Kane's POV

It was 8 a.m., and I was sitting in the living room, my jaw clenched, fury burning just beneath the surface.

I'd woken up the moment the sky began to lighten. My hand instinctively reached across the bed—but it was empty.

At first, I assumed she was in the kitchen. Or maybe she'd gone downstairs to grab breakfast. But as the minutes dragged on, the silence in the apartment grew louder.

Her warmth was fading from the sheets. Her scent was disappearing from the air.

Then I noticed—her phone was still here. So was her bag. She hadn't taken a damn thing with her. Not even money.

Panic twisted in my gut. I picked up the phone and called the guard.

The guard's response turned my blood to ice.

"She left last night, sir."

She just walked out? With nothing? That fucking idiot!

I grabbed my jacket, ready to storm out—
