NATASHA’S POV

Christmas came with bells and laughter, just not for me.

From the moment I opened my eyes on December 24th, I felt it. That weight in my chest again. The kind that made it hard to breathe, like my own body was trying to swallow me whole from the inside.

The house was alive with noise. I could hear my cousins downstairs blasting Christmas songs, smell cinnamon bread wafting from the kitchen. Laughter bounced off the walls. Everyone was in the spirit.

Except me.

I lay still, curled under the thickest blanket I owned, refusing to come out. The lights were off. Curtains drawn. I didn’t want the sun. I didn’t want joy. I didn’t want any reminder that the world was still spinning.

Because Nina should’ve been here.

She should’ve been taking silly pictures in a Santa hat, singing off-key, teasing me about being too serious.

Instead, all I had were nightmares and unread messages. Constant reminders of what I’d lost and what I could’ve done differently.

My phone blinked beside me

NATASHA’S POVI stood in front of the tall glass building, the cold wind biting at my cheeks like tiny knives. My hand trembled where it clutched the strap of my bag.I’d spent the last hour pacing the sidewalk, arguing with myself. Part of me wanted to turn around, disappear back into the silence I’d built around myself. But another part, the louder part, refused to let me leave. Not today.Michael deserved to know.Nina was gone. And I owed it to her to break the silence. He was always family to her, before I selfishly took her away for reasons that feel so small now.I hadn’t spoken to Michael in a long time. Not properly. We’d drifted. All of us had. Life happened. Pain turned to distance. Pride built walls. But this moment, this wasn’t about any of that. It wasn’t about old flames or broken friendships. This was about truth. About grief.About Nina.Nina, who used to laugh so loud in the cafeteria it turned heads.Nina, who wore her heart like a badge of honor and danced barefoo

  • The Billionaire Broken Bride—Married To My Enemy.   CHAPTER 51: Warmth of Christmas Morning.

ALESSA’S POVI woke to a soft, glowing stillness. The kind of stillness that wrapped around you gently, like a memory you didn’t know you missed. It was Christmas morning.Light filtered through the black velvet curtains in calm streaks across the polished floor. The faint scent of pine, cinnamon, and vanilla lingered from the night before, resting in the air like a secret that had settled into the walls. For a few seconds, I just lay there, listening. Not to noise, but to something deeper. A silence that wasn’t empty but full. Full of meaning. Full of memory. Full of love I had often been too guarded to receive. With a slow stretch, I sat up. My robe slipped slightly off my shoulder as I blinked toward the door. That’s when I saw them.A stack of gifts sat outside. Wrapped in emerald green, deep red, and soft ivory, each tied with curled ribbons and arranged neatly like something sacred. I didn’t need to check the labels. I already knew who they were from.Michael’s family and worke

  • The Billionaire Broken Bride—Married To My Enemy.   CHAPTER 50: CHRISTMAS EVE.

ALESSA’S POVDecember 24th arrived like a whisper, soft, cold, and heavy with memory. The house still carried the scent of vanilla and spice, a fading echo of Michael’s birthday ten days ago. Even after the grandeur of the party in the hall, his mother insisted on a smaller, more intimate gathering at home. But that was then. Today, the silence had replaced the music. The heater hummed low, and outside, the faint chimes of distant bells broke the stillness like a ghost of joy.I sat curled beside the frosted window, a mug of lukewarm cocoa resting between my palms. The snow fell in thick layers, covering the ground like a dream I couldn't wake from. And I could smell it, the scent of pine, cinnamon, and something deeper. Grief.I should have felt festive. I should have leaned into the lights and laughter. But instead, my heart weighed heavy, like it had grown roots in sorrow. That ache, the one grief carves deep into your bones was gnawing again. My mind dragged me back to that day.

MICHAEL'S POVI should've looked away. The same way she always did.I should've focused on the clinking of glasses, the hum of polite laughter, the careful orchestration of a perfect night. Every movement was precise, every smile rehearsed. The chandeliers bathed the guests in gold and grace, the music drifting like silk around us. It was flawless. But my eyes betrayed me.They followed her.Alessa.She moved through the room like something out of an untouchable dream, elegant, cold, composed. And when she brushed past me, her scent lingered in the air. A soft, clean perfume. Not loud. Not desperate. The kind that wrapped around your chest like a slow burn. For a heartbeat, I forgot how to breathe. That black dress, silk, shimmering under the crystal lights clung to her like moonlight held in human form. Her thick black hair swept up, exposing her neck, her back, her spine etched in delicate poise. She didn’t glance my way. Not once. But I saw her.And for the first time in years,

ALESSA’S POVI never imagined I’d be the one standing at the center of Michael’s universe tonight. Not because I meant to. Not because I wanted to. But because Elena had given me a role to play, and I had no energy left to refuse. Two days before December 15th, his birthday, I transformed the luxury venue Elena booked into something out of a billionaire’s dream. A platform rose at the center of the hall like a crown. Black and gold curtains flowed like velvet waterfalls. The chandeliers gleamed like stars. It wasn’t just a celebration, it was an empire built in a night.Every flower, every flicker of light, every inch of space had my signature on it.I didn’t feel proud. I didn’t feel anything.I just... did it.The guest list was tight but extravagant, business associates, family friends, a few celebrities who probably didn’t know Michael personally but came for the camera flashes.Elena made sure her circle was there. I made sure mine blended in. I also ensured his father, Adrian,
