A Deal

After the dinner, while the two were eating, Heath's phone rang. He apologized and picked it up. Aurora faintly heard something about the Whitmore family from the phone.

She immediately listened carefully. Heath seemed not to care if she heard anything and said to the other end of the phone, "Have our people pull back; I'm going back now."

Heath hung up, and Aurora tentatively asked, "Are you collaborating with the Whitmore family?"

Heath glanced at her and nodded. Aurora asked again, "The Whitmore family from the United States?"

Heath laughed, "Little girl, you know about the American Whitmore family?"

"I'm an adult now, about to go to college, not little anymore," Aurora retorted.

"Then wait until you're in college to worry about these things. I have something to do, so I have to go back to the company. I'll treat you to hot pot another day," Heath said, standing up to leave.

Aurora panicked. This was her first chance to get close to information about the Whitmore family since her rebirth. She had to find a way to know more, so she blurted out, "Can I visit your company?"

Heath finally focused on her and said, "Let's go."

Aurora quickly followed. When Kieran came to pick up Heath, he was somewhat bewildered to see Aurora getting into the back seat with him. Was the boss interested in a minor?

Kieran looked surprised for a long time until Heath gave him a cold glance. Kieran immediately stepped on the gas.

It wasn't until they were in the hotel elevator that Aurora realized what was happening. Weren't they going to talk about work? Why had they driven to a hotel?

Heath looked at her and said, "I never said we were going to the company office," and then walked into the room.

Aurora stood at the door, bewildered. She knew why Heath had looked at her that way when she suggested visiting. Now she didn't know whether to go in or leave.

Kieran explained, "This is just a branch in Seaview City. The president doesn't need to go there every day. All of Mr. Fairbank's affairs are handled in the hotel. If you don't want to stay here, I can take you back."

A step away from information about the Whitmore family, Aurora gritted her teeth and entered the hotel.

This was Heath's exclusive hotel suite, a two-bedroom apartment. Heath sat on the living room sofa, opened his laptop, glanced at Aurora, and said, "Feel free to look around."

Aurora wandered around the room, pretending to explore while listening to Kieran's report: "President, our people were discovered just outside American territory. They don't seem like Whitmore's people, more like mercenaries. We couldn't find where the goods were hidden. Please punish me!"

"What were the casualties?" Heath asked.

"Two dead, three injured," Kieran replied.

Heath lit a cigarette, angrily threw the documents on the floor, making a loud noise that startled Aurora.

A couple of photos slid out and slid to Aurora's feet. She picked them up and saw what was in the pictures.

They were probably taken by Heath's people during their investigation. It was a dock with containers everywhere and a few dock workers in the frame.

There was no substantial content, so Kieran said they hadn't found where the goods were.

But Aurora knew that whatever goods Heath was looking for were at this dock.

Because among those unnoticeable workers, Aurora saw an old acquaintance, Jasper Bennett, one of the people she had promoted.

According to Jasper's level, he shouldn't have appeared in such a place.

Aurora walked over to Heath, put the photo on the table, and asked, "What are you looking for?"

Heath looked at her and said, "Little girl, don't ask so much."

"Heath, I'm not little. Tell me," Aurora said.

"President..." Kieran wanted to stop her. This kind of secret shouldn't be told to outsiders.

"It's nothing. A batch of goods we wanted was hijacked on the high seas, that's all. We'll find it," Heath said.

The high seas! Olivia knew their previous activity range too well!

It was people from the Abyss Group!

The Whitmore family had used people from the Abyss organization to hijack Heath's goods on the high seas!

"What will happen if you find the people who hijacked the goods?" Aurora asked.

"Miss Aurora, those who rob President Fairbank's goods must pay the price," Kieran said.

Although she already had the answer in her heart, hearing Kieran say it made Aurora clench her fists. Once Heath found those goods, he would immediately eliminate the people who had hijacked them!

But among those people was Jasper Bennett!

---

Aurora could ignore everyone else, but not Jasper Bennett. He was her man, and she couldn't just stand by and watch Jasper become a pawn for the Whitmore family!

Aurora stood up and said, "Since you have other matters to attend to, I'll head back first."

Heath looked at her with amusement and said, "When you followed me here, you didn't seem to mind that I had things to handle. Now you suddenly care?"

Aurora blushed a little and said, "You go ahead with your work; I'm leaving."

"Kieran, escort Miss Pendleton," Heath ordered.

"No need, no need. I'll just grab a cab downstairs. You guys carry on," Aurora quickly waved her hand.

Kieran was indeed busy. If he couldn't find this shipment, the boss would have him torn to pieces.

Heath glanced at her and asked, "You sure you can get back on your own?"

Aurora nodded, and since Heath was tied up, he simply said, "Be careful on the road, and call me when you get there."

Aurora nodded, then headed for the elevator. Suddenly, she realized she didn't have Heath's number.

All the socialites in the city were breaking their heads trying to get Heath's contact information, but no one could find his number.

After leaving the hotel, Aurora hurriedly found an internet café, stormed in, and demanded a private booth from the owner. Once inside, she quickly logged into a website known to the assassins of the Abyss Group. As long as there was an internet connection, they could contact each other at any time.

With Aurora's rank, she could access any assassin's mission details and contact information. But this was also very risky. If someone of higher rank checked the access logs, they would discover the long-lost Olivia had reappeared!

But she couldn't care less about that now. She couldn't let Jasper die!

Aurora quickly found Jasper's mission details. His latest task was to intercept and escort a shipment not belonging to the Whitmore family, located at the dock.

Heath was just one step away from the truth!

Aurora found Jasper's phone number and called him using the phone she had borrowed from the café owner.

The phone was picked up almost immediately, and Aurora quickly said, "Jasper, leave the dock!"

"Who are you? How do you know I'm at the dock?" Jasper asked.

"I am..." Aurora hesitated. If she told Jasper that she was Olivia, how would she explain later that an assassin from Abyss had become Aurora Pendleton?

"I'm one of Olivia's people, just like you," Aurora said, thinking quickly.

"Where's Olivia? Why should I believe you?" Jasper asked.

"It's a long story. I'm just telling you to leave the dock now, or you'll soon be a corpse. If you can't trust me, trust Olivia!" Aurora said.

Jasper was silent for a long time on the other end, so Aurora added, "You were trained by Olivia herself. The tattoo on your right arm was chosen by her. Believe me! Leave the dock!"

Jasper gritted his teeth and said, "Alright!"

"Jasper, don't go back to Abyss. Find a place to hide, and I'll contact you again!" Aurora said.

Jasper hung up, and Aurora knew that if he lost the goods but escaped unharmed, Isabella Whitmore would find a way to have Dominic Ashcroft deal with him.

After hanging up, Aurora went online again and hacked into Heath's computer. She had secretly noted his computer account earlier at the hotel.

A chat window suddenly popped up on Heath's computer: "Mr. Fairbank, how about making a deal?"

Kieran's face turned white with fright. The boss's computer had been so easily hacked; they should all be ashamed.

Heath gave Kieran a look, and Kieran immediately started tracking the signal on another computer.

Aurora quickly received a reply: "What deal?"

"I know where your goods are. I'll give you the address, and you give me thirty million," Aurora said.

"Who are you? And why should I trust you?" Heath asked.

"Mr. Fairbank, you should know in business, trust is essential. If you believe me, the deal is done. If not, there's no point in talking further," Aurora said.

"I, Heath Fairbank, never do business with cowards hiding behind screens," Heath said.

Damn! Who's the coward? Aurora was so angry she wanted to smash the keyboard!

She had finally gotten information on the Whitmore family, and she couldn't let them easily swallow Heath's goods. She had to seize this opportunity to strike hard at the Whitmores!

"One last time, may I have your name?" Heath asked.

Aurora gritted her teeth: "Olivia Pendleton!"

"I've only heard of one Olivia Pendleton, a renowned international assassin. Are you interested in the Whitmore family?" Heath asked.

"It's a personal vendetta. You needn't worry, Mr. Fairbank. This deal, will you make it or not?" Aurora asked.

"The address?" Heath said.

"Payment first, then verification," Aurora replied.

She then sent her account information to Heath. It was an overseas account that Olivia had set up before, so even if Heath investigated, he wouldn't find Aurora's name.

A "ding" sound, and Aurora checked her phone message. Thirty million had been transferred!
