The lock clicked, and it sounded like a bomb going off in my head. I turned around, my heart jumping into my throat. I grabbed the handle twisting it in desperation but the handle wouldn’t move, no surprise there.

“Alex—”

“Save it,” he said, cutting me off. He walked further into the room, acting like he owned the place. “You’re not going anywhere until I say so.”

My throat went dry. The walls seemed to close in, and the leather and steel stuff reflected the dim red light. I had only seen stuff like this online and in movies, places like this rich men like Alex had, but I never thought I would be in one and I sure as hell never thought I would be stuck inside it too.

I tried to joke, just to hide how scared I was. “So, you have some kind of torture room in your house? How original.”

He didn’t even crack a smile. He just turned around slowly, looking me up and down like I was already chained up. “Not torture, Ethan. It’s more like… training, lessons.” He walked to a leather chair slowl
