Thinking about what would come next, Mona carried the basin back to her room.

The nurses’ dorm was barely ten square meters; once a single bed was squeezed in, the space felt tight. Mona didn’t mind — living at the hospital was easier on her than taking the bus every morning. Besides, the room wasn’t originally hers; Frank had pulled some strings to get it for her.

Guilt pricked at her when she thought of Frank. Since they’d met he’d done so much for her, and she hadn’t been able to return the favor. Now, because of her, trouble had even followed him — and she felt worse for it.

She was lost in those thoughts when someone knocked on the door.

“Mona, you there? It’s Frank.” His voice came through the door.

She hesitated, then got up and opened it.

Seeing her hair still damp, Frank frowned, took the towel from her hand, and started drying her hair. “You okay? Your hair’s soaked — you’ll catch a cold.” He stepped into the room and closed the door behind him.

  • The Billionaire Regret After My Goodbye   Have You Ever Been in Love?

Mona blinked innocently. She really hadn’t thought that much about it.She had stumbled across this restaurant long before she ever met Frank. Back then, she lived off the money she made from her part-time job, so she couldn’t afford to come often.Later, once she started working full-time and had a steady paycheck, she wanted to return—but the place had been under renovation until recently.Thinking it over, Mona lowered her voice. “Frank, are you still mad?”Frank had been about to tell her he wasn’t that petty, but the moment he saw her cautious expression, that darker side of him surfaced. His face was set in a scowl as he drank his soup in silence, but his expression made it clear he was upset.Mona pressed her lips together, her brows knitting in worry.“Actually, Jamie’s a good person. I just thought you two would be a good match, so I let her come find you.” Since she couldn’t hide it anymore, Mona decided to just admit the truth. The second he heard that, Frank let out a cold

  • The Billionaire Regret After My Goodbye   He’s Angry

“An herbalist?” Mona sat on her bed, phone in hand, frowning at Jamie’s explanation. She had mentioned wanting to learn how to identify herbs before—since the area around the village was full of wild plants, many of which people didn’t recognize. Mona had hoped that if she learned, she could teach the villagers and help them earn a little extra income. But she hadn’t expected Frank to actually arrange a meeting with an herbalist so soon. Honestly, she’d only brought it up because she’d been checking out books on medicinal plants from the library, which had caught Frank’s attention.“Yeah! That’s why you need to get here fast. Frank’s furious!” Jamie whined. “If I’d known it would be like this, I never would’ve come. You didn’t see him just now—he was terrifying!”When Jamie hung up, Mona’s thoughts still lingered on the herbalist. If their roles were reversed, she figured she’d probably be angry too.Realizing her mistake, she moved quickly. She didn’t even bother with the bus—she fla

  • The Billionaire Regret After My Goodbye   A Twist of Fate

After seeing Jamie off, Mona returned to the nurses’ lounge only to find Linda walking toward her with a big smile.“Head nurse,” Mona greeted politely.Normally, when Mona greeted Linda, the woman would either ignore her completely or walk past as if she didn’t exist. But today, Linda not only met Mona’s gaze but also hooked her arm through hers with surprising warmth.“Mona, you’ve been with our department for a while now. How are you settling in? Still having trouble adjusting?” Linda asked sweetly. As head nurse, it was part of her job to look after new staff. But until now, Linda had taken every chance to snub Mona and even spread rumors behind her back.“I’m doing fine. Everyone’s been nice,” Mona replied, though the words tasted false.Linda didn’t seem to care whether Mona meant it or not. “If you ever need anything, just come to me. I’ll help you.”Mona studied her warily, unsettled by Linda’s sudden friendliness. The woman had ignored her for weeks, even fueled gossip about

  • The Billionaire Regret After My Goodbye   Set Me Up with Frank

Because Frank had insisted again and again, Mona gave up the idea of quitting.Still, after everything that had happened, her appetite was gone. Even when Frank tried to take her out to dinner, she refused.Seeing how exhausted she looked, Frank told her to take advantage of her day off and rest in her dorm. He promised to come back that evening to eat with her.He had work to do in the afternoon, and Mona urged him to grab lunch before heading off. Only then did he finally leave. But as Frank stepped out of the dorm building, he overheard a few nurses talking.Their words were even nastier than what Mona had heard before. He knew they were twisting the truth just because Mona had been targeted.***That afternoon, Frank set things straight. He had his own people spread the word that Mona was his girlfriend. When he caught two nurses saying otherwise, he publicly scolded them and made it very clear: anyone who gave Mona trouble would be answering to him.Frank’s tough stance worked. • The Billionaire Regret After My Goodbye   Justice? How Naïve

Frank let out a sharp laugh. His voice dripped with cold disdain, and when his eyes swept over them, the chill was enough to make Lynn and the others fall silent on the spot.Only when the room was quiet did he drawl, "Raise hell until the end? Threaten the hospital?"The word threaten was heavy, carrying consequences far beyond their understanding.Lynn swallowed hard and stammered, "We're not threatening the hospital. We just want what's fair.""Fair?" Frank sneered. "All of you are well past your twenties, combined you're pushing two hundred, and you still believe there's such a thing as 'fairness' in this world?"Lynn hadn't expected him to mock them so bluntly. His arrogance left her momentarily stunned."My father's the director, and yes—I do have the power to call the shots here," Frank said flatly, his gaze sharp. "If you're not competent, you're out. You think throwing a tantrum as a group is going to force the hospital to bend?"That hit a nerve."Incompetent? Who are you ca
