‘Tasya has got nothing to do with the pictures, Miguel. Don't make my best friend suffer for something that she didn't do.’

Lara pressed the send button and sighed heavily. It felt like she was being suffocated by her actions. She didn't want to initiate a confrontation because Miguel hadn't called her yet about the situation.

She hoped that her intentions were clear – she messaged him first for Tasya's sake, not because she wanted an explanation from him about his affairs.

Her heart almost leaped out of her chest when her phone buzzed. She received a reply from Miguel.

‘I know what I am doing, Lara.’

She let out a deep breath. She glanced at Tasya, who was biting her lower lip, waiting for Lara to speak.

"I have to go now, Tasya. I promise you that I'll do everything I can," she said, bidding her friend goodbye. She needed to talk to Miguel. Not through a message or email. If not in person because he was overseas, she would call him.
