The midnight mist pressed itself upon Manhattan like a sheet. The corridors of Blackwell & Co., usually sharp, felt still and silent tonight. The soft hum of neon lights from the city winked faintly beyond the tall windows, and inside the office, silence weighed down like cold ice upon marble.

It started with a soft sound.

A faint alert chimed from Lucian’s laptop.

He was slouched in the leather chair, his shirt sleeves rolled, tired lines carving faint shadows upon his sharp cheekbones. Yet as the screen winked to life, the air changed into a cold atmosphere. The headline blared across the screen screaming.

BREAKING: DR. ELARA JENSEN CONFIRMED DEAD IN TRAGIC ACCIDENT

June 24. Upstate New York. A single-car crash. No survivors found.

The sting that rose inside his heart was sharp and fast. Lucian froze for a moment.

Elara Jensen , the witness, the doctor, the keeper of secrets buried five years ago, the woman who was the only way for him to know what happened five years ago is gone.

  • The Billionaire's Ex-wife is untouchable now   Whispers in the Boardroom

The city hummed outside the glass walls of the café, but inside, there was a different kind of tension. Isla Montgomery sat at the corner table dressed sharply in a steel-grey pantsuit, her stormy eyes locked on the door. Her fingers tapped rhythmically on her cup, from calculation. Aaric was at his school and Isla and Lucian had decided to pick him up once they're done with this work. And today wasn’t just a meeting. It was a rebellion. The door opened. Two women entered, both of them cautious. One wore a navy blazer, the other a simple cardigan. They looked out of place here, not because of how they dressed, but because of how they carried themselves. Like survivors. Like warriors.Isla stood up to greet them."Thank you for coming. I know this wasn’t easy."The woman in the blazer, Serena Kline, nodded hesitantly. “You said it’s safe to talk here.”“It is,” Isla assured. “But more than that it’s time we stop being silent.”They sat. The conversation started slowly. Serena and the

The rain fell in silver ribbons that streaked across the villa’s balcony, each drop sounding like a soft heartbeat against the wooden floor. The sky hung heavy, dimming the world into shades of blue and grey. Isla stood barefoot, the hem of her dress damp, her arms folded across her chest as she stared out over the garden. The storm had finally come not just in the clouds, but in her as wellLucian stepped out quietly behind her. His steps were light, tentative, as if he feared she might vanish with the next gust of wind. She didn’t turn, but she felt his presence. The soft creak of the balcony, the faint scent of his cologne clinging to the rain-soaked air.“Isla,” he said, voice low and raw. Heavy with emotions. She closed her eyes. The storm blurred everything before her. But it couldn’t blur the ache inside her heart.“You shouldn’t be out here. You’ll catch a cold,” she whispered. He stepped beside her, silent for a moment. Then, “I needed to see you.”She looked up at the sky.

The afternoon sun bathed the villa in a soft, amber glow. The garden buzzed with bees drifting lazily between lavender stalks and wild rosemary. Isla sat on the picnic blanket Aaric had insisted they use, her bare feet tucked beneath her and her eyes on her son, who was running after butterflies.Lucian watched them from across the garden, his heart a clenched fist in his chest. He had always known how to command a boardroom, how to destroy with precision. But this fragile domestic hope…he didn’t know how to hold without crushing it. And yet, he wanted to try. For them. For Isla. For the boy they created from love and lost to cruelty. He approached slowly, carrying a small wooden box in his hand."He’s... different with you," Isla murmured, not looking at him. Her eyes were still on Aaric, who now giggled and threw himself on the grass.Lucian knelt beside her. "He’s different because he’s finally being loved the right way."She looked at him then, her lips pressed into a wary line. S

  • The Billionaire's Ex-wife is untouchable now   Tangle of Hearts

The afternoon sun filtered softly through the curtains, casting golden streaks across the villa’s cozy living room. Isla was on the floor with Aaric, a pile of glitter, glue sticks, and cut-out shapes between them. Her dress was speckled with crayon marks, but she didn’t care. Aaric was laughing, his small fingers gripping a safety scissor as he cut out a crooked heart from red paper happily Lucian entered with a tray of snacks, apple slices, peanut butter crackers, and juice boxes. He paused in the doorway. He didn’t say a word as he just watched his family with a happy smile on his face.Aaric looked up and chirped. “Papa, look! I made this heart for Mama!”Lucian smiled at the boy. Isla giggled. She accepted the heart with trembling fingers. “It’s beautiful,” she whispered, then looked at Lucian. “He’s been making a scrapbook.”Lucian knelt beside them. “Can I help too?”Aaric nodded eagerly and scooted to make space between them. “We’re making one for all the days we spend togeth

The villa was quiet that morning, draped in soft sunlight, with the gentle scent of lemon trees wafting in from the garden. Inside, Lucian adjusted his cufflinks while Isla zipped Aaric’s jacket. He stood with his tiny arms out, grinning, his curls bouncing slightly as he hopped in place. Now they would always bring Aaric back with them once he attended his classes and thankfully today was Sunday.“Are we going now?” Aaric asked, eyes wide with joy.Isla nodded. “Museum day. Your papa picked it.”Lucian blinked at the word.Your papa. The word made his day.He didn’t dare say anything, only offering his hand to Aaric as they stepped outside into the soft, golden morning.***The museum was an old estate-turned-gallery, filled with wide sunlit halls and paintings that looked like dreams frozen in time. Lucian guided them through the exhibits with a quiet reverence, explaining the brushstrokes of an old Monet, the sorrow hidden in a sculpture’s eyes, the significance of each story pain

  • The Billionaire's Ex-wife is untouchable now   The Unspoken Hope

The scent of vanilla and butter wafted through the quiet villa kitchen, mingling with soft morning light that spilled across the marble countertops. Isla stood in front of the stove, spatula in one hand, flipping a golden pancake while Aaric stood on a stool beside her, proudly dropping blueberries into the batter. His nose crinkled in concentration, so much like Lucian’s that Isla had to blink away the love in her eyes.Lucian leaned against the doorframe, watching them in silence, his eyes filled with adoration for them.It was a picture he never thought he’d see in this life. His son standing beside the woman he loved, morning sunlight haloing them both. Isla wore a loose cardigan, her hair up in a messy bun, and Aaric was in pajamas covered with tiny rocket ships. It looked so normal. So safe. So real. Most of all it looked so domesticated.“Mama, do we flip it now?” Aaric asked excitedly.Isla smiled at her little boy. Lucian inhaled sharply, eyes darting to her. Her hands still
