Chase’s POV

After all said and done, I went over to Terry’s house, otherwise I would have gone insane.

“What are you doing here?” Terry asked in shock as he came downstairs and found me waiting for him.

I hadn’t been to Terry’s house in over seven months, and so I could understand his surprise.

“Why would you even be asking me something like that?” I asked Terry in return regardless.

Terry got downstairs and headed towards his mini-bar.

“You look like you could use a drink,” he said because he knew that I wasn’t the drinking type.

“I am not playing for now, and judging by the way I am feeling right now, I dare say that I truly need the drink,” I accepted. “But it will only be one glass,” I informed him.

“Chase Maddox never goes beyond one glass,” Terry teased.

He poured wine into two glasses and brought one to me.

“You know, I don’t know any man who has maintained this level of discipline and consistency, especially at your tender age,” Terry said as he took his drink.
