Chapter 8.a - The Collateral

Not long after, the sound of running water came from the bathroom.

Alexander sat down on one of the sofas with a deep sigh.

"Why would I do such a thing?"

What he had experienced tonight had been like a joke, but sadly it wasn't. All of this is real.

After realizing that Elisha was from the Foster family, Alexander immediately remembered an old plan he had forgotten. That was why he was willing to help.

"But still, 200 million bucks is too much." He grumbled. "Shit! I wish I had learned anything about this first, but the situation was not possible."

Alexander looked up. He stared at the hotel room ceiling for a few moments, and it looked like he was trying to count the number of crystals in the chandelier.

"I even agreed too quickly to want to help her. What the hell was I thinking?"

Elisha Foster was beautiful, but that certainly wasn't why Alexander wanted to help.

He is a calculating person. Alexander never makes rash decisions, which can later be detrimental to him.
