LOGINSophia was devastated. She saw the stares coming from her family and her fiance. She bowed her head. She wished she could shed some tears if it could help to salvage the situation, but somehow, the tears were not coming.
“Explain? You still have the conscience to look at me and talk about explaining anything to me?” Kabir snapped, every single word coming from a bleeding heart. Sophia couldn't retort back at him. The evidence was all over the place. She could also feel it, that she'd been raped but she didn't give her consent, in fact, she didn't know the scumbag that took advantage of her. Diana was temporarily unable to utter a word when she stepped in and found her in this state. Everything unfolded before her like a scene. Everything played out perfectly without her, having to worry about anything going wrong The room was condensed with the smell of hormones, a pure indication that she and whoever the scumbag was, had helped each other without reservation. But the astonishing part of it to her was the rascal she paid to do a clean job didn't show up. In fact, he switched off his cell number and she couldn't reach him again. She'd thought her plans had been ruined. All she'd plotted for a few weeks now, was going to waste but didn't expect that things would still end up the way she wanted. Looks like her desire to own Kabir was eventually going to come through. She could see how disappointed he was, how he least expected Sophia to cheat on him. It's all Sophia's fault. Every good thing comes to her. Her parents, wealth, beauty, she was born favoured but fortune smiled on her when they were swapped at birth. Since her luck fell to her, she would ensure that she keep up with it. Kabir is a perfect gentleman. How can she let Sophia have him? Only she is qualified to have him. And like it was at birth, she will have to swapped Kabir and have him instead of Sophia. She could find a scoundrel from the low countryside like herself and get entangled with after all, she'd ceased to be a virgin. Whatever, whether the rascal disappointed her or someone from somewhere had helped her achieve her aim, she's happy, it ended, just as she wanted it to be. Now, her belly is sweet. She could feel butterflies in her belly. The confusion, betrayal, lack of trust, all she wanted has come to be. Now, she has to build on what has been laid down. “Kabir, don't get upset with my sister too hard. She might have done this with her lover but the one she'd always claim to love is you. She didn't expect it to end this way. Sophia has a lot of male friends she hangs out with. Who knows who among them had subtly brought her here and they had a quick fun. Take a look at the dollar notes over there, who would give a woman such money if she didn't consent to it? Besides growing up in the countryside, what do you expect, a lot of dirty things are being practiced and she probably might have picked up a habit of being with different men "I won't blame you if you walk away” Diana persuaded in a subtle way. “No, Diana. I didn't do this with any lover. I have no one in my heart except Kabir. I believed I was drugged, it wasn't intentional. You know me Diana. You know my sleeping and waking thoughts are all about Kabir. How can you say that, Diana?” Sophia scolded. “What now, you just said she knows you well. You've been hanging out with friends and you couldn't think of a better time to be with your lover except our engagement night?” Kabir bellowed and furiously stepped out. Sophia was dazed. Diana's words had gotten things complicated for her. Just like Kabir left, everyone filed out, with Diana Shawn being the last person behind. As she was about to shut the door, Sophia got a glimpse of her facial expression. A beautiful smirk registered on her face and a sudden reality dawned on Sophia. Diana gave her the drink… “I knew this girl was a swine. Everything we did for her, has finally been paid off by her ungrateful attitude. She's made me lose face. My daughter is a bitch, a promiscuous swine from the countryside…”Beny Shawn stuttered. Kabir was devastated. He went over and stood by his car. All the guests have all gone. Only his family and her family were left. They had to announce to everyone present that something went wrong and the celebrant had been taken to the hospital. It was embarrassing because many knew they lied. She danced earlier, happy and healthy. How can she suddenly fell ill and taken to the hospital? Only Kabir's family knew that Sophia was nowhere. Her cell phone was left on the table she stood up from. So they couldn't call her nor trace her. It was only when Diana suggested that they should check the surveillance that they saw her being taken to a room by a waiter and soon a man walked into the room. He'd thought she was waiting for their wedding night. But no, she's a casual woman. A promiscuous woman that couldn't think of another time to stab him in the heart but on their engagement night. “I'm here for you,Kabir. You should have known my sister that she's not so decent like she pretends to be. I couldn't tell you about her true colours but you've seen it for yourself” Diana stuttered, walking over to place her head on Kabir's shoulders. Seven months later, a pregnant Sophia was devasted, walking by the pedestrian. She was lost in thoughts, her mind occupied with a reality she just got to know. As she walked, she didn't walk by the express but a car was approaching, focusing at her directly and she couldn't dodge, she didn't know where to turn to and out of fright she dodged aside just as the speeding car brushed past her and she fell down, her baby bump hitting against the concrete floor. As her baby bump hit against the floor she felt her body wet. But luckily for her, the passerby came to her rescue and saw she was pregnant and took her to the hospital. She went into a preterm labour as she was wheeled to the labour ward. She delivered the baby, saw him a little red head and premature. She heard his faint cry as the midwife took him away . Before shutting her eyes, she saw the silhouette of a woman, it looked like Diana, but her weak and fainting body couldn't let her get a proper gaze at her before she fainted. When she woke up later, she found no one by her bedside, not even her mother. The nurse walked into the ward and helped her to sit up. She was sad. None of her family cared to come and see her. They neglected her in pregnancy because they claimed sje conceived out of wedlock to her lover. “Nurse, how's my baby?” Sophia asked wearily. She didn't expect anyone from her family to indeed visit her. From that night of a miserable lover to the moment she had her baby, she'd become an outcast in her own family. “I'm sorry, the baby was stillbirth” the nurse responded, holding her hands in a soft squeeze. “Stillbirth, how?” Sophia demanded. she heard him cried, how can it be a stillbirth? How can she not have the baby after all she'd been through? She lost everything. Her relationship, her fiance, her family but more than anything else, she lost this baby as well? Oh no, why is life so unfair to her, why?“I see that you have been discussing things with Dave lately, huh” he murmured and then tickled her by the sides. Sophia jerked and tried holding his hands, laughing at the same time. “I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about a certain person” “I see, I wasn't tickling you, I am tickling a certain person” Stan retorted, laughing out loud. Seeing that sweet part of him was amusing. He intertwined his fingers with hers and brought her head to lay against his chest, caressing her upper arm gently. After some time,“my love” he called out like a whisper. He gently bent over and kissed her. They soon arrived at the parking lot and the chauffeur stepped out. Sophia was being cuddled and she didn't respond to his call. When they got in, Stan was kind of reserved, he wasn't saying anything. As Sophia stood before him, moving her hair aside and requesting him to pull down the zipper on her dress. He did but didn't let her go. “Sophia,” he called ag
She'd sent a message to Dave to join them at the garden park at booth number 5. On the tray before them were drinks served and tumblers. Sophia poured herself a drink and poured some for Miranda too. “How're you doing, Miranda?” Sophia asked, raising her tumbler for a toast. They clicked their glasses together before taking a sip from them. “I’m fine. Can't believe I am seated here before you Sophia Shawn” Miranda chimed. Everyone wants to be associated with celebrities and this is happening to her without even making any efforts. “You've got to believe your eyes, dear. And I hope henceforth, we'll see each other more often and spend time together more” Sophia responded. They talked, exchanged pleasantries and still Sophia didn't say anything about why she invited Miranda. On the other hand, Miranda was getting impatient. Being around this movie star is a dream come true but why did she invite her over? There must be a reason why she called her. It can't be drinking out togethe
Dave chuckled and shrugged “of course I am happy. What are you talking about?” He asked, not knowing where exactly her words were heading to. “Can you say that you were happy, that moment when your eyes locked with Miranda at the movie premiere?” Sophia asked, her gaze fixed on him. Dave went speechless. He didn't respond to Sophia and she continued “I'm sorry if I poke your healing wound. But you know it wouldn't hurt you if it's a mere scar like the way her name causes you a pain in the heart. It's because the heartbreak remains fresh and probably bleeding at this moment. I have been in love before, Dave, and I know what it means to be in love. You still love her. Why don't you get back together with her? Stop hurting yourself Dave. Everyone is worried about you. Mom, dad, Stan and even me. We all love you…” Sophia persuaded him. Dave's eyes have gone reddened. His facial expression is sad. He sighed audibly and glanced at Sophia with reddened eyes “sh
There was a sudden stillness that descended on them both. Craig's excitement evaporated and he stared at Sophia. The smiles dissipated. Her bitterness atoned for? “....The family is shattered apart, thanks to you and your dad playing a pivotal role in seeing it happen. You have wished for it and it has happened. You can stay happy with him and whoever he chooses to be involved with. You're a mother too, right? Can you ever hate your son? How can you think that I hate you? I have treated you unfairly in the past, but that's over. I apologised to you at your grandfather's burial but you couldn't find a place in your heart to forgive this woman who coincidentally happens to be your mother. I wanted us to talk about it the entire night but karma and fate ensured we missed each other. Those files that Craig gave you are the documents to my personal properties. There's a key strapped into one of those files, take it, the information is all embedded in the file. I
Sophia's eyes went cloudy. What had she done now? How can Craig accused her of being a different person? She'd always being the same person all these years. She took the bashing and the betrayal and didn't fight back. What is wrong if she revolts at this point? Does he expect her to remain sheepish forever? Gradually she'd forgiven everyone who hurts her,Stan, her dad, Kabir except that he crossed the lines and Stan taught him a lesson. “Craig don't talk nonsense. I woke up late. The accident on one hand and the late night sleep on the other hand. I couldn't cheat nature and I slept longer than I would have really done. Why are you sermonising me and making me feel like I had done something wrong?” Sophia scolded. “You still didn't see anything wrong with what you did, I know. But anyways, I'm leaving and you're mom left a message for you when you couldn't make it early. I kept them by your bedside drawer. I'm leaving” Craig declared. “You wait for me, I'll be
Sophia was quiet, her alertness awakened. She heard her voice, that was Benny Shawn, her mother. What is she doing there? That must be her apartment not Craig's condo. What the heck is going on, shouldn't she go after Diana and her husband, why is she there? “Craig, isn't that Benny Shawn's voice?” Sophia asked and she got her response almost immediately “yes, it's my voice. You should address me as my mother Sophia.” Benny paused and waited for Sophia to say something but she didn't. Hence she continued “I have waited at your door for hours until Craig arrived…” she stuttered. “At my door? What do you want from me?” Sophia asked, feigning ignorance. Being together with one's partner is not a matter of life and death. If her dad, doesn't want to remain married to her, she can leave. Why pestering everyone about the whole shit. “On the contrary, I don't want anything from you. I just needed to see you for the last time dear” Benny responded. It's not about getting a
