Chapter 2- Pregnant

Chloe's POV

I woke up the next morning to find the man still sleeping. It was even now that I realized that I did not even know his name. I stared at him for a while, and found out that he was one beautiful sculpture of a man. I could easily rate him among the finest I had ever seen.

Memories of our night together came rushing into my mind, and I found it shocking to believe that I had actually slept with a stranger, and it was one wild night. I was sure that I would never forget it in my entire life.

I tried to get out of the bed gently, so that he would not hear me, but before I came down, he opened his eyes. I found myself staring into them for a moment.

"Were you going to leave without telling me?" He asked groggily, seemingly displeased.

"I would have written you a note."

He abruptly got up and grasped my wrist. "I don't even know your name."

"Chloe. Not like it is very important." I joked.

He then allowed me to crawl down the bed, and I quickly began to dress back up.

I caught the way his eyes followed my body, and he didn't even bother to be discreet about it.

"Stop gawking at me." I said with a roll of my eyes.

"I saw you naked all night, there is nothing to be ashamed of."

I couldn't help but bite my lips as the memory of our heated moments came rushing back into my mind.

He stood up after I have finished dressing up. He was shirtless, but he had on a pair of pants. He walked to me, his gaze fixed on mine, and I could feel my heart begin to pound. I had the compelling urge to run my hand down his perfectly toned abs, but I held myself back.

He then leaned in to me, like he was going to kiss me, only for him to bring his lips to the side of my neck.

"I wish to keep you with me much longer." He whispered to me. I could feel his hot breath on my neck, and I would be lying if I say that I wasn't tempted to just let go of reason and get back in bed with him. How could he be so tempting? I didn't even realize that my mouth was open, and I was almost panting.

"I think last night was enough." I said, managing to push him away so that I could gather my thoughts.

He nodded. "Can I at least have your number?"

I shook my head. I needed to focus on myself, getting a new job and building my life. I couldn't let myself get carried away by him.

"I hope to see you again, Chloe. And my name is Ethan, thanks for asking."

I smiled, feeling a little guilty. "Sorry." Anyway, I didn't come to know anything about him. I was just there for the sex. It was a good distraction, but it was time to face reality.

"Where exactly are we?" I asked, wanting to know how close or far away I was from home.

"You are in my house."

I frowned. How could this be this house? I had only took notice of the room we were in as I was too carried away to notice any other thing last night. But now, looking around, I couldn't help but marvel at the luxury. What drew my attention most was the floor to ceiling glass windows, that I could see the beautiful scenery outside. I assumed we were in some kind of five class hotel.

"This is your house?" I asked him, almost yelling.

He stared at me, a subtly smile playing on his lips. "If you would stay a little longer, I will show you around."

I shook my head. He was very tempting with his sweet smile and rather subtle charm. But... "I'm sorry, I have to leave."

He just nodded.

I picked up my phone and texted Bonnie. I wasn't surprised by the tons of messages she had left me with.

I then took one last look at Ethan, the enticing stranger, knowing that this might probably be the last time I would see him. His gaze followed me as I left, I could almost feel it boring into the back of my head. There was just something about him I couldn't ignore, or maybe it was just my lust.

When I got home, Bonnie wouldn't leave me alone, as she wanted to know the stranger that had managed to steal me for a whole night.

"There is really nothing to know about him, except that he is handsome, rich and polite. He also knows what he is doing in the bedroom." I finally admitted after much persuasion from her.

"He sounds like a real package. What is his name, and just how rich he is? I will still need to hear about the whole detail about his bed skills."

I shook my head at her, laughing. "His name is Ethan, and if he indeed owns that house we were in, I believe he is fucking rich."

Bonnie suddenly frowned. It was as if she realized something. "You said he lives at Liberty hills? Do you mean the estate?"

I nodded. "Why?"

"Oh my god! That's Ethan Howells. His family is popular for their business and wealth. Ethan is the only heir of his father, and he is to inherit his father's multi million dollar company. Some people even thinks that he had already taken over, as he is the one usually seen representing. He has contributed a great deal to the business. For some reason, he likes to stay out of the news or draw attention to himself. He isn't just fucking rich Chloe, he is a billionaire." Bonnie narrated excitedly. "Maybe he can help you with this your boss situation, or even find you a better job."

I shook my head. "I just had a one night stand with him, and you expect me to go to him for help already? And if I get a job, I want it to be based on my qualifications, and not because some billionaire decided to help. Remember I was just accused not long ago that I was sleeping with my boss?"

Bonnie sighed, before nodding. "I understand."

I carried on with my life, seeking for another job and trying to get Ethan out of my mind. It was just a one night stand, I wonder why I still couldn't let go. As weeks passed, I managed to push him to the back of my mind, and the only thing unusual was my health.

I decided to ignore it, but the symptoms persisted. I was too easily tired, always dizzy and feverish. Bonnie then forced me to go to the hospital.

"You are pregnant, ma'am." The doctor said to me, and I laughed, leaving her confused.

Pregnant? Me? How could I be pregnant? My life was too messed up, how could I possibly manage myself and a baby?

The irony of the whole situation was the fact that the baby belonged to the man I was trying to get out of my head. How would he even react if he learns that I am carrying his child?

I left the hospital and called Bonnie immediately.

"Are you going to tell him?" Bonnie asked the moment I told her about the pregnancy.

"No, Bon, I'm going to raise this child on my own.

I placed my hand on my still very flat stomach, still finding it unbelievable.

"I promise to do my best for you." I made a silent promise to my unborn child.
