I stepped out of the car exhausted from the stress of today’s activities. Walking slowly inside, I tried looking for my phone as the passage was silent.

I was diagnosed with the last stage of blood cancer. I had always noticed something was wrong with me but no matter the check up I do, the result always turned out to be negative.

After I got to the front door, I tried pressing the lock code but realized it was changed yet again. I could remember I didn’t change the passcode , ohh I remember now.

I was attacked last week and that was why I changed it.

I’m Mitchell Rashford, 24 with a killer shape and beauty face. I’m married to Brandon and today will mark our 3 years anniversary. I was born wealthy and so was my husband and that was why it was easier doing anything I want even without his help.

I opened the door and entered the house but for some reason, I was feeling scared, like something I wouldn’t like is happening inside the house.

I saw two pairs of footwear at the front door and just shake off the feeling as I walked in further. The living room was supposed to be near but it was scattered and I understand why it was still unkept, I ordered the maid to take a break.

I picked up the few clothes on the floor, realizing a female wear amongst , I knew he was at home so I just walked towards the bedroom.

I stopped when I heard a voice only I knew so well, Brandon, “I didn’t expect her to be stupid enough to  sign everything to me.” He laughed after the statement, I gasped.

“I just wish she’ll die soon enough.”

“Honey, you said the blood cancer will only take her two years if untreated but today marks the third year you both had been married, when will the cancer take action.”

Another voice I feared to hear, the person I’ve been with my whole life, whom I trust and love the most.

 That’s the voice I heard , that was my best friend, Kath talking.

I walked more forward to see who he was discussing with and lo and behold it was my best friend like I suspected.

They were both on bed under duvet discussing and laughing as they talked about how they’ll be able to spend time together with no obstacle after my death.

“Wait, are you sure she signed the original document of passing the company to you just next week.” Kath said to him

He smiled touching her cheeks, “You should know I’m more smarter than what you think, I didn’t make her suspect anything, she did it with no mistake.”

His words were getting into me, I started breathing heavily, my body shaking while my mouth trembled as I held tight to the clothes in my hand.

“She must think she’s perfectly healthy not knowing she’s still battling with blood cancer.” Brandon laughed.

“But how did you do it baby?” That was her pouting, he smiled and sat up a bit for her to relax more.

“It was simple, I just had to bribe a nurse to keep swapping the result.” My hands dropped and my tears came running out.

“I can’t wait for her to die then we’ll have everything all to ourselves.” She whispered into his ear before kissing him on his mouth as he reciprocated.

“Stoppppppppp.” I screamed losing my breath at its peak . I couldn’t believe this people would stoop so low to this point.

“You devils.” I cried staggering, my eyes dizzy and I felt weak.

My breath was increasing rapidly and I held onto the chair beside me to support myself.

They both disengaged from themselves quickly while Kath stood up covering herself up with the duvet, Brandon was  left on his trouser.

“You guys disgust me so  much, I mean what do you think you are doing huh.” I screamed. Kath sighed before reaching out for her clothes which was on my hands. She put on the top and let go of the duvet which made her look seductive.

Kath looked not remorseful and she was staring at me, she reached down to clean the tears that were coming out of my face while I just watched her before pushing her off.

“Mitchell, do you remember when I asked you once if I told you to give me something very important to you, will you do it without hesitating.” She said

I knew I told her yes but that was because it was a game that day and it meant nothing and we all knew that.

She had her own fiancée so why would she come for mine?. “How could you be so wicked, Kath, I did nothing but trust you.”

She was always annoyed at everything and everyone, worse is when things doesn’t go her way, she go extra miles to make it her way but to people out there, she’s an angel and I was just a best friend who keeps taking everything away from her because I was my brilliant and more prettier and rich.

Yes, Kath is from a lower family , she’s an orphan and we both met at middle school when kids were bullying her. I saved her but by the time we got to high school, she started getting more annoyed and I ended up being bullied almost every time which I had no reasons why.
