“You told me it was over," she spoke. "Do you have feelings for this slut?"
"I love her. I want to be with her, not you," he replied. "There is nothing you can do to change that."
"I don't understand," she screamed, "She is nothing, a nobody. Have your fling like you always do, and be done with her. I am not moving out of the way for that, that woman."
"No, you don't understand," he declared. "You never meant anything to me. You were a business deal—a marriage of convenience. I have what I want from you. I fulfilled my obligation. Now I want a divorce."
She picked up the crystal vase and threw it in the direction of his head. He moved just in time to dodge it. It struck the fireplace brick and shattered in a ton of jagged shards.
"ARE YOU CRAZY?" He stared at her, bewildered.
"You're the one that has lost your mind," she said coyly. "I will take you for EVERYTHING you are worth. Let's see how long it lasts when your reputation is smeared all over the sidewalk."
"Are you threatening me?" He laughed.
"Call it what you want. I will destroy you," she responded.
"You seem to have forgotten two very important points," he snarled at her, "First of all, you signed an ironclad prenup agreement. Second, I have the photos, remember?"
"You wouldn't!" She yelled.
"Try me."
"You will regret this," she threatened. "You both will regret this."
"The only thing I regret is the fact that I married you in the first place," he replied. He turned and walked out the door, leaving her standing there.
As soon as the door closed, she reached for her phone. "Come on, pick up the phone," she said with disdain.
"Hello," a male voice answered.
"Evander, we need to meet," she advised.
"When?" Evander asked, "Same location as usual?"
"Tomorrow, 10 am. Regular location," she demanded. "I will pay 4 times the regular rate. This is a special request. It needs to be done quickly and discreetly."
"You can count on my team," Evander said.
"Good," She hung up the line.
The maid walked in. "Clean up this mess," she barked at the maid and sashayed out of the room.
NEXT DAY
"How long do we have to wait for this lady," the dark-haired man said to his partner.
"As long as it fucking takes," Evander replied, "She is paying us enough to retire."
"Really? She must want these people dead," the dark-haired man shook his head.
The room was so dark that he barely knew she had entered except for the sound of her high heels clicking their way across the floor. He shivered as a cold aura of power hit his body as she approached.
“You understand,” she said in an elegant voice. “It needs to look like an accident.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Evander said, “my team is the best there is. No one will even question their deaths.”
“For what I'm paying you,” she declared, “it better be good. I want them gone. I want them to feel the pain they have given me for all these years. I want everyone that loves them to suffer. To live with pain for the rest of their lives. You have one week.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Once again, her heels clicked along the floor, this time signaling her departure. The door snapped shut.
Evander shook his head, “That is one cold-hearted bitch.”
Amelie’s POVI was beyond excited. I got to meet all my babies. I had only seen Baby A before I had passed out. The orderlies wheeled my entire bed over to my new room.A nurse walked in when I settled into the room.“Good evening, Mrs. Michaels,” the nurse said, smiling. “My name is Ena. I can honestly say in my twenty-six years as a nurse, I’ve never seen Quintuplets. You’re so tiny as well, too!”“Well, I felt like a house yesterday,” I giggled.“A great sense of humor, you’ll need it with so many children,” Ena said. “Do you want us to bring them all in, or one at a time?”I looked at Nathan and smiled. “Can you bring them all in?”“We certainly can. I’ve been working the nursery most of the afternoon and evening, and they are such good babies already,” Ena stated. “I’ll be right back.”Ena returned about ten minutes later with four other nurses.Oh my gosh, all these babies were mine! Well, mine and Nathan’s. I can’t believe we made all these lives.“So, skin contact is really im
Nathan’s POV“Dr. Abrams,” I exclaimed. “Where is Amelie?”“Can we speak in private?” Dr. Abrams asked.“Anything you need to say, you can say in front of my family,” I declared.“At least have a seat, Nathan,” Dr. Abrams advised.I sat down, and my heart sank. It was as if he was bracing me for bad news.“Nathan, Amelie started to hemorrhage out because her uterus wasn’t contracting at all,” Dr. Abrams explained. “We didn’t know how to stop it or why it was happening.”“Doctor, are you telling me… she’s gone?” I said, with a shocked look on my face.“No, Nathan,” Dr. Abrams stated. “Oh my God, no. You thought I was going to tell you she was dead?”I breathed a sigh of relief.“Yes, you look so worried,” I declared.“No, I’m mad at myself. After we delivered the four babies, I started to prep to close her up. Then noticed that her uterus wasn’t contracting, and it started to hemorrhage,” Dr. Abrams informed. “That’s when we kicked you out of the room.”“So, what happened?” I questione
Nathan’s POVI was extremely nervous for Amelie. No matter how many times C-sections were performed, it was still surgery. A doctor was cutting my wife open. I know this was the safest for Amelie and the babies, but I still didn’t want her in any pain.Dr. Abrams and I scrubbed up and put on our operation scrubs, hats, gloves, and masks.“So, are you ready?” Dr. Abrams chuckled.“Shouldn’t I be asking you that?” I laughed. “You’re the one doing all the work.”“Touche,” Dr. Abrams stated. We entered the operating room, and Amelie was already prepped and positioned on the operating table. Dr. Abrams had opted for Amelie’s arms not to be tied down, but asked me to hold both of her hands during the surgery. They had her slightly tilted to the left so they could put the spinal anesthesia in to freeze her lower half so she wouldn’t feel any pain. I pulled up the rolling stool beside her head and grabbed both of her hands in one of mine and then stroked her hair with my other hand.“How are
Amelie’s POV“Oh my God!” I shrieked.“Amelie? What’s wrong?” Nathan said, worried.“I think my water just broke,” I stated. I looked down, and my leggings were changing color as the liquid ran down my legs.“The babies are coming?” Nathan said, looking like a deer in the headlights.I felt the first contraction then and started my breathing.“Was that a contraction?” Morgan asked.“Yes,” I replied.“Someone start timing!” Kimmy yelled. “Dante, let Zander know and call an ambulance!”Dante took off down the stairs to the bottom, where security was standing. He spoke with the security guard, and the guard radioed someone on his walkie-talkie. Then Dante ran back up the stairs.“The security guard said Come down to field level,” Dante explained. “They always have an ambulance on standby just in case of injuries. They are pulling it into the stadium as we speak. He also radioed the dressing room for someone to let Zander know.”Nathan and Dutton led me down to field level towards the wai
Amelie’s POVEven though I feel bigger than a house, I’ve never felt sexier in my life. Nathan fawned over me like I was a supermodel. After our shower, he dried me off and helped me pick out some warm clothes for the football game. We were just finishing getting dressed when the familiar gentle knock came at the door.“Come in, Bug,” Nathan yelled.“Mummy! Daddy!” Eliza called and ran towards us.Nathan bent down to pick her up in a hug and carried her towards me. We did a group hug.Nathan put Eliza down on the ground. Eliza immediately lay her head down on my belly and hugged it. “Hi, babies, I can’t wait to meet you,” Eliza said softly.“Well, Eliza, you get to meet them next week,” I explained. “Because there are four babies, they need to take the babies out on Monday.”“Really?” Eliza said, her eyes went wide. “I get my babies?”“Yes,” Nathan said, smiling.“YAY!” Eliza shrieked, bouncing up and down.“Lizzybug, we'd better go get you changed for Zander’s football game,” I instr
Amelie’s POVI feel like a house, with roommates who won’t let me sleep. I swear, two of the babies work the night shift and two are nine-to-fivers. Either that or they are playing soccer in there.I hit thirty-seven weeks yesterday. I’ve now been referred to an OBGYN specialist, as Nathan, the worrywart, wanted me to have the best doctor possible. I also had an assistant at work, and since the beginning of August, a permanent midwife has been staying with us 24/7. Her name is Lakshmi, and she is the nicest person I think I’ve ever met. I have learned a ton of interesting things about the East Indian culture. She even did mehndi on my stomach and hands for a photo shoot. It looked absolutely amazing. Nathan loved it so much that he has a picture of it in his office and another in his den at home. The phone rang again, Nathan…“Hi, baby,” I answered.“How is my sexy wife doing?” He asked.“Feeling very unsexy,” I giggled. “I feel like a beached whale this afternoon,” I said as I put on
