ログインThere is no one Amelia Earhart hates more than her new boss, but she also cannot deny the fact that Dominic Volkov is the most beautiful man she’d ever met, and a disaster waiting to happen. One night is all it takes, tempers flared and too many booze gone down the drain. Amelia finds herself in bed with the one man she’d gotten used to hating, and all hell breaks loose. Dominic Volkov is always up the next morning to an interview empty bed and a secretary who’s vanished into thin air. Months later and he comes to head with the same woman who’d haunted his dreams ever since, But there’s a twist, She’s with a baby who looks exactly like him! Dominic cannot remember the details or the night they spent, but one thing he knows?? Amelia Earhart is never leaving his sights again!! EXTRACT: Silence. My protest was met with a spine chilling silence. He came even closer, right until our toes could touch. His smell, an overbearing musk of Cedar and rage, consumed me entirely. Dominic Volkov was angry, and he grabbed me by the arm before I could think to run off again, “Let me go Vol— “You’re going to marry me.” I laughed, my voice laced with sarcasm, “Yeah right.” His brown eyes carried a rakish hue of danger, so steep that I couldn’t help but squirm, “I can’t—I can’t marry you. I just— “I wasn’t asking Krashnika,” he cut me off, “You’re the mother of my child and he will be my sole heir. I’ll be damned if my son’s legitimacy is questioned when he inherits my empire. This is not a question. We wed tonight.”

.~.~.~AMELIA.~.~.~ “Gosh our new boss is such a fucking prick.” I groaned in the employee lounge over the coffee machine, “Seriously. Ever since he’s assumed the position of CEO, he’s been nothing but a constant nightmare.” Ophelia, a colleague and the head of the finance team chuckled softly as she poured a bout of milk into her coffee, “We didn’t even know he existed. I mean the Volkov family are known for their ruthless practices, who knew they’d acquire us through private equity and have their heir assume position.” Private equity, acquisition blah blah blah. It didn’t matter, all I knew was the fact that my new boss was a massive pain in the ass and the worst human on planet earth. “He asked me for premium coffee,” I scoffed, “Can you believe it?? The only premium coffee there is is from Starbucks, not some bullcrap with French beans as he claims.” Ophelia laughed, “He’s fired over twenty staff in just a week.” I groaned, “I’m about to be the twenty first if I don’t get his ‘premium coffee’”, making air quotes, “to him soon. God I which I could just spit in it to tw h him a lesson.” Ophelia kept on laughing as I added just a dash of cream as he’d instructed to his “premium coffee” and left the employee lounge. I took the elevator as anything below a ninety-five degree was categorized as cold coffee to the wicked wizard. I was lost in thought, wondering how I was going to handle some of my overdue bills when the elevator pinged at the tenth floor. My breath hitched as my heart suddenly did a flip. It had been a regular occurrence since he assumed office. I gulped hard, walking slowly like headed towards my very own demise, And there he was, The very bane of my existence. All muscled, broad shoulders, and impeccable posture, hair all slicked in the right place, piercing brown eyes, and a jawline that could cut through panes of glass. My ever living boss, Dominic Volkov, all forms of handsome and wicked wrapped into a deliciously evil bundle. “Quit ogling, Earhart. You’re late.” His grating voice of disapproval cut through my brief trance, and it took a great deal of self restraint in me to avoid scowling. “The coffee machine was— “I don’t care what happened. If you took the time to actually do your job then you wouldn’t be here with warm coffee/“ It was still hot. The damned coffee was still burning right on top of my calluses, but I couldn’t dare say so. I gulped hard, already tired of his constant berating. Dominic Volkov was a tempered man, ill mannered if I say, but he seemed to hate me more than the others for reasons I couldn’t tell. I pressed my lips tightly, offering a reluctant apology before turning around to leave when he called me back, “—And Earhart,” “Yes, boss?” I blinked. “The next time you talk about spitting in my coffee, make sure it’s not within earshot of my investors.” I immediately went pale from the admission. Damn Ophelia, she could’ve told me he was had super power of hearing before I nagged constantly about how unreasonable he was. I gulped hard as my throat ran dry, my mouth opened but no words could come out, not when I was standing between being unemployed and my boss despising me even more. “I—I apologize for my— “Save it,” he cut me off, “There’s a charity gala tonight. I need you to attend as my assistant.” I nodded enthusiastically, grateful for them were fact he was letting my impudence slide, “What— “8pm sharp.” He answered before I could finish the question. As I made to leave, “—and look nice. The last thing I need is you traipsing in those shabby garments of yours.” I looked down at my clothes. A simple black dress which had seen better days but was too far from shabby. I gulped down the overwhelming urge to call him a prick to his face, and forced a smile insgwad. “You won’t be disappointed, sir.” I threatened to spit in his coffee, he deserved politeness from me at least. He snorted in response, “Oh I’m sure I will be.” I turned to leave, muttering the word “asshole” under my breath. “What’d you just call me?” I heard his voice rose from behind. “Nothing.” A quick lie. My voice was so hitched that even a toddler could tell o was bluffing. Dominic Volkov walked over to where I stood, all six foot four panes of dangerous masculinity and terrifying energy. Then he leaned closer, “No. Repeat what you just called me or you’re fired.” “But I— “I mean it, Earhart.”Chapter Nine It became all a blur. One minute I was in the office of a formidable foe, getting ready to protest his ludicrous demands of marriage, and the next I was in a room with a simple white dress placed right in front of me. “Mr Volkov can be brash sometimes,” Maria muttered as she bounced around, patting Mikhail in a means to burp him after his feeding, “he means well, I promise you that.” I snorted at her words, “You don’t have to placate me. He’s a controlling bastard.” Maria chuckled softly, “He cares. I mean for the first time in a long time I haven’t seen Mr Volkov wreak havoc in the mansion. He’s more reserved with you.” Reserved?! He was on the verge of ruining my life and that’s him being reserved?! Giving me an ultimatum to either marry him or risk losing my child is him being fucking reserved?!! “Great.” I mumbled under my breath, “All I did was bear his son. Now I have to marry him,” rolling my eyes as I picked up the dress, “Congratu
Chapter Eight “Haha. Very funny.” I chuckled softly. His lips went grim. There was no expression of amusement on his face which only meant— “Wait.” I paused, “You’re not serious. Are you?!” Dominic ignored me. He clapped his hands and an older woman quickly rushed to where we stood, “Mr Volkov. It’s a pleasure to see you so soon, we weren’t expecting your arrival and— “Maria,” He said, “Please take the child from my fiancée, we have some things to discuss.” She was truly a professional, as shock on her face quickly vanished into thin air. I could’ve barely caught it if I wasn’t watching her intently . She pressed her lips tightly together and flashed a warm smile at me before reaching for Mikhail. “Don’t touch— “Amelia.” He admonished me calmly. My breath hitched for a moment as it was the first time I was hearing my actual name from him correctly—not Earhart, just Amelia, “Maria is known to be a certified child and house care provider. I assure you,
Chapter Seven.^.^.^DOMINIC.^.^.^ My child. I was a father—to a one month old I barely knew existed until ten minutes ago. My damned child. The brash reality of her words sank deeper than I thought. The snagged feeling of my heart being torn apart, my chest heaving terribly, the corner of my lips trembling as I processed the truth all together. I was Dominic Volkov. I made people fret at the mere sight of my presence. I took over companies with ruthless strategies and brazen tactics. I was a mastermind in all forms—and yet I was dumbfounded at the truth of being a father. My child. The delicate being wrapped in a blanket which had a stitching of Winnie the Pooh at the corner. He was mine. My offspring. My heir. All mine. And she kept him from me. My hands wound up so tight to the point of my knuckles being white. My jaw clenched as I finally could look her in the eye, “He’s my son.” I simply said, stating the fact that was already made. Amelia wa
Chapter Six .^.^.^DOMINIC.^.^.^ Almost a year of barely any sleep, and the sole reason was standing right in front of me. Clad in loose fitting pants, a red blouse stained with milk and possible dried vomit, her hair all bundled up into a loose bun and bags in her eyes which suggested a better lack of sleep. She looked…..tired? And with a child? My secretary—the woman I’d plowed through every city and every database to search for was with a baby who— “Excuse me.” Uncaring towards the aghast look on my face, she brushed past me in a clear haste to get away. The baby in her grasp let out a muffled squeal before sleep overtook him again—or her? I wasn’t sure what the gender was but the snagged feeling I got in my heart was telling me all too well that something was afoot. “Earhart!” I picked up the pace, following her as she hastened her steps until we both reached outside the hospital’s building. “Mr Vol— “You have a child?!!” I raised my voice. I n
