Aria.

The animal came out of the darkness before I could even make a sound. Its massive and swift build caught our flashlight's beam with its sharp teeth, leaving me completely blind for a second.

Marcus yelled, "Down!" and exerted pressure on me.

With my voice, I tumbled onto the uneven terrain. I perceived a single gunshot coming from, followed by another. While my ears trembled, I cautiously looked back and tried to find some refuge, my palms scraped by the sharp stones.

The beasts’ growling and twisting caused Marcus to stand his ground with the gun pointed towards him, shielding him from harm. Even amid panic, I could see dark and thick blood pouring from the stone.' But it wasn't down. Not yet.

Fearing that he might fall, I exclaimed "Marcus!".

I just want to stop and say, hold on tight.

It charged again, this time with more rage, and I saw Marcus step sideways very quickly. He discharged his firearm one, two, and three times before striking the chest. It let out a cry of

Aria. My run was marked by branches hitting my face, but I didn't slow down. They were thick, dark, and untamed but better than the lab. Better than being trapped again. Our steps were growing in proximity. Marcus remarked that the guards were not present and were moving too quickly. Locke concurred that the strike team was too structured. "This is a group of professionals.". With my eyes wide open, I asked why they were chasing me. According to Locke, the drive is sought after by them, and they would rather kill us than risk it escaping. My pocket became tighter and I held it tightly. Over my dead body. We sprinted down a tight spur, sliding over roots and dirt. Despite my burnt legs, they were still moving due to fear. Then Marcus shouted, “Left this way!”. After that, he drove past one of the gaps in the trees and we found ourselves walking across a narrow clearing. A low stone wall and an old storage shed were partially buried by the moonlight, leaving behind vines. “

Aria. "Return, please?" I muttered, my voice hurting. "Do you want me to return to the place where I was once a weapon?". The unadorned man with silver hair answered, "Yes," and proceeded to explain that the walls still hold the key to freedom. And to your destruction.”. My hands were shaking. Not from fear but from rage. Marcus sat on my back and exclaimed, "You're insane.". It's crawling around with guards, sensors, and technology that can detect your heartbeat from a distance of ten feet. The man replied, "I understand, but there's one thing that went unplanned.". He looked at me. “She's not their weapon anymore.”. My breath caught. I wanted to scream. To cry. To break something. I was after information.? Especially, what... Why me? Why did I opt for this particular method of building? What led them to destroy everything that was dearest to me? I looked between them. “Where is it?” I asked. With a grimace on his lips, the man smiled. “Underground. Beneath the main

Aria. “No….no, no, no”. My knees dropped, leaving my mother's body on the floor with ease. Blood pooled beneath her. Her eyes were open. Still. Empty. As I touched the wound, my hands were raised. "As usual, you're fine.". You're okay. You're gonna be okay.”. She didn't move. "Mommy!" My voice was pierced with force and fury. "Don't leave me alone any longer.". Not like this.”. Marcus grabbed my shoulders. “Aria”. I pushed him away and said, "No!" She replied: "I have the power to save her. I muttered, "I'm okay with it, Mom.". You said you'd find me. I found you. Don't go…”. She didn't blink. She didn't breathe. She was gone. I screamed. The noise surged through the hallway and bounced off the walls like a curse. I had come so far. I had fought. Burned. Bled. And still….I lost her. Because of them. Because of him. I stood up, spasmed with tears in my cheeks and my fist was so tightly gripped that I could not touch my fingers. The guard who shot her remained there.

Aria. “Marcus!”. I was kneeling beside him. Blood ran through his shirt, dripping on my hands and leaving a thick layer of it. His chest rose barely. “No, no, no. Stay with me.”. He spat his lips and said, "I'm fine," while deceiving himself and coughing profusely. I said, "You jerk!" and my voice cracked. "I'm bleeding like the plague.". The man's voice, with his silvery hair, echoed through the speakers. "It was a touching moment.". This is what disobedience entails.' My thoughts flooded back to my chest, and I raised my head. "You pulled him off and shot you from behind.". Coward.”. He approached the glass with a sense of calmness and confidence. "However, you are on your knees.". As I stood, blood splattered from my hands, and his eyes were locked shut, I said Let him go. Let her go.”. "You've become sharper," he said with a smile. Is it not too tardy? My hands were clasped tightly. "What are you seeking?". “You, Aria. Just like before.”. I froze. “What are you tal

Aria. A bullet landed on the wall one inch away from my head.' I was pulled back by Marcus, causing us to crash behind an assortment of metal containers. My heart was pounding so I barely heard the next shot. Marcus checked the clip in his gun and noticed that the person didn't miss much. "We decrease his opportunities.". I stepped out and crouched down as another shot destroyed the light above us, showering sparks. He was good. Sharp. Maybe even trained like me. My memories were still incomplete, but the way he moved... had a familiar quality. "Tell him off," I whispered. "I'll flank you left.". "You don't have the strength to do that," Marcus shook his head. My gaze widened to catch sight of him, and I whispered, "Look my way.". I was able to slip around the crates before his argument could begin. The guard was concentrating on Marcus, his posture impeccable, waiting for the perfect shot.' After finding a wrench on the floor, I threw it at the opposite wall. Clang! I wa

Aria. My weight was like a heavy blanket in the darkness. Not sleeping. Not death. Just… stillness. My name was heard slowly, as if in a deep whisper. “Aria...”. That echoed through my mind.". Initially quiet but becoming more vocal.' “Aria, wake up.”. Despite my efforts to move, my limbs felt as though they were not in use. My headache. My lungs burned. I felt a dense fog covering my mind. It was like watching TV. Aria, let's make a move. Marcus. My heart surged. I forced my eyes open. White lights that were visibly visible penetrated my skull.' I trembled and attempted to sit up.' I couldn't. The warmth of the metal table was supported by leather straps that held my wrists and ankles. The panic hit me like a tsunami. “Marcus?” My voice cracked. "I'm here." His voice emanated from nearby. "Don't hesitate to move.". They drugged you. Me too. But I woke up first.”. I kept looking and blinked. He was confined to a chair across the room.? Despite his shirt being torn an
