Chapter 11: The Stolen Jewelry

I was late the next day upon the small argument I had with Archer yesterday. I nearly wanted to cold the guard earlier who was fixing my door but upon realizing he was an angel sent by God to come and wake me up.

Booking a cab was pretty hard not to mention it was already late and I have no car I own so it was a bit of a hassle for me since it's thirty minutes away from the apartment I was in.

Fortunately, our manager was in a good mood and didn't ask when she saw me coming along inside.

"You're late," May said, having a huge grin on her face.

I scratched the back of my neck and nodded. "Uh-huh. I woke up late earlier but still managed to arrive here after ten minutes."

May nodded her head and bid her farewell. I was about to pass through my boss when suddenly, she held my hand and then stopped me.

"Livia, can you get the jewels I had on my table?" she asked, a bit in hurry.
