At the mansion, Alina had barely slept. The tears had eventually stopped sometime around three AM, leaving her hollow and exhausted, staring at the ceiling until pale light began filtering through the curtains.

She heard footsteps in the corridor around seven. Expected Mrs. Helen's familiar knock.

Instead, a timid tap. Too light. Too hesitant.

"Come in," Alina said, her voice rough from crying.

The door opened to reveal one of the younger maids. Sarah, maybe. Or Julia. Alina had never been good

Daniel did not leave immediately after walking out of Aliana’s room. He stood outside Alina’s door for a full minute after it closed. He could hear nothing from inside. No crying. No movement.Just silence. He turned and walked down the corridor, but instead of heading to the main staircase, he went to his study.Closed the door.Locked it.Daniel sat down at his desk and opened his laptop. The CCTV recording interface immediately appeared. He had already watched it three times since this morning, but something kept drawing him back to it.Daniel navigated to the library camera. Date: the day Junior fell. He scrolled to 4:00 PM.The timestamp showed clearly. 4:00:00 PM.Then jumped.6:03:47 PM.Two hours and three minutes. Gone.No gradual corruption. No pixelation or distortion leading up to it.Just a clean skip from one moment to the next.Daniel had asked the head of security about it, but the answer was not satisfactory."Sir, I'm showing... yes, there's a gap. File corruption. S

Or Julia. Alina had never been good with the junior staff names—they rotated so frequently. The girl carried a breakfast tray with both hands, eyes down, movements careful."Good morning, Ma'am," she said quietly, setting the tray on the desk without looking up."Where's Mrs. Helen?" Alina asked. The girl flinched slightly. "Mrs. Helen has been reassigned to other areas of the house, Ma'am. I'll be attending to your meals from now on.""Reassigned." Alina repeated the word flatly. "By whose order?""Mr. Blackwood's, Ma'am." Still

  • The Billionaire's Insignificant Wife    Rewriting History

Morning light filtered through the hospital curtains in soft strips, painting Junior's room in shades of pale gold.Junior's eyes opened slowly, blinking against the brightness. For a moment he just stared at the ceiling, at the unfamiliar patterns of acoustic tiles and the medical equipment that beeped softly beside him.Where was he?The room smelled wrong. Antiseptic and clean in a way that made his nose wrinkle. Not like home. Not like the lavender scent that usually filled his room—though he couldn't remember why that scent mattered or where it came from.He tried to sit up and immediately felt the tug of the IV line in his arm."Easy, sweetheart."A woman appeared at his bedside. Pretty face. Familiar in a surface way. She wore a soft pink sweater and her hair was pulled back neatly."Mama Rissa," Junior said automatically, the name coming without thought."Just Mama now," Clarissa corrected gently, her smile warm. "No need for the Rissa part anymore."She reached out to adjust

Mrs. Helen stepped out of the room, her face still wet with tears but her posture resolute.Mr. Harris stood in the corridor exactly where he'd been for the past hour, hands clasped in front of him, expression professionally blank."Mr. Harris," Mrs. Helen began, keeping her voice steady despite the tremor underneath. "Mrs. Blackwood needs to go to the hospital. Young Master Junior—""I know about Young Master Junior," Mr. Harris interrupted quietly. "Mr. Blackwood called a few minutes ago with specific instructions."Mrs. Helen's stomach dropped."What instructions?""Mrs. Blackwood is not to leave the mansion under any circumstances. Not tonight. Not without Mr. Blackwood's direct authorization." He paused, something uncomfortable flickering across his features. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Helen. Those are my orders.""But she's his mother," Mrs. Helen protested, voice rising slightly. "She has every right to see him when he's hurt—""My orders come from his father." Mr. Harris corrected. Not

  • The Billionaire's Insignificant Wife    Forgotten Memories?

Alina felt the floor beneath her feet vanish. The world seemed to spin in slow motion, Mrs. Helen’s voice sounding distant, as if coming from the far end of a very long hallway.“Amnesia?” Alina repeated in a voice barely audible. “You mean… he’s forgotten everything?”Mrs. Helen shook her head quickly, her hands trembling as she reached out to steady Alina by the arm.“Not everything, Madam. According to the nurse there… he still remembers Mr. Daniel, still remembers Mrs. Margaret. He still knows his own name, his age… but many of the memories from the past few years are gone. Including—” Mrs. Helen’s voice caught for a moment. “Including the memories with you, Madam.”Alina stared blankly. Her chest felt tight, as though an invisible hand were squeezing her heart.“I… I don’t exist in Junior’s memory? He’s forgotten me?”Mrs. Helen could only nod slowly, tears continuing to stream down her face.“Mr. Junior still remembers your name. But he doesn’t recall the details. He doesn’t rem

  • The Billionaire's Insignificant Wife    Weight of Forgetting

The CT scan took forty minutes.Daniel stood outside the imaging room with his back against the cold hospital wall, staring into nothing.Margaret sat in a nearby plastic chair, her hands folded in her lap with an unnatural stillness. The kind of stillness that comes from holding too much tension for too long.Clarissa paced. Three steps in one direction. Three steps back. Her heels clicked against the linoleum floor in a rhythm that wore at Daniel's nerves. When Dr. Emily finally appeared with the radiologist, her expression was carefully neutral in the practiced way doctors learn when delivering news that will change everything."We need to talk in my office," she said. They followed without a word. Her office was small. Functional. Dr. Emily gestured to the chairs but remained standing herself, a tablet in her hands displaying images that Daniel couldn't fully interpret but knew were pictures of Junior's brain."The good news," Dr. Emily began, "is that the swelling has reduced sig
