Chapter 31

Rachel’s POV

One thing I was sure of was that J was ready to make my life even more miserable than he had in the past.

Those words he whispered into my ears sent cold chills down my spine.

How could he threaten me like that?

But I knew I had to brace myself for the next three months.

I sighed and lay flat on my bed after getting dressed, worried about how I was going to survive. Maybe I just wouldn’t.

I checked the messages I’d sent to Jacob a few minutes earlier, but there was still no response. He hadn’t been returning my calls either.

“Call me once you see this, Jacob,” I texted him again and dropped my phone.

Just then, a knock came at my door. I went to open it—it was Grace.

“Is there anything?” I asked.

“Young master has summoned you to his room,” she muttered.

“He said you should appear immediately,” she added, cutting into my thoughts.

“Alright, I’ll be out in a minute,” I responded and shut the door.
