Riley's POV

The room feels too still, like it’s holding its breath with me.

Michael’s hand is still on my hip, not moving, just resting there like it belongs. His palm is warm and heavy, like an anchor that I can’t tell if I want to shake off… or pull closer.

The sheets stick slightly to my skin. My body is still flushed, covered in a fine sheen of sweat that hasn’t quite dried. I stare up at the ceiling, watching the faint dance of city light filtering through the half-closed blinds, broken lines of gold and shadow stretching like quiet wounds across the white paint.

I try not to breathe too deeply, try not to shift. Because if I do, I might feel too much. Might remember too much.

His scent lingers, cologne softened by skin and heat and something rawer. Musk and salt and whatever cologne he wore that now smells like sex and secrets. I hate that I like it. I hate that I want to inhale it like it’ll keep me grounded.

He hasn’t said a word since.

Neither have I.

And yet, the sile

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 129: When Restraint Fails.

Sienna's POVI left the room, still adjusting my clothes as I moved toward the door. Whoever had been banging had just interrupted my plan, and my heart skipped a beat at the interruption. I wasn’t ready to deal with anyone right now.My pulse raced, and my hands shook slightly as I tried to steady my breathing. Slowly, I reached for the handle, each second stretching unbearably, and pulled it open.My eyes widened in shock when I saw Ethan standing there, holding a small bag in his hand."I brought you medicine for stomach ache, your usual. Still remembers," he said, lifting the small bag slightly with a warm smile on his face.My lips parted, but before I could stop him, he brushed past me and stepped inside as though it was the most natural thing to do. My heart began to pound. He set the bag on the center table and turned to face me. His eyes studied me with quiet concern before he frowned."You are still sweating a lot," he said softly, taking a step closer. His hand came up to m

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 128: Lost In The Haze.

Michael’s POVI stepped out of the hall and paused for a moment as the floor beneath my feet seemed to shift. For a second, I thought I was floating. My balance faltered, and I had to grip the wall to steady myself. The air in the corridor was cooler than inside the hall, yet I felt strangely light-headed, the alcohol still buzzing through my veins.I wanted to stop and sit somewhere, even just for a minute. My head was pounding, and my legs felt heavier than usual. But the thought of Riley waiting for me somewhere ahead pushed me forward. Whatever was going on between us, I had to make it right.I started walking again, taking slow steps, stopping only when my vision blurred for a second. A staff member happened to be passing by, and I waved him down.“Sir, are you alright?” he asked immediately, concern written all over his face.“I’m fine,” I said, even though I wasn’t. “Just… help me to the elevator.”He nodded quickly and stepped closer, placing one hand under my arm to steady me

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 127: The Perfect Moment.

Sienna’s POVFrom where I sat, half-hidden by the soft glow of the chandeliers, I watched Michael and Riley like a hawk circling its prey. And then came the moment I had been waiting for.Michael was drowning himself in alcohol. I'm sure the bartender must have lost count of how many glasses he had already downed. His gaze repeatedly drifting toward Riley. Each time she smiled at someone else, his jaw tightened, betraying the storm inside him. With that mixture of longing and anger, I knew they had a fallout. And Riley? She sat a few tables away, laughter spilling from her lips as she spoke with her friend and the man that joined them.I sat back, pretending to engage with the dull conversation around me while I observed every single detail and shift in their body language. When I noticed Michael starting to go over the edge, I straightened slightly. His movements were slower, his focus scattered, yet one thing about him hadn’t changed. He was still unreachable to anyone except Riley

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 126: The Note.

Riley’s POV After changing out of the stained gown, I slipped into a knee-length dress that Aria found among the options Michael had sent earlier. It was elegant, but not as breathtaking as the first one. The original gown had been flawless, the kind that made people stop and stare. This one was simpler, though it still carried quiet sophistication with its subtle shimmer and soft draping.Aria helped me redo my hair and makeup. Her hands were gentle, and the silence between us was almost comforting. I could tell she was still angry about what happened earlier, but she didn’t say much, only muttered something about how lucky that woman was that security stepped in when they did. When she finished, I stood and faced the mirror again. The reflection staring back at me looked calm, too calm for how my chest felt inside. I took a deep breath, steadying myself. “Let’s go,” I murmured, grabbing my clutch that, by coincidence, still matched perfectly with the new dress. We left the room tog

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 125: Collision Of Pride.

Riley’s POVI tried to control the situation before it escalated any further, though the tension only kept building. The young lady and her little entourage were relentless, their voices sharp and mocking as they fed off the attention they were getting.I could already feel dozens of eyes turning toward us, the curious and judgmental stares of drama-thriving eyes. This was exactly what I had been trying to avoid. The last thing I needed was to become the center of a scene like this, especially here in Michael’s hotel, surrounded by high-profile guests.Aria was no longer calm. Her jaw was clenched, her fists tight at her sides as she exchanged words with the lady. I could hear the anger in her tone, the frustration boiling just beneath the surface.“Aria,” I said quietly, reaching for her arm. “Let’s go. She’s not worth it.”I tried to pull her away, hoping to defuse things before it spiraled out of control. But then everything happened so fast. The lady suddenly raised her hand, and

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 124: Poised for the Night.

Sienna’s POV I took my time dressing to perfection this evening because this event was more than just a gathering. It was an opportunity, a stage where the powerful met, alliances were formed, and secrets were exchanged with polite smiles and champagne glasses. For me, it was a calculated moment to showcase myself among the high aristocrats while quietly waiting for the right opportunity to strike.Every piece of my appearance had been chosen carefully. My gown, a deep shade of emerald, shimmered subtly under the room light as I adjusted the neckline and smoothed the fabric along my hips. My hair fell neatly down my shoulders, framing my face in a way that drew attention without giving too much away. I glanced at the dresser where my clutch sat, and then toward the small, barely noticeable corners of the room where I had hidden a few items earlier, precautionary pieces of my plan that no one needed to know about.Satisfied, I reached for my clutch, fingers brushing over my phone jus
