Chapter Three

Cognac?

Or was it whiskey?

It didn’t matter what alcoholic beverage he drank. All I knew was that it was intoxicating as hell.

Dominic Volkov kissed like a god and with a burning passion that made me weak in the knees. My breath hitched as he raised my legs to rest on his waist, whilst he cupped the nape of my neck and deepened the kiss.

God he was so—

Wait. He’s exactly who he is—My boss!

I was kissing my infuriatingly beautiful boss who’d made the last month of my life a burning hell, the man responsible for my paychecks every month, and I was loving every part of it!

I had to stop it!

“Wait…” my voice was hoarse as I broke away from his lips which made him squirm, “Sir I—

“Shhhhh…..” he pinned me down even tighter, “Don’t think. Just feel.”

Then he went down on my neck and my brain practically went to mush. Here I was, deep in the arms of a man I hated and enjoying the pleasures he had to offer.

“You’re drunk.” My voice was meek, my protest nothing but a fluke and a sham, “You don’t—“ he licked my earlobe and I gasped, “You don’t know what—Mr Volkov!!” I practically let out a moan as he bore his teeth into the space between my neck and the start of my shoulder.

My brain was screaming at me to end this. My body reacted entirely different, right under the luscious spell he’d casted.

I hated him. I wanted him.

I hated him so much and God how much I wanted him at the moment.

“This is a mistake.” I whispered breathlessly as he began taking off his jacket.

His eyes, vivid with lust and a fire i’d never seen froze me in place. I watched like I was under a spell, as Dominic Volkov stripped out of his shirt until I was staring at the brick hard planes of his chest. I was annoyed as I was drooling over his well chiseled abs and broad shoulders.

Or course. The Arrogant prick just had to be built like a Greek god.

“Mr V—

“Let’s take this to my room.”

“This is a—“ He was kissing me again before I could object even further, almost like it was his secret weapon.

I was so lost in his taste that I barely realized I’d been carried, wrapped around his waist and headed towards his bedroom.

Stop!

Amelia Stop!

I could feel my intuition screaming and nagging at me.

“You’re so…..” He nuzzled my neck, “Gosh Malishka, you’re so—

He said something sweet, in his home language, Russian I think. He could barely finish the words, crushing his lips to mine again. I squirmed, wrapping my arms around his neck as he slammed the door behind him.

“We shouldn’t do this.” My words had no bite to them.

“I know,” he whispered, and then I gasped as his thumb grazed my inner thigh, “Like I said…..just think. Don’t feel, Malishka”

.~.~.~.~.~.~.~

“Mmmmmhhh….” I blubbered under my breath, stretching my arms on the softest silk sheets I’d ever slept on until—

Silk sheets?

I was basically living paycheck to paycheck which only meant I couldn’t afford nice sheets!

My eyesight was a haze. I rubbed them constantly to get a clear view, when the sudden presence of someone else was felt beside me.

The musk. The familiar scent of Cedar and intimidation wafted it’s way into my nose. I froze, the events of last night already playing through my mind as I slowly turned to Dominic Volkov still gravely asleep, like he hadn’t just turned my whole world upside down.

“Oh God,” the gravity of what I’d done landed on me with a punishing force, “Oh dear God.”

I clasped my mouth tightly as he stirred in his sleep, careful to not wake him up as I couldn’t bear to face him at the moment. For heavens sake he was my boss!! The man I hated and who hated me back! And we’d gone at it throughout the night without giving it much thought as to how we’d face each other at the office this morning!

He murmured in his sleep and I held my breath, acting like a statue of the sort.

How could I have done such a thing??

I was the ‘ever responsible Amelia’. I wasn’t known for making such mistakes. How did I let a ruthless and drunk russsian conglomerate heir trick me into warming his bed for the night??

The guilt that wrapped its evil clutches around me was overwhelming, down to a point where I felt tear ducts forming at the corner of my eyes. I watched him sleep peacefully, the nerve of the damn bastard to be deep in his slumber whilst I was nothing but a wrecking ball of emotions.

I made a move, before the gavel of shamw came on me any further. He suddenly grabbed my hand, like he could sense my nerves, “Be still, An….Anna, Krasivy,” he murmured, still deep, “Stay.”

Anna?

My name was Amelia.

He slept with me, made me realize there was more to making love than the men I’d been used to.

Dominic Volkov had turned my innards to mush, and made me scream his name through the night, only to mutter the name of another right in front of me.

The embarrassment wasn’t even cutting it. I was gutted beyond repair.

I couldn’t take it anymore, ignoring his words as I quickly got out of the bed and slipped into my clothes. I looked back at him one last time, brushing the stray tear that escaped before it streamed down my cheek.

My boss thought he’d slept with Anna. Probably the woman he actually loved.

I was no Anna. I was just the lowly secretary who’d just given him an opening,

And like the ruthless bastard that he was, he stabbed me in the heart again.

Damn Volkov.

  • The Billionaire’s Fortune Baby    Nine

Chapter Nine It became all a blur. One minute I was in the office of a formidable foe, getting ready to protest his ludicrous demands of marriage, and the next I was in a room with a simple white dress placed right in front of me. “Mr Volkov can be brash sometimes,” Maria muttered as she bounced around, patting Mikhail in a means to burp him after his feeding, “he means well, I promise you that.” I snorted at her words, “You don’t have to placate me. He’s a controlling bastard.” Maria chuckled softly, “He cares. I mean for the first time in a long time I haven’t seen Mr Volkov wreak havoc in the mansion. He’s more reserved with you.” Reserved?! He was on the verge of ruining my life and that’s him being reserved?! Giving me an ultimatum to either marry him or risk losing my child is him being fucking reserved?!! “Great.” I mumbled under my breath, “All I did was bear his son. Now I have to marry him,” rolling my eyes as I picked up the dress, “Congratu

  • The Billionaire’s Fortune Baby    Eight

Chapter Eight “Haha. Very funny.” I chuckled softly. His lips went grim. There was no expression of amusement on his face which only meant— “Wait.” I paused, “You’re not serious. Are you?!” Dominic ignored me. He clapped his hands and an older woman quickly rushed to where we stood, “Mr Volkov. It’s a pleasure to see you so soon, we weren’t expecting your arrival and— “Maria,” He said, “Please take the child from my fiancée, we have some things to discuss.” She was truly a professional, as shock on her face quickly vanished into thin air. I could’ve barely caught it if I wasn’t watching her intently . She pressed her lips tightly together and flashed a warm smile at me before reaching for Mikhail. “Don’t touch— “Amelia.” He admonished me calmly. My breath hitched for a moment as it was the first time I was hearing my actual name from him correctly—not Earhart, just Amelia, “Maria is known to be a certified child and house care provider. I assure you,

Chapter Seven.^.^.^DOMINIC.^.^.^ My child. I was a father—to a one month old I barely knew existed until ten minutes ago. My damned child. The brash reality of her words sank deeper than I thought. The snagged feeling of my heart being torn apart, my chest heaving terribly, the corner of my lips trembling as I processed the truth all together. I was Dominic Volkov. I made people fret at the mere sight of my presence. I took over companies with ruthless strategies and brazen tactics. I was a mastermind in all forms—and yet I was dumbfounded at the truth of being a father. My child. The delicate being wrapped in a blanket which had a stitching of Winnie the Pooh at the corner. He was mine. My offspring. My heir. All mine. And she kept him from me. My hands wound up so tight to the point of my knuckles being white. My jaw clenched as I finally could look her in the eye, “He’s my son.” I simply said, stating the fact that was already made. Amelia wa

  • The Billionaire’s Fortune Baby    Six

Chapter Six .^.^.^DOMINIC.^.^.^ Almost a year of barely any sleep, and the sole reason was standing right in front of me. Clad in loose fitting pants, a red blouse stained with milk and possible dried vomit, her hair all bundled up into a loose bun and bags in her eyes which suggested a better lack of sleep. She looked…..tired? And with a child? My secretary—the woman I’d plowed through every city and every database to search for was with a baby who— “Excuse me.” Uncaring towards the aghast look on my face, she brushed past me in a clear haste to get away. The baby in her grasp let out a muffled squeal before sleep overtook him again—or her? I wasn’t sure what the gender was but the snagged feeling I got in my heart was telling me all too well that something was afoot. “Earhart!” I picked up the pace, following her as she hastened her steps until we both reached outside the hospital’s building. “Mr Vol— “You have a child?!!” I raised my voice. I n

  • The Billionaire’s Fortune Baby    Five

Chapter Five (ONE MONTH LATER) Mikhail was exactly like someone I knew—hungry, demanding and frankly a pain in the ass. He was one month old and the most beautiful baby I’d ever seen. Of course he was, being my son and all. But it was the truth nonetheless, he had the perfect shade of brown-black hair and flubbering cheeks that made me run mine against them all day. But the most distinct feature of all; his brown eyes and the distinct hue of a piercing haze in them, just like someone I knew. A certain someone who makes my insides churn just at the thought of him. The birth was painful, unlike anything I’d ever faced, but it was all worth it hearing his cries come toghether. The doctor handed me my baby and I felt like everything was alright in the world, even if he had no one but me to love him. I was content. Alone. Still content. Right now, I wasn’t feeling too content seeing as Mikhail hasn’t stopped crying since last night. I had burped him, fed h

Chapter Four.^.^.^.DOMINIC.^.^.^ I woke up to an empty bed on the other side. The sheets, still warm with her scent whilst her presence was nowhere to be seen. My secretary. I was drunk and made love to a woman who ground my gears Everytime she flashed those guns of hers at another colleague at the office. It was unlike me, being so reckless. And yet, I’d never felt so free. Raking a hand through my hair, I managed to get out of bed. The reverie of her soft moans, the way she held onto me whilst I drove into her, the titillating way she screamed my name as we both reached the highest point of our ecstasy. It all slammed into me, at the same time an overwhelming sense of hangover which almost made me topple back onto the bed. I let out a groan. Damn Anna, ruining every single one of my plans to my carefully curated image getting frayed at the edges. Now I was awake, after spending the night with a woman I was bound to see in a few hours, with complicated feeling
