LOGINCHAPTER THREE
Aurora’S POV
I looked at Roman, hoping his reaction would somehow prove that I was wrong, but the look on his face only made the fear inside me worse.
He was staring at Sebestian as though he had just seen a dead man walk through the door.
Romanslowly stepped forward. “Who let you out, Sebestian?”
Sebestian’s eyes moved to him. A faint, cold smile appeared on his lips. “So, my dear brother doesn’t want me out.”
Roman’s jaw tightened. “Answer me.”
“Why?” Sebestian tilted his head slightly. “Fraud, illegal transactions, and everything else you accused me of were enough to get me fourteen years in prison, weren’t they?”
Roman’s face hardened. “You were convicted.”
“And yet I’m standing here.” His voice remained calm, but something about it made the room feel colder. Sebestian took another step forward. “Go and ask the court why I was released.”
Roman’s hands tightened at his sides. “You think being released changes anything?”
“No.” Sebestian looked around the living room before his eyes returned to Roman. “It changes everything.”
Romanscoffed. “Even if you are released, there is nothing here for you anymore.” He gestured toward the house. “The company is mine. The properties are mine. Everything you lost is gone. You should be grateful that you are free and go somewhere else to start your pathetic life.”
For the first time, Sebestian’s expression changed, the faint smile disappeared.
He looked directly into Roman’s eyes. “You should go back to the place my mother picked you from.”
Romanwent still Sebestian’s voice dropped.
“Because it is time for you to hand over everything, Vic.”
The silence that followed was heavy Romanstared at him.
“You have been gone for seven years.”
“I know.”
“Seven years is a long time.” Romangave a cold laugh, as though he had finally regained his confidence. “The companies are doing well without you. The properties have grown in value. Everything you left behind has moved on.”
Sebestian stared at him for several seconds.
Then he smiled, It was not a warm smile, It was the kind of smile that made the back of my neck grow cold.
“Then you have spent seven years making my things more valuable for me.”
Roman’s expression changed.
Sebestian stepped closer.
“You should have stolen less, Vic.”
Roman’s face tightened. “I built everything you see.”
“No.” Sebestian’s voice was quiet. “You occupied it.” He paused, his eyes never leaving Roman’s face.
“There’s a difference.”
Roman opened his mouth, but Sebestian continued before he could speak.
“Enjoy your last few days of pretending.”
The words were so calm that they frightened me more than if he had shouted.
“I didn’t spend seven years in prison learning how to lose.”
Roman’s face had gone completely stiff. I barely heard the rest of what they were saying, my mind was somewhere else.
I could still remember last night, I could remember reaching for the man’s face, I could remember the strange smoothness of his skinc I could remember the voice that had warned me.
You don’t know what you are asking for.
I looked at Sebestian again, he was standing only a few steps away from me now.
The more I looked at him, the more uncomfortable I became.
His height, his voice, his eyes.
There was something about him that made my heart beat faster.
I quickly looked away, I did not want anyone to notice how nervous I was.
Especially Roman.
He knew nothing about last night.
He had no idea that while he had been sitting here with Vivianne, I had been with another man.
And if that man was really Sebestian…
I didn’t even want to finish the thought.
My fingers slowly moved toward my pocket.
The watch was still there.
I could feel its weight against my hand.
Then Sebestian suddenly looked at me.
Our eyes met.
I froze.
He studied my face for a moment, almost as though he was trying to remember something.
My heart began pounding.
Then his gaze moved slightly over my face before returning to my eyes.
“Is there something on my face?”
I quickly shook my head. “No.”
I didn’t know what to say furthbermove
Romanlooked between us, completely unaware of the storm inside my head. He deep inside, a terrifying possibility was already taking shape.
And for the first time since Sebestian walked through that door, I was no longer afraid of what he might do to Roman.
I was afraid of what he might remember about me.
Aurora’s POVSebastian’s parting words hung in the chilly air like a threat.Roman’s grip on my waist remained tight, but I could feel the tremor in his hands. He was trying to project power, but Sebastian’s sudden regain of board influence had clearly rattled him to his core."Ignore him," Roman muttered under his breath, his eyes glued to his phone as he scrolled furiously through his private emails. "He’s bluffing. The board wouldn't give him back a seat without consulting me first."He abruptly let go of me, pacing toward his study without looking back. "Stay here, Aurora. Rest. I need to make some calls to the legal department right now."The moment his study door slammed shut, the oppressive silence of the mansion descended on me once again. My knees felt weak. I stepped toward the hallway, intending to escape to my bedroom upstairs, but as soon as I turned the corner toward the grand staircase, a firm hand clamped softly around my wrist.I gasped, pulling back, but the grip was
Chapter SixAurora’s POVRoman held me tightly, his fingers pressing into my back with a gentleness he hadn't shown me in years. To anyone else looking through the window, it would have appeared to be a scene of pure, marital bliss—a husband celebrating the miracle of a long-awaited child after seven years of silent heartbreak. To me, it felt like a gilded cage snapping shut around my neck."We need to tell the family immediately," Roman said, pulling back to look at me, his eyes gleaming with a strange, possessive triumph. "The board needs to know too. This changes everything, Aurora. A legitimate heir secures my position at the company. No one can question my legacy now."My throat was dry as sand. "Roman, wait—isn't it too early? The report just confirmed it. We haven't even had an ultrasound—""It doesn't matter," he interrupted smoothly, brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. The warmth in his touch was cold, calculated. He wasn't celebrating us. He was celebrating the leverage
Chapter FiveAurora’s POVI stood outside the hospital for several minutes after leaving the doctor’s office, unable to move. The pregnancy report was still in my hand, folded carefully inside the envelope the nurse had given me.I looked down at it again, even though I already knew what it said.Pregnant, theword should have filled me with happiness. For seven years, I had dreamed of seeing that word written beside my name. I had prayed for it, cried for it, gone through treatments for it, and endured humiliation because of it.Now that it had finally happened, I could not even smile.Because I knew the truth. The child was not Roman’s, I had not been with Roman for almost a year, the only man I had been with was Sebastian. My fingers tightened around the envelope as I walked toward the car.I had no idea what I was going to do.I could not tell Roman yet, not until I found out what I am going to do with it, even though I had used years searching for this and Something was wrong.I co
Chapter Four TWO MONTHS LATERAurora’S POVFor the past few days, I had not felt like myself. At first, I tried to ignore it because I had been under too much stress lately, and after everything that had happened with Roman, I thought my body was simply reacting to the pain and exhaustion I had been carrying around for months. But that morning, the strange feeling became impossible to ignore.I had barely stepped out of my room when a sudden wave of nausea hit me so hard that I stopped in the middle of the hallway, covering my mouth as my stomach twisted painfully.I hurried into the bathroom and barely made it to the sink before I started vomiting. My body shook as I held onto the edge of the sink, trying to catch my breath when it finally stopped, but the sickness left me weak and dizzy.I reached for the glass of water beside the sink, only to realize that someone was already standing beside me with a bowl filled with clean water.“Thank you…”I took it without looking at the pers

CHAPTER TWOAurora’S POVThe first thing I noticed when I opened my eyes was the sunlight coming through the curtains, spreading softly across the room. For a few seconds, I remained still, staring at the ceiling as I tried to remember what had happened the night before. Then the memories slowly returned.Even though Romanhad dismissed me first, but he had finally came back to me and we had spent the night togethex I had finally done it.A smile slowly appeared on my lips.I placed a hand over my stomach, even though I knew it was far too early to know anything.“I will become a mother,” I whispered, unable to hide the happiness in my voice. For the first time in years, I allowed myself to imagine Romanholding our baby.Maybe when he found out I was pregnant, he would change his mind about the divorce. My smile widened as I turned my head toward the other side of the bed. Then I froze, the other side was empty.I frowned as I slowly sat up.I could not remember when Romanhad left the
