Aria's POV

"Aria, come stay with me."

His words hit me out of nowhere.

I froze, caught between surprise and awkwardness. "What?"

"I just don't feel comfortable leaving you here alone," Chad said, his voice low and sincere. "You're still recovering, and if Kane shows up again... I can't just sit back and do nothing. Come stay at my place—no, not the apartment. I've got a house out in the countryside. It's quiet, safe. Just for a little while. Please."

I looked at him, but my thoughts were scattered.

"I mean it," he added gently. "You're not ready to be alone. You still need therapy, you can't stay in the hospital, and someone has to take you to your appointments. Let me help you, Aria. Come with me."

Maybe it was the softness in his tone.

Maybe it was just him—Chad—someone who's always felt like home.

Whatever it was, a part of me that had been locked up and guarded started to give way.

I knew I wasn't okay.

I was barely holding it together—tense, exhausted, waking up in the middle of

  • The Billionaire Regret After My Goodbye   I'll Make Sure He Dies

Aria's POVThe days that followed settled into a quiet rhythm.I found myself growing fond of the peaceful life here, and of Chad's steady, comforting presence. We'd go grocery shopping together. He cooked for me himself. Every night before bed, he would bring me a warm glass of milk—always the perfect temperature, always waiting on the bedside table.I don't know if it was the milk or his magic touch, but every time I drank it, sleep would wash over me like a wave.My limbs would grow heavy, my thoughts quiet. I'd burrow under the covers like a hibernating animal and drift off with ease.Tonight was no different. After my shower, I slipped under the covers early, enjoying the warmth of the blankets when the door creaked open."Drink this before you sleep," Chad said, stepping in with the familiar mug in hand.I reached out, but before I could take it, he scooped me out of bed with a mischievous grin. "Not so fast. You drink it now—while I watch."I made a face at him."Fine, bossy,"

  • The Billionaire Regret After My Goodbye   Come Stay With Me

Aria's POVI pushed open the hospital room door and found Dad propped up against the pillows, reading a newspaper.Sunlight filtered through the blinds, casting soft, golden stripes across his blanket and skin.I didn't even try to hold back. I ran to him and threw my arms around his neck."Dad… I missed you so much!"His familiar scent hit me like a wave, grounding me, warming me.I blinked rapidly, eyes burning—because for a moment there, I thought I might never feel this again."Princess," he chuckled, patting my back. But when he caught a full look at my face, his smile faltered. His thumb brushed under my eye. "Why do you look so thin? And pale? Have you been crying?"I lowered my gaze, heart clenching. He always saw right through me."Just… a lot of late nights at work," I said, the lie bitter on my tongue."Hard work's fine, but not if it's wearing you down like this." His calloused fingers gently caressed my cheek.I forced a smile. Even that small movement made my face tremble

  • The Billionaire Regret After My Goodbye   Give Me a Kiss

Aria's POVThe days I spent in the hospital felt endless, stretched thin by anxiety and silence.Every creak of the door made my body tense, convinced Kane would come bursting in again. But the man I feared—and longed for—never appeared.Slowly, my condition stabilized. The fever subsided. The welts on my skin began to fade. But I knew… some wounds ran deeper than skin. No ointment could erase the memory of that whip cracking through the air.Every night, the sound haunted my dreams. I'd jolt awake, drenched in sweat, heart pounding in the darkness."I... I still have nightmares," I whispered. The woman across from me looked up from her notes. She was the therapist Harlan had arranged—gentle eyes behind wire-rimmed glasses, and a voice that never rushed."That's completely normal,"she said softly, closing the folder. "Think of it this way—your emotions have caught a cold. And l

  • The Billionaire Regret After My Goodbye   The Darkness Never Lasts Forever

Kane's POV"Me? Impossible."I let out a cold laugh, my fingers curling into fists without realizing it.The diagnosis sounded absurd, but the image of Aria's terrified eyes refused to leave my mind, gnawing at my nerves like a splinter I couldn't remove."She becomes unhinged the moment she sees you. Panic, fear, even self-harm—those are classic PTSD symptoms."The doctor, Harlan, pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. His calm, clinical tone only made my irritation spike.I didn't respond. I couldn't. My mind was racing. He continued, "The good news is, her symptoms are relatively mild. She's stabilized for now. As long as—"As long as she doesn't see me again?Like hell."That's enough,"I snapped, slicing through his words. "Where is shenow?"Harlan blinked, surprised. "Sir, she's not ready to—"More useless chatter."Take me to her."I was already

  • The Billionaire Regret After My Goodbye    PTSD

Harlan's POVI had just arrived at the top floor to return the surgical instruments I had borrowed earlier when I heard shouting coming from the VIP wing. The noise was loud enough to draw a small crowd. As a doctor, my instincts made me unconsciously quicken my pace.Peeking into one of the rooms, I stopped cold.Aria? What the hell was she doing here? And why did she look so… broken? She was curled up in a corner, wearing a hospital gown, pale and trembling, her eyes wide with terror."What happened?" I whispered to one of the nearby nurses."She had an episode," the nurse replied in a hushed voice. "Tried to hurt herself with a knife—""She slammed into the wall..."Their fragmented explanations made my stomach turn.I'd known Aria for years. She was always composed, tough, resilient—never the type to crumble, no matter how hard life hit her.So what the hell pushed her to this?I couldn't ignore it. I wouldn't."I'm going in."Ignoring the protests behind me, I pushed the door ope
