Michael POV

The car pulled away from the curb like it had somewhere more important to be. Maybe it did. All I knew was Riley was sitting next to me, and every second felt like a test I wasn’t sure I could pass.

She had just come back from the restroom before we left the restaurant, but it wasn’t the same woman who slid into the seat beside me.

Something about her posture, the heat clinging to her skin, the slight flush on her chest that hadn’t been there during dessert. Maybe it was the wine. Maybe it was the way her lipstick had faded slightly, the edges smudged like a kiss had almost happened.

The ride was supposed to be quiet. Professional. A transition from business to silence.

Instead, the air felt thick.

She sat too close, though not deliberately or maybe it was. The car wasn’t that spacious, but she didn’t try to shift away when her thigh brushed mine. She stayed. Bare skin grazing my slacks. Warm, soft, electric.

The streetlights painted golden ribbons across her arms and co

Riley's POVI glanced out at the waves, letting the foam curl around my toes as I shifted my weight on the sand. “So, Viktor,” I began, trying to keep my tone casual, “how’s life treating you? Cases, work, everything?”He smirked lightly, brushing sand off his shoes as he followed me along the shoreline. “It’s been busy, it never really slows down. But I don’t mind, it’s the kind of work I enjoy and it keeps me focused.”I nodded, curious despite myself. “And your personal life? Do you ever take breaks, or is it all work?”He laughed softly. “Breaks are rare, but I make time for the people who matters. Speaking of which…” His gaze flicked toward me, and I felt a small stir of unease in my chest. “…how’s Michael?”I hesitated, the Non-Disclosure Agreement" flashing in the back of my mind like a warning sign. “He’s been… supportive, but things are still complicated between us.”Viktor’s expression softened slightly, though a flicker of something unreadable passed over his eyes. “I see,”

Riley’s POV“So you still blink too much when you’re thinking,” Viktor said, his tone soft but teasing.I stopped for a second, caught off guard. “You… noticed that?”A small smile curved on his lips. “I remember everything.”Something tugged in my chest. It was warm, unsettling. The years between us suddenly felt thinner, like they hadn’t been years at all.We strolled barefoot along the beach, shoes dangling from our hands, the water curling gently around our toes. The salty breeze tangled my hair, and I let it, too caught up in the strangeness of walking beside him again.“So tell me,” I asked, glancing at him, “how did you know Michael?”“He’s my client,” Viktor replied, “and also a friend.”I frowned. “Then… how did he know about us?”He looked at the horizon before turning back to me. “Let’s just say, the private investigator he hired to look into your sealed file… was me.“Really?” I responded, my voice laced with shock at the coincidence.“Yes, at first I didn’t recognize the

Sienna’s POVThe garden was quiet except for the faint trickle of water from the marble fountain. I sat opposite Zara, her arms folded, chin slightly raised as if daring me to waste her time. She had Michael’s sharp, scrutinizing eyes when she was angry, but unlike him, she doesn't know yet how to weaponize them properly.I crossed one leg over the other, intentionally unbothered. “I’m not here to waste either your time or mine, Zara. This concerns your brother.”Her brows pinched. “If this is another one of your ploys to worm your way back into his life, save your breath. I don’t trust you.”A quiet laugh slipped out of me. “You don’t have to trust me. Right now, Michael's safety should be the only thing you care about." That made her pause for a few seconds. I leaned in slightly, lowering my voice. “Do you know Riley Jordan’s file is sealed, and that Riley Jordan was never her real name?”Her frown deepened. "What do you mean? If her file is sealed, then it’s confidential. A

Sienna’s POVThe mirror had always been my first test, and this morning was no different. I stood in front of it, tilting my chin and shaping a smile that seemed effortless, though I had spent years perfecting it. My reflection looked flawless, every strand of glossy hair in place, makeup enhancing rather than hiding. The silk blouse fit just right, and the pencil skirt balanced elegance with a quiet sense of authority.“Dominate them with your look, make yourself irresistible,” I reminded myself, a mantra I’d carried for as long as I could remember. It wasn’t only about beauty; it was a strategy and armor. The color on my lips, the height of my heels, every detail was chosen with purpose, each one meant to tilt the room in my favor.Satisfied with what I saw, I ran my hand over my waist and widened my smile at the reflection. This was the version of me that never failed to get the job done. The car was already waiting when I stepped outside. Sliding into the backseat with the elegan

Michael’s POVAt first, I sat frozen, hands resting uselessly on the table while Riley folded herself into Viktor’s arms. But the longer I watched, the harder it became to stay still.By the time I realized it, I was already on my feet. I couldn’t remember the moment I rose, only the sudden awareness of my hands clasped tightly behind my back, as if I needed to hold them there to keep from interfering. The room still echoed faintly with Riley’s voice, her laughter softening into something more fragile now. Her shoulders sagged against him like she had finally found a place to set down the weight she carried. Her fingers clutched at his shirt, a wordless expression of relief, longing, and familiarity. And all I could do was stand there, watching from a step too far away.Something sharp twisted inside me, a sting so sudden it almost startled me. I should have been relieved for her, and a part of me was. She deserved this moment, this connection, after carrying so much alone. But alongs

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 63: Never Forgotten.

Riley’s POVThe morning air was cool enough to prickle against my skin, though the sun had already started its slow climb above the city. The streets were alive in their usual rhythm, cars rolling past, a vendor setting out baskets of fresh bread, a woman tugging her child’s hand as they hurried toward school. Everything looked so normal, I almost resented how unsettled I felt inside.Aria walked close to me, our shoulders nearly brushing. She kept sneaking glances at me, the kind that weren’t meant to be noticed but always were. As if she thought I might turn around at any moment, bolt down the street, and disappear.I gripped the strap of my bag a little tighter. I’m nervous. Michael is so unpredictable, always pulling things out of nowhere, and I have no idea who he wants me to meet this time. Yesterday softened me more than I expected, it made me see he’s trying, but he still has a long way to go. If he wants forgiveness, he has to earn it. Slowly and patiently, not with surprises
