute to think about last night, to process what had happened. I was ready to go with Marcus. Hell, I wanted to go with Marcus. His skin on mine, it felt right somehow. The part of me that wanted him was getting stronger, yearning for him more and more. That didn't make me feel any less for Alpha Kane. The heady feelings were still there, confusing me even more. I was sure one of them would be my mate, but who?I couldn't see myself with either of them. I didn't fit the role of Luna, and I wasn't sure if my mate was my ex. Both seemed odd to me, but I felt a connection to both."You're an idiot," Nova's voice growled in my head."Sorry, Nova," I frowned. "I didn

"Zara," the guy growled, glaring at me.I didn't understand what I had done wrong. My memories were coming back much slower this time. I could only assume it had something to do with the library I had built in my head. It had been fine, but now the entire library was in ruins. I would have to rebuild a lot of things once my mind cleared up."I didn't do it." I shook my head, unsure of what else to say.I remembered everything that had happened tonight, but I couldn't figure out how important it was. Why was I even here? The shirtless guy holding me raised an eyebrow at my words, but said nothing.A girl with short brown hair that brushed her shoulders ran out of the forest."Did you find him?" the guy holding me asked sharply, his eyes darkening."No." The girl shook her head, a strange light in her eyes. "He was too fast.""Beta Hunter, switch and take Deren to one of the cells." The guy carrying me barked at the red wolf.He turned to the girl with short hair. "Why is she still conf

"On the contrary, I was just about to ask you something wonderful." Marcus's voice was hoarse and smug. "Haven't you ever wondered where your brother was?"The bookshelves collapsed, each book torn at the binding. Pages scattered across the floor, each scrap covered in sloppy handwriting. My mind was clouded with thoughts of Marcus. The mental connection was severed, leaving me alone.I had only a few seconds to realize that Commander Stone was right again. I didn't understand why it surprised me every time. He was rarely wrong.Keeping my emotions and memories under control was not as easy as I had imagined. Just a few words, and my carefully collected memories were scattered to the wind.Marcus smiled successfully; his words had produced exactly the effect he had hoped for.My mind was in this delicious fog, blurring the names and faces of everyone I had ever known. The only person I remembered was Marcus. Whatever he did, it acted like a sedative, calming and relaxing me.“Why don’

I took a deep breath and walked into the forest. It was getting harder and harder to keep my mind clear. Every rustle made me turn around. I was sure Alpha Kane would show up and drag me away before I could say anything.Every sound was either Marcus coming to ruin my life or Alpha Kane coming to ruin my body. The real test came when the hole appeared. My heart skipped a beat, and the bookshelves in my head shook.“Easy, Zara,” Nova said quietly.“You can do it,” Sophia murmured over the mental link.“We’ll be with you the whole time.” Jackson nodded, and I could almost see the stupid grin on his face.I tried to imagine the anxiety leaving me, a clear oasis clearing up in my mind. The bookshelves stopped shaking and froze.I walked over to the pond, noticing how different it looked at night. The pond was where Marcus and I would come to relax, to take a break from his duties as the future Alpha. In the middle of the night, the pond looked mysterious and menacing. The usually clear wa

"So you're going to listen to him instead of me?" I snorted. "Oh wow.""You're going to get us in trouble," Nova said. "Daddy doesn't do that, and he makes amazing brownies."Daddy let me practice in my old bedroom.I lay down on the bedroom floor, positioned in the middle.Clearing my mind was incredibly difficult, which didn't surprise me.As soon as my inner voice faded, images of Kane and Marcus flashed through my mind.Kane with his luscious dark hair, perfectly tousled.Marcus with his blonde locks and porcelain skin, his mischievous gaze.I pushed the images away as hard as I could, wishing Nova would help somehow. The oasis in my head was blurry at first, the details an irritating haze. As I continued to breathe evenly, the image became clearer.Crystal blue water, waving wheat, and the scent of nature in the air.I imagined myself diving into the depths of my mind, a library growing around me.Rows of blank books lined the oak shelves, each cover a different style and color.

  • The Billionaire Alpha Rejected His True Luna   Wanted To Spend The Day With Her

Her back arched as the pleasure washed over her, and I watched her face every time. She fed on the pain mixed with the bliss; fed on the feel of her sensitive core under my touch. Not once did she beg me to stop. Despite all the whimpers and pleas, she never once said the word "stop."I let her fall asleep until late in the morning. The thought crossed my mind to leave her in her bed, but I couldn't bring myself to move. Instead, I pulled the covers over her clothed body. The creamy skin of her back was exposed, giving me a perfect view of her round bottom. The taste of her skin lingered on my tongue, sweet and rich.I woke to the sound of her shuffling in bed. A sense of possessive pride washed over me as I looked at the purple marks on her skin. The purple was especially noticeable on her chest, distracting me from the ugly red mark.I wanted to stay, wanted to spend the day with her, but life had other plans. There was work to do, especially now that I had left early. The ship carr
