A feeling of distress

Chapter 5

My chest froze inside my ribcage all at once. My jaw slacked down my jawline as he retorted without any blink of remorse. I could have choked on my words and still go ahead with my plan to reject him if the honking of a car hadn't interrupted the tensed atmosphere.

He shifted back his chair and stood up, he walks past me without a word, leaving me more dumbfounded to wonder what had just took over him. I was the one who has the right to will my body to him or not, so he has no damned right to be mad at me right now.

I walked to the window and drawing the curtain slightly, I peeked. I didn't care if I was being sneaky or caught at it. My toes cleanched from inside my heels when I caught a sight of him, approaching the main entrance with him.

Lucas!... What's he doing here?.

The scumbag was the one that obstructed my way a year ago while I was heading in a hurry to the restaurant. Had I known I would receive a sack letter that day, I would have rather stayed and showed the annoying being more piece of me.

I didn't even have the time to process my next action until I heard the front door opening, and quickly ran up the stairs to the room next to Davies so as not to wake him up. My heart was beating hysterically in a more faster and unrhymed motions as I closed the door shut, resting my back against it with heavy exhales.

Damn! He found me.

"No..."I shook my head. He doesn't know I am here, there's no way he could possibly have known. I tried all my best to deny it to myself, my feelings visibly unclear to my own very eyes.

Seconds passed. Minutes passed. Hours ticked by. Yet, I was still behind the door, though this time I was curled into a ball on the floor. Until voices came into my hearing, alerting me they are near.

I was up on my feet with fright, my fear heightening.

And when I was sure I could no longer hear any sounds coming from outside the door, I start to pull the door open by its doorknob, then slipped out. I skipped down the doorway, and I breathed out a relieved sigh in the air when I heard the screeching of a car outside the mansion.

I then turned to the kitchen entrance only to have Davies standing by the door, his body leaned on it, and at the same time crossing his arms over his chest and quirking a questioning eyebrow at me, his stare expressing suspicions.

"Davies, come on tell me you saw nothing."I took careful steps towards him intimidatingly. He limped away from under my spread arms, dashing far from my reach into the dinning hall, and up the staircase.

Holding the railing, he stuck his tongue out at me in jest. "Catch me if you can, kiddo."

He runs off before I could lay my hands on him. I soon hear him slamming his room's door closed, leaving me to fume to my heart content. And wait, who is the kiddo? He has got some nerves, hasn't he?

I still couldn't figure out how I had lead my foot into the woods, but all I know is I kept walking further and deeper into it without any oblivious care. I know I should be scared for being in the woods by this time of the night, but it feels better than been inside a mansion all by myself. Well, blame boredom for leading me here.

Discovering I was walking without no aim whatsoever, and should probably start heading home, I was turning back to the path I came from when something caught my eyes, causing my abrupt stop.

It seems like this is what he loved.

Running on his own through the forest, wind rippling through his thick shiny coat without a care in the world.

This is what most Alpha's always do almost each night but it seems his is always frequent and happens each night. He races through the woods in his wolf form. I was told it is always exhilarating.

I watched him slowed to a light run and tilted his head, and looked to the black night sky. The moon shone brightly giving him a somewhat bright view of his surroundings.

Not like he need the light though, he has his werewolf enhance eyesight along with his hearing, smell and strength.

It was as if the surroundings told him something isn't right, because he soon flashed his head into a narrowed position as he scanned the woods with his sight. I bolted off as soon as I felt his eyes drawing nearer to.my direction.

As I ran, I could hear the sickly popping sounds his bones made as they rearranged themselves back to his human form. I hastened my running pace, knowing he's going to be home anytime soon.

The guard positioned at the door slide opened the glassy door as he saw me approaching, I sauntered more than I had ever till I reached my room, dropping with a pluff on the soft cushion beside the king-sized bed.

Thoughts came endangering into my head, not giving me a space to conjoin myself. What if he'd caught me stalking him...?. Actually I never knew he was there, so, do I still count as a stalker?

I soon fell into a deep slumber in between my trance of thoughts.

It wasn't long when I start to feel a wild tickle along my collarbone, and down to my inner thigh causing me to awaken with frightened tension. My eyes almost popped out when I saw him, a ghost of a smile plastered across his tilted lips.

Lucas...!

"It's nice meeting you again, princess."he tries to keep the strand of my hair that had fallen to my face aside, but, if only he hadn't gone farther than that and throws me that sickling smile of his. So, I did what I know best and was expertized at.

Being the nature of my past seductress life which is to struck my knee between the two thighs of any hormonal men that tries to force their way with me.

He lands by the bedside end with a flip, a groan escaping his guttery throat. "Arrgh!."

I made for the door but before I could open it, a hand flew over my shoulder and shut it back. That motion alone was enough to torn my heart into shreds. And at that spot, I never imagined I would fall into a second silence and wish for him to come and save me.

But I did.
