Chapter 19: Unusual change

I don't know if it took a day or two for Emily to wake up, but she was completely surprised that she was sleeping on the soft bed, she thought for a moment and quickly got up. The door swung open, causing her to panic for fear that it was Jack, fortunately only the housekeeper.

Butler Pem, seeing Emily so scared, approached her and said gently, "You've suffered a lot. The master has changed and accepted you."

What? The master changed and accepted her? Is the master the butler says he is Jack? Emily's expression became more suspicious. She shook her head: "No way. How can he accept me so much. He must be plotting something."

Butler Pem laughed: "You think too much. Master isn't that kind of person."

Emily doesn't want to think or know more, she just needs to try to have money at the end of the month for her father's treatment, nothing else. Wherever she went, she had nothing to lose anyway.
