Chapter 16

The night was young. But the anxiety of an unforgettable night out with Fiona got Charles monitoring the wall clock.

Immediately the clock struck eight, he knew it was showtime. He moved the curtains on his window and gazed at the glowing lights of the streets that had painted a beautiful set of colours across the darkening sky.

For a moment he gazed at the lights and imagined how beautiful his night could get.

But he did not waste much time in the land of imagination and dashed off into the bathroom. And within ten minutes he was done bathing.

He gazed at the clock and this time it was nine. As he rushed to dress up, he slipped and almost hit his head on the floor.

It was at this point that he thought to calm down and take things slowly.

Having applied all the body lotion and hair cream, it was time to put on his tuxedo.
