Chapter 16 – Interviews

Well, it took more than a day. Scouting the next business area in the city, that is.

Melissa realized that it’s fun, but there’s that underlying worry. Would she be able to get a job or not? She’s not exactly pressured at this point, but she could sympathize with the others she saw. Life is hard, apparently.

A few days later, she finally got a call and she was asked to come in for an interview. It’s fairly easy to see that there’s something different about her. She has this air of confidence that didn’t stem from… an actual confidence in her skills or knowledge. Her confidence stems from the fact that she can afford to fail to interview.

From a professional standpoint, she carries herself well. She answers in a straight-forward manner. She didn’t stammer. Her replies seem very honest. It was all good until you look at her resume, or ask her about her experiences. There’s none. And she couldn’t share anything about it. Ranking-wise, she’s lined up with the fresh graduates.
