The rain was pouring heavily, thunder and lightning accompanying it. Stan wanted to stay back at the company and do some work but feeling uncomfortable with the heavy downpour and the heavy storm, he decided to leave.

As he descended the elevator, the President’s parking lot was quite different from everyone else. He took a strode towards the parking lot when he suddenly halted.

At the extreme end of the entrance, where trash bins are emptied to be taken away by the sanitation department, two securities were talking in hushed voices.

They sighted the President and quickly returned to their duty post. Stan, feeling something was a little off, instructed his bodyguard “find out what's wrong” he ordered and got into his car.

He'd hardly sat down when the bodyguard hurried “A baby was dumped in the trash bin..” he informed. Stan snapped his head up and glared at his bodyguard in dismay.

“A baby?” He asked again for affirmation. He hurried out of his car and went to the baby. In a Perforated transparent bag was a weak baby crying. He'd become weak and could hardly cry out loud.

His complexion has gone reddened and he looked sickly and premature. Stan has never felt moved in his entire life like he felt at that moment.

He felt pity for the baby and carefully he bent over and carried him with a shaking hands and tender gaze. He was afraid of hurting the baby but then, the transparent bag was causing harm than good.

The rain still pouring heavily but Stan didn't care. He could only care about the innocent baby at the moment and not the rain.

Was this baby born by a woman or did he grow out of the soil? How could someone do this to her child, an innocent baby who has done his bitch mother nothing!

He carried the baby, bring him out of the bag, the baby's thin clothes could barely protect him from cold as Stan pulled off his suit and wrapped it around the baby. Hurriedly, he got into the car, taking the baby to the hospital.

FIVE YEARS LATER

Sophia got off the plane, waited for her luggage before walking out of the airport. No one knows about her return except her friend Gabriel and her grandfather.

After she left five years ago, she got her masters and was doing well in her career until grandfather coaxed her that she should return to her home country.

To please grandfather, she saw an advert and applied for a chief designer position in a multi million company in Hilltown. She got the job offer with a lot of benefits attached.

Dressed in a limited edition designer gown, she wore a dark shade and her hair curly and styled. She was expecting Gabriel and just before stepping out of the airport, she heard her name.

“Sophia Shawn” she turned and there stood Gabriel, staring at her with a megawatt smile. They hugged each other. Happy and excited that they meet again after a few years.

“How're you doing Sophia?” Gabriel asked. He doesn't need to ask because he could tell that his friend isn't doing bad for herself. She looked stunning and prettier than he could ever remember her to be.

“I'm fine. How're you doing too, Gabriel?” She asked, staring at him with a beautiful smile that exposes her diastema.

“I'm good” he replied and took her luggage, leading her to his car. They chatted and were excited.

“Take me to the Chevron hotel where Diana and Kabir are getting married,” Sophia demanded. She's not holding a grudge against her ex-fiance nor against her scheming sister.

She'd moved on. She's built a lemonade from the lemon they threw at her. She's strong and have learnt to find happiness in herself alone.

Gabriel glanced at her briefly before asking “Are you really sure you want to attend that wedding?” He demanded and before she could answer he added “Your sister is getting married to Kabir”

For God's sake, only a few people do not know the kind of bond that existed between Sophia and Kabir. But how he easily discarded herband got hooked up with her sister was least expected.

“Yeah, I know,” Sophia answered flippantly, glancing out of the window. They could get married over and over again, it doesn't really matter to her anymore.

As she glanced at the busy city, people using the pedestrian and everyone got busy going to and from, she smiled. Nothing has really changed. Everything has only remained the way it was from five years ago except her.

She'd changed. She'd seen life and embraced it. To live only for herself, to do only what makes her happy and pleased.

That way, Sophia headed to Chevron hotel. She stepped in just as the bride was stepping out of the car. Sophia didn't see her at first but Diana did.

She froze. The long lost bitch is still alive? For five years everyone thought she's either dead or gone in a self imposed exile because no one knew her whereabouts. Her disappearance has only helped her and Kabir to get closer.

Now, that she's to be married, she appeared from nowhere to ruin her wedding? Kabir must not see her otherwise, she cannot guarantee that he would go ahead with the wedding, because she knows , that somewhere in his heart, he still cared about Sophia.

What will she do now? As Sophia walked towards the door, she pulled her wedding dress up and rushed towards her. That was when her parents got sight of her and were dazed.

“Sophia?” Her father exclaimed. But Beny Shawn sneered. Why did she come back? Sophia is jinxed. What has she come to do at the wedding, after having gone missing for five years?

“Please, don't ruin my wedding Sophia. Kabir chose me over you when he discovered your flirty private life. This isn't my fault, don't carry out your threats…” Diana pleaded, clasping her hands together.

Threats? Like drama, Sophia just glared at her speechless.

Five years have passed and they've grown older. Shouldn't Diana have outgrown her scheming nature?

As her parents came closer, Diana pulled Sophia's hand against her chest and fell into her chief bridesmaid hands.

“Ahhh, Sophia, please don't do this, don't ruin my wedding…” Diana was still acting when Beny Shawn stepped over and slapped Sophia across the face.

“How dare you hit her? How dare you use your promiscuous hand to touch her wedding dress? Who invited you here, what do you want?” She bellowed.

At this moment, a few invited guests had started walking towards them. Without thinking twice, Beny Shawn instructed one of her bodyguards “keep her away from this wedding”

That way, Sophia was dragged by her parents' bodyguard towards the dark area of the hotel. She tried to fight back but she couldn't. He kept pulling her, dragging her despite her pleas to let her walk because her ankle had been sprained but the bodyguard wouldn't listen to her.

How would he listen to this woman who has only brought shame and disgrace to her parents. It was better that she was never brought home. They should have left her in the countryside and rot away in poverty.

Sophia felt pains at her ankle due to the heels she was putting on. She was struggling but how strong can she contend with this iron fisted bodyguard of her parents. Eventually they arrived at a door and the bodyguard pushed the door open and shoved her in violently before bolting the door and going away.

“I see that you have been discussing things with Dave lately, huh” he murmured and then tickled her by the sides. Sophia jerked and tried holding his hands, laughing at the same time. “I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about a certain person” “I see, I wasn't tickling you, I am tickling a certain person” Stan retorted, laughing out loud. Seeing that sweet part of him was amusing. He intertwined his fingers with hers and brought her head to lay against his chest, caressing her upper arm gently. After some time,“my love” he called out like a whisper. He gently bent over and kissed her. They soon arrived at the parking lot and the chauffeur stepped out. Sophia was being cuddled and she didn't respond to his call. When they got in, Stan was kind of reserved, he wasn't saying anything. As Sophia stood before him, moving her hair aside and requesting him to pull down the zipper on her dress. He did but didn't let her go. “Sophia,” he called ag

She'd sent a message to Dave to join them at the garden park at booth number 5. On the tray before them were drinks served and tumblers. Sophia poured herself a drink and poured some for Miranda too. “How're you doing, Miranda?” Sophia asked, raising her tumbler for a toast. They clicked their glasses together before taking a sip from them. “I’m fine. Can't believe I am seated here before you Sophia Shawn” Miranda chimed. Everyone wants to be associated with celebrities and this is happening to her without even making any efforts. “You've got to believe your eyes, dear. And I hope henceforth, we'll see each other more often and spend time together more” Sophia responded. They talked, exchanged pleasantries and still Sophia didn't say anything about why she invited Miranda. On the other hand, Miranda was getting impatient. Being around this movie star is a dream come true but why did she invite her over? There must be a reason why she called her. It can't be drinking out togethe

Dave chuckled and shrugged “of course I am happy. What are you talking about?” He asked, not knowing where exactly her words were heading to. “Can you say that you were happy, that moment when your eyes locked with Miranda at the movie premiere?” Sophia asked, her gaze fixed on him. Dave went speechless. He didn't respond to Sophia and she continued “I'm sorry if I poke your healing wound. But you know it wouldn't hurt you if it's a mere scar like the way her name causes you a pain in the heart. It's because the heartbreak remains fresh and probably bleeding at this moment. I have been in love before, Dave, and I know what it means to be in love. You still love her. Why don't you get back together with her? Stop hurting yourself Dave. Everyone is worried about you. Mom, dad, Stan and even me. We all love you…” Sophia persuaded him. Dave's eyes have gone reddened. His facial expression is sad. He sighed audibly and glanced at Sophia with reddened eyes “sh

  • The Billionaire Single Dad    Stan's woman

There was a sudden stillness that descended on them both. Craig's excitement evaporated and he stared at Sophia. The smiles dissipated. Her bitterness atoned for? “....The family is shattered apart, thanks to you and your dad playing a pivotal role in seeing it happen. You have wished for it and it has happened. You can stay happy with him and whoever he chooses to be involved with. You're a mother too, right? Can you ever hate your son? How can you think that I hate you? I have treated you unfairly in the past, but that's over. I apologised to you at your grandfather's burial but you couldn't find a place in your heart to forgive this woman who coincidentally happens to be your mother. I wanted us to talk about it the entire night but karma and fate ensured we missed each other. Those files that Craig gave you are the documents to my personal properties. There's a key strapped into one of those files, take it, the information is all embedded in the file. I

  • The Billionaire Single Dad    A few lines of fact

Sophia's eyes went cloudy. What had she done now? How can Craig accused her of being a different person? She'd always being the same person all these years. She took the bashing and the betrayal and didn't fight back. What is wrong if she revolts at this point? Does he expect her to remain sheepish forever? Gradually she'd forgiven everyone who hurts her,Stan, her dad, Kabir except that he crossed the lines and Stan taught him a lesson. “Craig don't talk nonsense. I woke up late. The accident on one hand and the late night sleep on the other hand. I couldn't cheat nature and I slept longer than I would have really done. Why are you sermonising me and making me feel like I had done something wrong?” Sophia scolded. “You still didn't see anything wrong with what you did, I know. But anyways, I'm leaving and you're mom left a message for you when you couldn't make it early. I kept them by your bedside drawer. I'm leaving” Craig declared. “You wait for me, I'll be

  • The Billionaire Single Dad    Waited for her daughter

Sophia was quiet, her alertness awakened. She heard her voice, that was Benny Shawn, her mother. What is she doing there? That must be her apartment not Craig's condo. What the heck is going on, shouldn't she go after Diana and her husband, why is she there? “Craig, isn't that Benny Shawn's voice?” Sophia asked and she got her response almost immediately “yes, it's my voice. You should address me as my mother Sophia.” Benny paused and waited for Sophia to say something but she didn't. Hence she continued “I have waited at your door for hours until Craig arrived…” she stuttered. “At my door? What do you want from me?” Sophia asked, feigning ignorance. Being together with one's partner is not a matter of life and death. If her dad, doesn't want to remain married to her, she can leave. Why pestering everyone about the whole shit. “On the contrary, I don't want anything from you. I just needed to see you for the last time dear” Benny responded. It's not about getting a
