She must probably be thinking that he's asleep. He's a light sleeper and he'd always been like that all these years. When she opened her eyes and glanced at him,he knew.

Sophia was quiet. She thought he was sleeping. She didn't expect that he was awake, just closing his eyes.

“I thought you were sleeping,” she said. Trying to glance at him. “I was, but I'm a light sleeper” Stan replied. If he was there to stay by a patient's side, he shouldn't feel so relaxed and confident that he would sleep off and not even know when the patient opens her eyes.

He stood up and walked towards her. He checked at the injury and felt perhaps a catheter should be better rather than applying undue pressure on that part so as not to bruise the wounds.

“Stay calm dear, I'll tell the doctor to get you a catheter” he suggested, trying to make her laid back but Sophia gripped him.

“I don't want a catheter. I can do it myself” she refused. She tried getting up and Stan helped her.
