He looked up from his phone and caught me staring at him, I immediately averted my gaze to the glass behind him.
"You like what you see?" He asked, smirking.
The smirk for some reason annoyed me, And I wished I could wish it off his face.
"Yeah, The glass behind you steals all the spotlight, I indeed like what I see" I replied sarcastically
I remembered the scene with his girlfriend and it still nagged at me and I wanted to ask him about it, but I disregarded the thought immediately after it occur to me
"Would you like me to get you a table and chair installed here or would you rather be a couch potato?"
"I'll take the couch Anytime, any day. It's so comfortable. How much did you get? You know what, Don't Tell me, I don't want to feel guilty for sitting on it"
He chuckled charmingly as I shrugged.
The doors beeped again and a man, Presumably an employee, came in with files and smiled up at me before moving forward to Lucio
"Hey there Lucio" He waved enthusiastically to Lucio "I need your signature for all these actions about to be carried out here"
He seemed preppy and one could easily describe him as a fluffy ball of sunshine. His fluffy haircut made him look very cute and I doubted if he was an attorney.
"You could have sent one of the Junior Attorneys, Why'd you have to bring it yourself?" He asked the look of sheer annoyance returning to his face, But unlike the one he gave Valerie, This one seemed free of tension and dislike, It seemed almost playful.
"Well, I brought them over because I wanted to see you, but mostly because I wanted to see your girlfriend, I heard the Non-Legal staff gossip about how you brought your girlfriend to work, They said you were the Tsundere type of guy and I just wanted to check things out for myself," He said grinning at Lucio
"David, Lisa's not my girlfriend"
David stared straight into my eyes, that enormous smile not wavering. There was something in the disk of his smile - a kind of mischievous exuberance, more honest and more honest and more exciting than happiness- that pierced me to the heart. It was the work of a second, the eye contact between us. It was just long enough for me to decide to trust him- the fluffy man with a big smile.
I smiled back at him, happy that I might have made a new friend from the law firm.
"I'm his friend, We'll be doing business together for a while, So, You'll see me here very often" I replied, maintaining the smile on my face.
"Pleased to meet you, Lisa, I'm David and I'm Lucio's Best friend" He introduced himself in his Italian-accented English as we shook hands.
"For the hundredth time, We're not friends David," Lucio said in an attempt to offend his "best friend"
"Yeah, Keep telling lies to yourself, If they make you feel better" He smirked and moved towards Lucio's table to drop the files.
"I'll see you later," He said to the Executive Director "Lisa, Let's grab lunch together if you're free"
He left the room and it was once again Lucio and I left together.
"Don't let him fool you, He's gay" He commented for no good reason "He's into guys"
"Well, I didn't say I was getting ideas, He just seems cool" I replied
"We're going out for lunch together, So you'll have to reschedule with him" The pretended annoyance on his face before has faded to a frown.
His phone rang out and I immediately stood up, I had heard the ringtone and recognized it from somewhere. All my instincts revolved around the idea of recalling the song.
After his phone call, I moved toward him and he freaked out "What do you want?"
"You're jumping like I'm a scary monster, What's your deal? I just wanted to ask about your ringtone. What song is that? " I asked him.
"It's Drink before the war" He answered
At that moment, I realized how close our faces were. One more move and our lips would touch. He stood up from his seat and walked towards the door. I thought he was leaving but just then, I heard him walk up behind me. I begin to turn around and I see his face.
He said, “Don't turn, this is about you.”
My heart began to pound. I stood there, feeling a desire run from my heart, to my chest, and down toward my inner thighs.
His finger touched my neck, and the hair as it was moved away nearly gave me the chills. His hands went from the sides of my head and down to my neck, out to my shoulders, and down to my hands.
He grabbed my hands gently yet firmly, put them in front of me, and paused. I felt safe, he spoke no words. My heart was about to beat out of my chest and I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
He kissed my shoulder, and ran his lips on my skin towards my ear, but didn't quite make it that far. I tilted my head and after his deep breath out he bit me gently. It didn't hurt, it only made me want more.
He turned me around, and we were facing each other. He stared into my eyes and smiled. His two hands grabbed my left hand and he placed my open palm on his heart, and he held it there. His eyes exuded protection, security, safety, patience, and respect.
I smiled and he let go of my hands, with one hand he ran his fingers through my hair and gently guided my face closer to his, eventually leaning me in to rest my head on his chest. His other arm wraps around me, I hoped he never let go.
While at that moment against his chest, I could only think about what I could do to make his heart pound.
"Don't talk about this to anybody" He whispered to me.
Lisa Roberts was trying to sort out some documents in Lucio's office when Margaret Delevonte barged into his office. Locking eyes with Lisa, she glared at her, disgusted by her sight. "And who are you?" Margaret was furious. He hated seeing women around her son. They were not good enough, the only one who was good for her son was Sophia. She was the woman she approved for her son to get married to. But Sophia wasn't in town and so Margaret had to keep other women away from her son. They were leeches who didn't know when to get lost. The worst of them all was Valerie, the slender blonde girl who was always throwing herself around her son and she hated it. She was disgusted by the woman and her family. Despite the fact that Valerie came from a higher social status, she still found her annoying and all."Who are you?" Her eyes were already shooting daggers at Lisa Roberts.Lisa stared at the unfamiliar woman, she was sure she wasn't one of the numerous women who came around the office.
"Lucio Babe!" Valerie was loud as she entered the office. She almost sank into the ground seeing Margaret. She was glaring at her and Valerie wanted to turn around and leave. "It is you again!""Oh hi Mrs Delevonte. Is so nice to see you here""I'm not happy seeing you right here"Lucio laughed. His mother hated Valerie and she didn't fail to show it. Valerie wasn't a nice girl but she was his friend. They went to college together and Valerie dated his roommate Jason even though she was secretly in love with him. She was the reason Jason left. He didn't even graduate from college. Lucio had tried calling him but Jason never picked his call nor returned any of his mails. He tried looking for him but Jason didn't want to be found. He went M.I.A and no one heard anything from him. His family said they had no idea where he was but Lucio didn't believe them. They were lying since no one reported him as missing. Jason blamed him for his failed relationship with Valerie but Lucio had no ide
Lisa was sitting on her desk when the telephone rang."Hello""Come to my office now"Lisa rolled her eyes, so much for having a boss. Lucio was sweet to her at times but he was equally annoying and all. There are times she wanted to do a lot of things but then he would stop her. Sometimes he was overly demanding and nagged a lot like a woman. She was complaining but she wasn't the only one who was complaining about the rich arrogant man. Though most people complained about him, some also wanted to be close to him. He was a handsome man and was popular among the ladies that was why his mother wanted him to get married as quickly as possible. She wanted Sophia, a woman who was of her clime and caliber."Yes Mr. Delevonte"Lucio glared at her, he already warned her to drop the formalities when they were together but Lisa wouldn't do that. Lucio was her boss and the last thing she wanted was to be the topic of discussion for her colleagues. They loved to gossip, especially the women in
Lucio couldn't fathom how he was sitting in the middle of a boring dinner with his mother and William's family chatting like they were friends. "So Lucio, I heard you are planning to spread your wings across Africa?"Lucio wasn't even paying attention to them, he was still thinking about Lisa and Mike together on a date. His mind was playing dirty tricks on him and he was imagining things that he wasn't sure was going to happen. Lisa was a responsible and decent woman so she couldn't just give herself to Mike on a first date but then, Mike was a man like him.Men are different beings, they love to possess even on a first date, he wasn't the kind of man who would love to take a woman to bed on their first date but there was men like Jason: Handsome, charming, who oozed of sexual appeal and so they wouldn't pass off to take a woman out on their first date. Jason took Valerie to bed on their first date. Lucio thought. His friend had lied about having an extra shift at work but then he
Margaret was furious. Lucio had embarrassed her in front of the Williams Family but that wasn't all. Ingrid had to open her airhole to bring up her daughter.Of course she loved Sophia Williams, out of all women of clime and caliber who she has seen, she was the most outstanding and qualified to marry her son. She had to admit that in the past she was against her son's relationship with Sophia, she was always against her children's relationship with anyone. They were just not capable of choosing their own life partner and she wanted to make that choice for them so that they don't end up like Monica, her sister. Sophia was elegant and a beautiful woman who would compliment Lucio in gatherings and functions but back then, she was making her son lose his mind and she didn't like it. She was toying with Lucio's feelings and Margaret just had to step in. She told her to stay away from her son but she wasn't going to do that. She was out to use Lucio since he was madly in love with him. Sh
Mike was sitting across the table staring at Lisa as she savored her food. He couldn't still believe he was sitting here with Lisa In a fancy restaurant. He had tried for six years but failed. Lisa wasn't even aware he existed back in college."What have you been up to lately?""Up to?" Lisa wasn't sure what exactly he was asking. The question was very confusing like the professor's questions when she was still in college. "I don't quite understand""Alright, where are you working?""I work for the Delevonte""That's a big company" Mike's jaw dropped but he was quick to close his mouth. Even though he has never met any of the Delevonte, he has heard a lot about them."Do you know that they are one of the leading company in the state right now"Lisa wasn't aware but she suspected. Her boss must be someone of importance to have so many people gunning for his life. He equally pushed Dominic off her back but that wasn't necessary. "Don't tell me you didn't know""I'm really not intereste
"I went on a date talking about my ex!" She finally says. It was hard talking about Khan. He was that delicate part of her life that she wanted to forget. Mike had to just bring him up. She didn't blame him for bringing it up, he was only trying to help since it was a message from Khan directly. So he had to deliver it to her."Your ex?""Yes we went on a date talking about a professor I dated""You dated a professor?""Yes I dated a professor and I know what you are thinking. I was 23 and he was 39 so it wasn't that bad''"Well it was bad""It was he broke up with me and all"Lisa could still remember it all, that night she had gone to his apartment to surprise him but he didn't let her in. He kept her by the doorstep. Lisa suspected that a woman was with him in his bedroom but there was no woman. It was just him and a bottle of alcohol. The look in his eyes that night was enough to tell her to turn around and leave but she didn't. She stood there with a wrapped up box of pizza and
Margaret doesn't need to turn around to put a name to that familiar voice. It was no other than her rebellious son Angelo Delevonte."What do you want her to call you mother?"Margaret turned around locking eyes with Angelo. His gaze was cold and wicked as he drew nearer to him."Angelo, son!"Lisa rolled her eyes. Margaret was a pretentious woman. She knows how to put up a good act but good thing Angelo heard it all. Lisa hasn't met Angelo but she has heard Lucio talk about his brother all the time. She could tell he loved him. "Why are you causing a scene mother?""I wasn't causing a son. I was only asking to speak with your brother""He's in a meeting I'm sure Lisa must have told you that""Oh! That's her name" Margaret couldn't hide her contempt. That didn't bother, she was the mother of the man she was working for. The one who saved her from the hands of those trying to end her life by taking her to that laboratory."Yes and you should have known that if you weren't rude""I was
