Chapter Forty Nine

“Ellie!”. The excited voice called out immediately she walked into the house.

“Evie!”. Ellie screamed in excitement as she rushed down the stairs to greet her best friend. "You’re here! You’re here!”.

“I’m here!." Evie drew back to look at her. "You’re glowing.”

“It’s happiness not anything else.” Ellie was quick to squash whatever Evie was thinking.

“Hmmn if you say so.” Evie grinned.

“Hey Ell." Evie’s husband Greg walked up to them carrying their daughter Danielle.

“Greg hi! Long time no speak! Don’t tell me you’ve been so busy that you didn’t even call me once?”. She pretended to be upset.

“Yeah about that…" He scratched the back of his head looking sheepish. "I'm so sorry." He apologized.

“It’s okay." Ellie waved it off. She smiled at the little girl and carried her from her dad. "Hey Danie.”

“Ewie.” Danielle grinned, showing her pearly white teeth. "Ewie."

“She’s talking now?!”. Ellie’s eyes widened like saucers.
