CHAPTER 4
CASSANDRAI get home quarter to midnight because I trekked home thanks to the fact that there were no cabs, I couldn’t afford to order an Uba, and also because I stayed out late; courtesy of Ma’am Victoria and her very annoying bodyguard. As soon as I climb the porch up to the doorstep, I sight a pile of letters. I look around for a while wondering who could have sent me the letters. With trepidation, I pick them all up and then look for my keys in my bag. I unlock the door, enter the house before locking it after me.I take off my heels at the door, letting out a relieved groan, as I walk into the sitting room barefooted, not bothering to wear my flip-flops. I dump the stack of letters on the table before throwing my bag on the living room couch. “I’m so thirsty, I need water.” I yawn, walking to the kitchen to get myself a glass of water. I pour myself a glass of water before walking back into the living room. I gulp down the water in one try before picking up my phone to dial Cole's number; I really miss him, and want to hear his voice.“Yo! Yo! Yo! Its Cole, I am partying with demons. Haha! Just kidding leave a message and I will get back to you whenever I can. Peace.” I sigh, dropping the phone on the table. I just want to hear his voice and have a conversation with him. I can’t remember when last we talked to each other. All he does is to call for money, and I, to ask if he’s doing well. I place my legs on the table, resting my head on the throw pillow on the couch before closing my eyes. The memories of my encounter with Ma’am Victoria flooding my head. I sigh, rubbing my temples, and hoping today would just be a dream or my imagination.I get up the next morning at the sound of the stupid alarm clock beside me. I groan in frustration and tiredness, before rubbing my eyes, while yawning non-stop, due to my extreme fatigue. I look around, realizing I’m in my bedroom, and not on the couch where I fell asleep last night. How in the world did I get up here when I fell asleep on the couch last night? The alarm clock shakes me out of my thoughts with its’ stupid annoying sound. “Would you shut up?!” I yell, hitting it with my fist and thankfully shutting the little demon up. I remove the covers from my body and then step out of the bed still in my tank top and jeans. I take off my clothes, and wrap a towel around my body. I walk towards my closet to pick out the clothes I was going to wear today before walking into the bathroom to brush my teeth, while admiring my facial features in the mirror. I take a cold bath for the first time in a long time, because that is just what I need right now; my brain needs to cool down.I come out of the bathroom, dressed in a knee-length black skirt, black tank top with a long sleeve jacket over it, because of how cold it is. It's early December, meaning the snow will soon start rolling in, any moment from now. I walk over to the mirror staring at my hair, wondering what to do with it today. After a lot of spraying and brushing, I finally put it up in a ponytail; as usual. I rub a little powder on my face and then put on my red lipstick. Everyone says red looks good on me; it’s not like I don’t see it in the mirror.I walk barefooted down the stairs into the living room where my bag is. I grab all my things off the table, shoving it into my bag in a very disarranged manner when I notice the pile of letters I had left on the table last night. I turn to leave when I see the word ‘Mortgage’ on a letter that had several other letters on it.Not again. I sit on the couch as I pick up and tear open the letter from the Mortgage Office and read the contents in the letter, a frown forming on my lips as I read further. I toss the letter to the floor the moment I finish it before getting up from the couch. “They are going to take away my house if I don’t pay them twenty million dollars in week… unbelievable.” I scoff, pacing round the sitting room. They want to take away the only memory of my dad, which costs a fortune… Fuck them!I wear my heels at the door before shutting the door angrily, and locking it. I take my phone from my bag and dial Cole’s number again. “Yo! Yo! Yo! Its Cole, I am partying with demons. Haha! Just kidding leave a message and I will get back to you whenever I can. Peace.”“Hey Cole! It's Cassandra, in case my number isn't saved on your phone or you lost your contacts. It’s your sister whose calls you haven't for a few weeks now. I'm really worried about you and I need to talk to you, so please call me as soon as you get my message… Yeah… Bye.” I leave a voice message and then put my phone into my bag before letting out a loud sigh. NICHOLAS“Good morning, Mr. Bennett.” Laura, Nicholas Bennett’s secretary says as soon as he enters the office. She collects his briefcase and then follows him into his office.“Good morning.” He replies calmly walking towards his desk. He takes his seat, leaning back in his chair and then loosening his tie a little.“Did you get a call from Mr. Benson this morning?” He asks her, switching on his laptop. Laura drops his bag on the chair in the office before walking up to him.“Yes sir, I did. I told him you were out of the office, and won’t be coming back today.” She replies politely.“Well done! If he calls again, keep telling him that I’m out of the office, he’ll eventually get the message and stop.” He says, and she nods her head.“So what are my plans for today?” He asks her, his eyes not leaving the laptop, as his fingers moved across the keyboard with amazing speed.“You have a board meeting scheduled with the company at nine a.m. sharp…” She pauses, and then continues when he signals for her to do so. “Your father requests your attention after the meeting.”“Tell him I'm extremely busy and can’t make it.” She nods, not surprised by his refusal to see his father.“Mr. Marshall wants to have a cup of tea with you by eleven a.m.”“Okay, tell him I’ll be there.”“You have lunch with Mr. George, and dinner with Mr. Roberts, and Mr. Lawrence.” She concludes.“That's a tight one… Hmmmm… Can you can reschedule one of the meetings?”She shakes her head negatively, “They won't take no for an answer since you’ve been canceling with them since last month. They want to finalize the deal today, and they’ve threatened to take their offer elsewhere.”“It's fine then. I’ll see them today. You may take your leave.” He sighs. Laura gives him a polite smile before bowing her head, preparing to leave his office and go back to her work.“Laura.” He calls and she turns to look at him.“Yes, Mr. Bennett.”“Could you get me a cup of black coffee if you aren't so busy now?”“Yes sir.” She says and then walks out of the office to get him coffee.CHAPTER 5CASSANDRA“I don't get it sir.” I say, backing away from my boss’s touch. He had called me into his office this morning to drop some folders and has been trying to touch me. I definitely do not want to deal with this dick's flirtatious glares and corny disgusting remarks this morning. He’s tall, and… I guess, hot, but he has a very nasty character, and that’s just a total turnoff for me in a guy. I just want to work and then go home to think of a solution to my life, why must he bother me?“Cassandra, you know what I want.” Max, my boss says moving closer to me, making me roll my eyes, and back away.“I do not know what you want sir, I dropped the folder on your desk already and I would like to take my leave as I have other things to attend to.” I say but he holds my hand firmly. I swear to God if he tries stupid shit, I will kick him in the crotch and spit right in his face. Stay calm Cassy, you have dealt with his stupid personality for three years now so you can do it.“L
CHAPTER 6CASSANDRAI sigh, dropping my head to my desk in frustration. The office closed thirty minutes ago and everyone has gone to their various homes, except me. I’ve been writing a resignation letter, and I’ve written up to five now, and I just feel it doesn’t cover everything I want to say to that crazy person I call my boss. I want it to cover all the hatred I feel towards him, and how much he disgusts me, and how long I’ve wanted to leave his company."Why are you still here, not going home yet?" I let out a sigh, knowing fully well who it is. I look back to see my boss, the devil I was just thinking about, staring at me hungrily, making me cringe.I start to pack up my things from my desk, deciding to drop the resignation letter at his desk tomorrow. "I am leaving now, I just need to wrap up a few things and I will be done." I say, trying my best to ignore his lustful gaze."Do you want me to drive you home?" He asks, his footsteps getting closer."No, there will be no need f
CHAPTER 7NICHOLASNicholas sits on the sofa inside the room that is brightened by a red bulb making the room red. After a few minutes, the girl who he had seen earlier dancing with the pole walks into the room, with a huge smile on her smile, in a transparent black jacket through which he can still see her red underwear inside. She closes the door, and walks towards him."Wendy is it?" He asks and she nods her head, still smiling. "Come over here." He beckons for her and she walks over to where he was sitting before joining him on the sofa, sitting on his laps."Do you know who I am?" He asks, a smirk on his face. "Yes." She whispers, starting to give him a lap dance."Oh! really?" He asks and she smirks too."The famous…” She licks his earlobe, “…handsome…” she places his hands on her laps, “…and gentle, Nicholas Bennett.” She slurs out, making him chuckle."And is that what you think of me?" He asks rubbing her laps."I think all those things about you are true, and I personally f
CHAPTER 8CASSANDRAI don't know what is more funny, the fact that I'm supposed to be disguised as a broke homeless pig or the fact that I am actually broke, since the money Victoria sent to me isn’t mine until I finish the job, although I’ve spent a couple millions out of it to pay the Mortgage officers. How hard is it to kill a person, it can't be that hard, right? Killing Nicholas should be easy, right; since I don't know him and I just have to stab him or shoot him? Oh God! why do I have a bad feeling about this?Okay Cassy, you can do this; you have to do this because there is no backing out of this now. You collected the money and you’ve already spent out of the money to pay the mortgage officers which is the best thing that had happened to you in years, you already sent money to your brother too, and if you quit, you’ll have to return the money, and you know you can’t get that amount of money even if you work non-stop for the next five years. Anyways, you’re rich now, so you sh
CHAPTER 9NICHOLAS“Cassandra, but you can call me Cassy.” Cassy smiles at Nick, her smile drawing him in further."I don’t think I need to introduce myself, you already know me, but I’m Nicholas, and you can call me Nick. Now that we know each other, can we go to your new home?" He says, and she laughs, as he leads her to where his car is parked. He opens the front-seat for her, and when she enters, rushes to the driver’s seat, and starts to drive towards his mansion. He glances at her for a brief moment, and returns his gaze to the road ahead. He has no idea what it is but something about her makes him want to help her. She was homeless and poor and yet she refused his offer, and held onto her pride and dignity, and that makes him want to help her more. "Tell me about yourself Cassandra." He says as he drives on, his eyes not leaving the road. She is quiet for a while, as if not wanting to talk, “Well I am an only child. My mother died when I was young, and my dad died when I was f
CHAPTER 10CASSANDRA"I'm in! Cassandra, you are in." I chant as soon as Nicholas leaves for work due to whatever emergency he has. I don't get why Victoria wants to kill a nice man like Nicholas. He’s so nice, gentle, thoughtful, and definitely interested in me. I caught every single moment of him staring at me with a distant look, and that one time when he looked at my lips, and looked away quickly. He’s definitely falling for me, and hard.I don’t know; is it because he’s too rich or just stupid, because I would never let a stranger that I met on the road live with me, and even pay her money. I guess he’s just too quick to trust people, but either ways, it’s a very stupid thing to do; picking up someone from and dumping them in your house without knowing them, and the fact that he just believed everything I said to him is even more baffling.I could have been lying, and he wouldn’t have known, and yet he just believed everything. I wonder where he was raise, because he definitely r
CHAPTER 11CASSANDRAA week living inside Nicholas's house has been like heaven on earth. Although I have to clean the entirety of his mansion and prepare food every time, but I eat what I feel like eating, drink what I want to and did I mention how sweet he is? He also talks to me about his day at work and other things, but one thing I’ve noticed is that he doesn't talk much about his family and when he does, he only talks about his mum and how he is also an only child, and then changes the topic almost immediately. We’re now close but not close enough for me to kill him."Hey, good morning." He says as soon as he gets down the stairs in only shorts, with his abs on full display. I must admit he looks so sexy? He isn't going to work today because it's a Saturday.“Good morning Nick, did you sleep well?" I ask him with a big smile, as I finish setting up the table for breakfast."Yes, I did. Also, thanks for Last night’s dinner, it was perfect." He says, making me blush hard, “Did you
CHAPTER 12NICHOLASAs soon as he sees her walking down the stairs, his breath hitches in his throat. He has always found her beautiful, but she looks more than beautiful this night, and the beautiful smile on my face just made everything better. The tight black gown she wore did a lot of justice to her shape, bringing out all her curves in all the right areas, making him want to her there and then. Her breasts look fuller and it makes him mad with desire, as he pictures himself bury his head between them, and it made him so horny that he just wants to tear off her clothes and fuck her senseless. Her red hair was like fire drawing him towards her, like a moth draw to a flame and her innocent black eyes looked so perfect. She looks so stunning. Fuck! She’s beautiful and has so much effect on me. He thinks to himself, not being able to take his eyes off her as she descends down the stairs."Hey, how do I look?" She asks as soon as she stops in front of him, and his eyes move to her lips
