After our meeting, Jasmine heads upstairs to rest. Nathan heads to the kitchen for a snack and Leo follows me to my bedroom where I pull Julia’s card out of my purse.

“You’ve had her card this whole time? Since that day at the baby boutique with Jasmine?” Leo asks as he examines it in my fingertips. The card was plan. It adorned Julia’s name in gold ink and a phone number in black with no other inscriptions.

“Yes.” I admit. It was better to have an ally than an enemy. If she really had a problem with Charlotte then maybe she really didn’t mean any harm.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” He seems saddened by my secret.

“A common enemy builds for a better friendship and I knew you would’ve taken it to protect Charlotte.” I knew he wouldn’t have let me use it. He’d demand that I dispose of it permanently. And I didn’t know when or if I’d need it. I pull out my phone as he remains silent and dial the number.

stupid idea, Charlotte is far more clever than to fall for that and Johnathan secretly just wants to be near Claire, how can Leonardo allow this

I saw the doctors and nurses come and go after what felt like days. “I’m sure she’s fine, Jas.” Nathan says as he rubs my shoulder.“Well I wouldn’t know!
