The air in Elan Vogue’s conference room shimmered with tension as Isla crossed one long leg over the other, brushing the silk of her charcoal colored dress softly.

A single glance from those stormy grey eyes silenced the whole room.

This was her realm now.

This was her throne.

Her kingdom.

Today she was here, not as the wife of a Blackwell.

Not as the woman who was wronged.

Now she was a woman reborn from ashes.

A woman rising as a phoenix.

As her team presented the revenue projections for the upcoming quarter, the glass walls framed the New York sky like a coronation jewel.

Isla Wilde didn’t just come back.

She came back to win. She came back to defeat all those people who watched while she fell in the deepest pits of despair.

But across the room, Leo Stone watched from the edge of the table, swirling amber liquid whiskey in a crystal glass. The faint curve of his mouth spoke volumes which he was left unspoken.

Here was a man with deep and dangerous threads tangled with the very woman that Isla aimed to ruin and destroy.

The woman, his mother - Claire Blackwell.

That Evening

The Langoon Lounge Bar

Leo lifted a glass of whiskey towards Isla, “To take down those people,” he said smoothly.

Isla smiled faintly. “To make sure those people don’t have a leg to stand on.”

He tilted closer to her, his voice dropping to an intimate and low whisper. “You’re brave, Isla. But bravery doesn’t always make one win.”

“Then I'll become ruthless. I'll win….at any cost.” she replied, her voice laced with determination.

Leo watched the steel in her gaze. “You’re making an enemy out of Claire. She's not a woman one can easily take down.”

“If you think this way then you don’t know me well enough, Mr. Stone.”

He smirked. “Perhaps. But I do know her. Too damn well.”

Isla froze for a moment and raised her eyebrows. “What do you mean?”

Leo’s voice softened for a second only to harden once again as the past memories swirled inside his mind like a curse. “My family and Claire have…a long history. Let’s just say that she has buried more than one truth about herself. Including one about a Stone boy and a family she ruined long ago.”

Isla’s breath caught in her chest, just for a moment.

“Help me bury Claire Blackwell for good,” she said quietly.

Leo’s jaw tightened and a smirk tugged at his lips. “With you? Always, Isla.”

Meanwhile at Lucian Blackwell’s Office- The same day

The screen glowed in the darkness as Lucian poured himself another drink and watched the surveillance footage, his eyes as sharp as a hawk.

Isla and Leo. They were together in a bar talking like old friends.

The way Leo spoke to her, the way Leo looked at Isla, the faint, almost slightly softening in Isla’s expression.

The edge of a smile that once used to belong to him.

There was a time when Isla Wilde used to smile at him the same way…

Something inside him snapped

He hated this.

He hated seeing her with another man.

A twisted feeling arose in his heart. Something which felt like obsession.

He gripped the glass until it nearly shattered.

“Leo Stone,” he growled aloud.

“Of all the goddamn people…why him”

He pressed a button on his phone. “Julien, dig deeper. I want everything you can find about Leo Stone and Claire. Every link, every secret, every buried skeleton.”

He sank into the chair, his voice dropping to a low whisper.

“What are you hiding from me, Isla? I'll find out no matter what it takes.”

Midnight

In Isla’s Penthouse

The city glimmered beyond the glass windows, but inside, the air was charged with coldness.

Isla stood by the floor-to-ceiling glass, brushing a finger over the faint scar along her palm.

Memories surged inside her mind, memories of loss, of betrayal, and pain.

The sound of a soft chime suddenly announced Leo’s arrival.

He stepped into the room like a dark shadow, closing the door quietly behind him.

“Claire Blackwell ruined my family,” he said, his voice shaking slightly. “She buried my father’s company. She ruined his reputation and left him to die broken in disgrace and humiliation. Everything I am and everything that I’ve built myself, everything I've done is to rise from the ruin and destroy Claire Blackwell.”

Isla turned back, rising to face him. The pain in his voice resonated with the same ache in her chest.

Claire Blackwell really was no less than a curse in their life.

“Then we have the same enemy, Leo,” she said softly. “And we have more to gain together. We have to ruin Claire the way she ruined us.”

Leo watched her for a long moment before extending his hand towards her. “Allies?”

She placed her hand in his, her voice firm. “Allies.”

The Same Night at Lucian’s Penthouse

The evidence was spreading across his desk now. All those documents, old press releases as well as the buried lawsuits. The threads pulled tight as if screaming that Leo Stone and Claire Blackwell weren’t just passing acquaintances. They were enemies, with a past tangled beneath blood and dirt.

And the woman at the center of it all was….Isla.

The same woman he had once failed.

The woman he had ruined.

The same woman he feels guilty towards now.

He slammed a hand down, shaking the desk hard.

What if Isla never betrayed him? What if Isla wasn't a golf digger? What is it was really a plan devised by his mother? But his mother won't do it. Or will she?

The thought swirled inside Lucian's mind like a plague.

“Why didn’t I see it? What if she never betrayed me? Why didn’t I protect Isla? Why?”

The burning obsession twisted inside his mind like a poison.

He pulled out a long-forgotten photo from the drawer. It was a picture of their wedding day

Isla was looking gorgeous and hopeful while Lucian was too proud and too blind.

“No. Not anymore,” he promised to himself in the haunting silence. “I’ll destroy every hand that tries to hurt my Isla.”

  • The Billionaire's Ex-wife is untouchable now   A Daughter’s Place

Isla found herself returning to the Dufort mansion every weekend now. At first, it was overwhelming, from the grandeur of the estate, the walls covered with portraits of a family she wasn’t sure she belonged to the warm but unfamiliar embraces she had come to accept. And just like that, little by little, the sharp edges of shock began to smoothen slowly.Sia would always greet her at the door, her arms open as if she had been waiting all week for this precious moment. Selene dragged her away on what she called “sister adventures” tea dates, shopping trips, late-night movies as if they were trying to create a lifetime of sisterhood into the years they lost together. But it was Dominic who surprised Isla the most.He didn’t push her. He didn’t demand her to call him dad.. He was simply there for her. Whether it was waiting patiently while she looked at those old photo albums, or walking beside her in the gardens, or watching Aaric run around the estate with a quiet smile, Dominic gave

  • The Billionaire's Ex-wife is untouchable now   His First Child

The Saturday sun spilled golden light over the Duforts’ vast estate, its marble floors glowing under the sunshine. It was Isla's another week of agreeing to spend time with them, and this time Sia and Selene had insisted on a “girls’ day.” Lucian had been amused and relieved, when Sia promised that Aaric would be spoiled rotten under his grandfather’s watch.“Go,” Lucian had murmured at the car, pressing a kiss to her temple softly. “I’ll manage with Aaric today.”Isla let out a smile.Inside the glossy black limousine, Selene looped her arm around Isla’s with a sisterly ease that startled her. “We’re going to City Street first. The boutiques there are to die for. They are amazing ”Isla laughed softly. “I don’t really know if i should go-”“Oh come on, ice queen,” Selene teased, her eyes dancing just like their father’s. “Elser sisters don’t get to say no to their younger sisters.”Sia, sitting across from them, watched with a tenderness that seemed to ache through her watching her d

  • The Billionaire's Ex-wife is untouchable now   Weekend with the Duforts

The drive to the Duforts’ mansion had become almost routine now, though Isla still felt a flutter inside her nerves each time the estate gates swung open. Lucian’s hand rested reassuringly over hers on the leather console between them while Aaric chattered excitedly in the backseat about his new grandparents and recounting every fun thing they had done over the past week.“It’s Sunday, Yay! We’re going to see Grandma Sia!” he squealed, bouncing in his seat. “And the garden flowers! And maybe we can play in the library too!”Lucian chuckled softly, shaking his head at his chirpy son,“Careful, Aaric. You might give your mother a whiplash with all that excitement.”Isla smiled at the nickname, a warmth spreading through her chest. Each weekend she had spent with the Duforts had been a careful balance of curiosity laced with hesitation, openness mixed with a lingering doubt. But slowly, she found herself letting go, allowing all the small gestures, the laughter, and the shared stories to

  • The Billionaire's Ex-wife is untouchable now   Warmth of a mother

The Blackwell car rolled to a slow stop outside the wrought-iron gates of the Dufort estate. The early Sunday sun painted strokes of pale gold, dew still clinging to the edges like diamonds. Isla sat stiffly beside Lucian, her fingers absently tightening around the strap of her handbag. She had agreed to meet the Duforts again. She reminded herself. She had agreed to come here without Aaric, to see them as their daughter. Still, the very word tangled in her chest.Lucian reached over and touched her hand. “You don’t have to force yourself,” he murmured. His voice was quiet, protective, the tone he reserved only for her.“I know,” Isla replied, forcing a small smile. “But I need to know who I was before.”The gates opened and the car moved forward, revealing the sprawling Dufort’s mansion beyond. When they entered, Sia Dufort was already waiting at the top of the stairs. The older woman’s eyes softened as soon as they found Isla. She came forward quickly, not with hesitation but with

  • The Billionaire's Ex-wife is untouchable now    A mother’s pain

The drive back from the Dufort mansion was quiet. Aaric had dozed off in his car seat, his little head tilted against the soft cushion and his soft breathing a gentle rhythm in the tension like silence.Isla sat rigid, her gaze fixed on the blur of trees and city beyond the glass. Her nails dug faint crescents into her palm, every muscle tight, as though letting herself relax might let everything she’d been holding back pour out. Lucian studied her, he could see the calm mask she wore, the way her storm-grey eyes shone with a glassy sheen she refused to spill. He didn’t press her further. When they finally returned to the Blackwell mansion, Isla carried Aaric into his room, tucking him in with her quiet and motherly gentleness. She lingered with a small yet broken smile at his bedside, brushing back his curls, watching him sleep like he was the only steady truth in her collapsing world.Only after the door clicked shut did her facial expression change.Lucian was waiting in the livin

Isla hadn’t slept for a single hour. She had spent the night sitting on the edge of their bed, her back pressed against the headboard, The files kian had sent were open in her trembling hands. Every word cut her open, every photograph felt like a stranger stealing her memories, stealing her past.Sabrinal Dufort. Heiress. A stolen child. A missing girl. The names swirled in her mind like a curse.Lucian hadn’t pushed her into thinking any further. In fact he had simply stayed close, silent but watchful, his hands were brushing against hers every time she faltered. His presence was the only thing tethering her to remain sane at this point. When the sun rose, the storm inside her hadn’t silenced down.“I need time,” Isla whispered, her storm-grey eyes raw with exhaustion. “I can’t just switch families overnight, Lucian. The Montgomerys raised me. They were my parents. And now suddenly I’m supposed to believe I was stolen?” Her voice broke on the last word.Lucian cupped her face, forcin
