“If you don’t want to, then I won’t force you. You’re still the most important to me.”
In the morning, he was gone when she woke up. She went to take a quick shower and found him with a breakfast tray when she got out of the bathroom. Those were his opening words as she sat on the bed with him.
“I’m sorry I can’t give you a daughter.” She muttered, still feeling complicated about it.
“Don’t be. It’s fine. I only wanted a daughter because I thought watching her grow up would let me see how you grew up. And I also thought boys would be difficult to handle.”
She can only snort. He has an odd way of thinking.
“Are you feeling better?” He reached out to touch her forehead again.
“Yeah. The fever’s gone.” And the headache. She didn’t complain about a headache last night but it was there.
