Riley's POV

The lobby of Gray Enterprises looked even more intimidating in daylight.

Polished marble floors reflected light from the towering windows, and everything, every corner, every surface, smelled like wealth and precision. People moved like clockwork, dressed in clean-cut suits and heels that clicked confidently across the floor.

I wasn't sure if it was the designer outfit I had pulled from my magically restocked wardrobe... or the fact that I now worked here, but for the first time in a long while, I walked into a building with my chin a little higher.

Still, my palms were clammy.

My fingers clutched the strap of my purse tighter than necessary.

Because this wasn't just any job.

This was a contracted position in a company owned by the man who could ruin me with a single whisper.

I drew in a breath and walked toward the reception.

"Good morning, Miss Jordan," the woman behind the counter greeted me with a polite, professional smile. "You have been assigned to the PR department

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 84: Evidence on Screen

Riley's POVThe events of yesterday still weighed on me, but I had managed to hold myself together. This morning, as I got ready for work, I could not tell what would happen once I walked into that building. Still, one thing was certain. I would not sit back and let them drag my name or call my strategy stolen. The moment I stepped into the boardroom, the atmosphere shifted. Conversations cut short and the weight of unkind eyes followed me, but I kept moving. Right now, their stares were the least of my worries.I reached my seat and lowered myself into it, forcing my shoulders straight. I braced myself, steadying my breathing.Michael came in soon after, his presence pulling more eyes away from me. A few shareholders followed behind him. And then, Sienna walked in.I had not expected her here, though I should have known. With the size of their shares in the company, of course she would be present. Even so, my stomach tightened when she took the seat opposite mine. She looked straight

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 83: Breaking Point.

Zara's POVI sat in the garden with Grandma, sipping my coffee while absentmindedly scrolling through my phone. Most of the headlines didn’t faze me anymore. Gray Enterprises was always being talked about, either because of a project or because people could not stop stalking Michael. So when I first saw the name flash across the screen, I scrolled past without a thought. But then another headline popped up, bolder this time. Something in me paused. Against my better judgment, I tapped it.The words made my stomach coil. My eyes widened as I leaned closer to the screen. Gray Enterprises accused of stealing strategy from a small company.I blinked, sure I had misread. I clicked into the full article, and by the time I finished reading, my mouth hung open.My thumb scrolled down again, desperate to see if this was just another baseless rumor. A verified news page carried the same report, only this time there was evidence attached. Screenshots, side-by-side comparisons, all spelling disas

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 82: Taming The Storm.

Michael’s POVThe word suspension still lingered in the air when I stepped forward. My chest was tight, but my voice cut through the room, cold and commanding, leaving no space for argument.“Enough.” I let it hang in the air, letting the single word cut through the tension like steel. Murmurs faltered, mid-whisper, eyes snapping to me. I didn’t need to raise my voice; the weight behind it spoke louder than any volume could.I let the tension settle over the room, then spoke with precise authority. ‘No rash decision will be made while I am in this room. For a moment, nobody moved. I felt Riley’s grip on my sleeve, the faint tremor in her hand. Her fear was there, just beneath the surface, but she had managed to keep it hidden in front of them, without cracking.I straightened, sweeping my gaze across the board members, the shareholders, the staff who had stopped working to listen. “This is not about finding a scapegoat. This is about the survival of Gray Enterprises. And survival is n

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 81: The Silent Defiance.

Riley’s POVMy legs felt like they had turned to stone, yet they carried me forward until I stopped just a few steps inside the floor. The air was heavy, pressing in, but I forced my spine straight. My palms were damp, my grip tight around my bag.One of the shareholders, his face flushed and rigid, broke the silence. His voice cracked like a whip through the stillness.“What is the meaning of this?”The words hit sharp, but I didn’t flinch. My chest hammered, yes, but I lifted my chin and met his glare head-on.“What exactly are you accusing me of?” I asked, my voice steady enough to cut through the room.He tossed today's newspaper at me, which slid across the floor and stopped at my feet. I blinked, then bent slightly, and picked it up with precision. Straightening, I smoothed the page flat, scanning faces before dropping my eyes to the headline. The bold headline stared back at me, the black letters sinking into my chest like weights:Gray Enterprises accused of releasing the sam

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 80: Silent Demand.

Riley’s POVI walked back into my office after finally leaving Grandma and Michael’s floor. It had taken a bit of coaxing to slip away, since Grandma was reluctant to let me go. I promised her I would visit soon, and only then did she release me with a smile. My mind also clicked to Aria as I stepped onto the PR floor. I noticed she wasn’t her usual self today. There was something clipped about her movements, her voice almost sharp when she spoke to Michael earlier. Maybe it was nothing serious. We women have days like that, when our moods shifts like wind, often without reason. I brushed it off with that thought, though the coldness in her eyes stayed with me longer than I expected. When I reached my office and pushed the door open, a faint unease pricked at me. Nothing looked out of place at first glance, yet something felt different. My chair was pulled back farther than I ever left it. The flash drive sat upside down on the table, though I remembered placing it neatly beside my no

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 79: The Strain Of Loyalty.

Unknown POVI froze in place, every muscle in my body tight, my heart beating so loud I was sure it could be heard outside the room. A thousand excuses swirled in my head, none of them good enough to save me if someone stepped inside and saw me here. Sienna promised she would warn me before Riley returned, so how could she forget? Or maybe she wanted me to get caught. Before I could make sense of it, I heard a soft female voice outside.“Brighton, are you looking for Riley?”“Yes,” Brighton’s voice answered from the door, calm and casual.“She’s not around. I saw her leave a few minutes ago.”The door closed, and their footsteps faded down the hallway.I stayed still even after their footsteps faded, counting to ten in my head. The silence pressed in like a weight. Only when I reached ten did I dare move, slipping out like a shadow afraid of its own outline. No one was there.A shaky breath escaped me, the kind that burns your chest on the way out. I adjusted my blouse, forcing myself
