Chase’s POV

Since I woke up, I had been going from one exercise to another.

I started with my usual early morning jogging around the big league, but this time around, it was different. I pushed myself too hard.

I ran too fast.

It was as though running fast enough would get the troubling thoughts out of my mind, but the faster I went, the more the thoughts lingered.

“You shouldn’t feel bad or guilty. It was consensual. She already took the pill. Just take this as a score against Donny for what he did to you. It’s not a big deal. Don’t let it ruin what you have worked so hard to build…”

Those were the thoughts that contradicted what I was feeling deep inside.

After running, I had a cold bath, and I intentionally skipped breakfast.

The next was pushups, and usually, I would have done about two hundred of it, especially if I had already taken the run, but this morning, I went double, and by the time I was done, I could barely feel my legs.

But I couldn’t stop thinking.
