Amelie’s POV

I know this is the right decision to stay with Nathan in the hospital. Dr. Fellows said she would only let me stay if I got checked out thoroughly. I conceded and went to her office. She had the lab run bloodwork to make sure my hCG levels were good. Which they were, in fact, Dr. Fellows said, they were a little elevated. Dr. Fellows treated my wrists and gave me cream for them.

I promised her I would eat properly while staying at the hospital.

“Amelie, it’s not just yourself you’re caring for, it’s the baby too,” she said, smiling.

“I know, I promise I will take care of us,” I stated as I put my hand on my belly.

“Good, now go and stay close to your husband,” Dr. Fellows advised. “I have a feeling he knows when you’re in the room.”

“Thanks, doctor,” I said and left her office.

I went straight back to Nathan’s room, which happened to be the same one Carrington stayed in, way back at the start of our story. I smiled, thinking of how my life had completely changed in a span

Paul’s POVDinner was amazing. It’s always great to get together with friends and share laughs and good conversations. It seemed to lift Amelie’s spirits as well, which we were all happy about. Madison and I called it an early night, as we had to start packing our suitcases. After playing a couple of games of cribbage, we retired for the night. We woke up this morning, once again, tangled with each other. We are currently on the way to the airport to fly to Los Angeles and then connect to New York.“So, did you have a good time on Maui?” I asked Madison.“The second half of the trip was amazing,” Madison grinned. “Thanks for taking care of me and letting me stay in your room.”“No thanks needed. I just wish I knew what your father was doing earlier so I could have gotten you away from him sooner,” I advised.“Wish that too,” Madison stated. “Paul, I think we should keep our connection lowkey with the group for now. Just pretend for my dad.”“Why?” I questioned, puzzled.“Because if w

Paul’s POVI had the best night of sleep of my life. I had built the Great Wall of China out of pillows in between us because I didn’t want Madison to feel uncomfortable sleeping in the same bed together.“That really isn’t necessary, Paul,” she had giggled. I insisted on making her feel comfortable. There is an obvious reason the Great Wall isn’t made of pillows. It is not structurally sound. By the morning, all the pillows are missing. Madison and I are tangled up in each other like we are interconnected puzzle pieces. I woke up first and tried to disengage from her to no avail. Her beautiful red hair is fanned out across my chest, and her leg is hooked around mine, as she purrs softly in her sleep. She looks so sweet and innocent as she lies there. How can anyone do what her father did to her? He will never touch her again. I will die before I let that happen.Madison stirred about twenty minutes later.“Hey,” I said, smiling.“Oh my gosh,” Madison said, pulling away from me. “I’m

Madison’s POVI walked out of the bathroom, and Paul was missing. I panicked. Where could he have gone?I heard banging outside in the hallway.“Open the fucking door, Franklin!” An angry voice yells.Shit. Is Paul banging on Daddy’s door?I quickly ran to the door and opened it; my suspicions were confirmed as I peered out.“Paul! What are you doing?” I asked, frantically.“Getting ready to beat the shit out of your father,” Paul stated, banging again on the door. “I’m not joking, Franklin, open the fucking door before I kick it down.”“Please get back in the room, Paul,” I pleaded, my voice cracking. “I’m begging you, Paul, please.”Paul breathed out and looked at me, standing in the doorway, sighed, and walked back to his room.“Damn you, Madison, and your voice of reason,” he smirked.I crossed my arms and held the door open for him to enter. As he passed by me, he looked down and gulped. I followed his gaze and noticed my crossed arms were pushing up my tits so they were almost b

Paul’s POVI’m literally seething as I storm away from the bar, dragging Madison behind me. If Madison hadn’t been there, I would not have stopped punching him until I ended him. Just thinking about what he has done to Madison makes my blood boil.“Ow, Paul, you’re hurting my wrist,” Madison whined.I stopped dead in my tracks, turned around, and kissed Madison hard on the lips. I just want to take all the vile memories and touches from her and replace them with passion and intimacy. I broke the kiss and grinned.“What was that for?” Madison asked, smiling.“You know the movie Men in Black?” I asked.“Yes, of course, it’s an iconic movie,” Madison replied. “What does that have to do with you kissing me?”“I’m hoping it’s like the Neuralyzer in the movie,” I stated. “I hope it makes you forget everything your dad ever said or did to you.”Madison threw her arms around me and took me in a tight hug. I hugged her back.“Why do you always know exactly what to say to make me feel better?”

Madison’s POVPaul is amazing. I can’t believe that someone knows my horrible truth but is still willing to support me. I would think no one would want such a damaged human being. I feel dirty and soiled. Used and discarded. Paul didn’t seem to care, though. What he was, though, was angry, so very angry. Angry that my father could do this to me. An intense anger that could lead him to do something stupid to my father. The problem was that he didn’t even know half of it. I was afraid to tell him all the sordid details. How could anyone learn to love someone so… broken.“Hey, so I was thinking,” Paul said, smiling. “That we need to have a plan. Hear me out.”“A plan?” I asked curiously.“Yes. We don’t want to raise suspicion where your father is concerned,” Paul stated. “So, welcome to your new boyfriend.” He said, pointing at himself.“What?” I said, shocked.“Yes, so when we return to New York, I will stay at your place once and a while, because sure as fuck, I am not leaving you alon

Madison’s POV“What do you mean, Paul?” I asked, feigning innocence.“Madison,” Paul said, scolding me. “You know what. Do you need me to say it?”“What are you talking about, Paul?” I said, nervously.“I heard your dad on the phone while he was on the balcony,” Paul stated.“Oh,” I said, lowering my head.Paul reached forward and lifted my chin so our eyes met. His blue eyes pierced my soul, as if they were searching for something, maybe answers.“It’s not your fault,” Paul attested.“I know,” I whispered.“Madison, it’s not your fault,” he repeated.I just closed my eyes.“Madison… it… is… not… your… fault,” Paul said, forcefully. The floodgate of my tears burst through. It’s as if the years of abuse were trying to escape my body. No one, not a single person, EVER cared to ask what was going on with me. Nobody knew. Now, finally, someone was on my side. The tears came hot and heavy. Then Paul did something I didn’t know my soul needed. He hugged me. He hugged me to keep the pieces o
